Chapter Text
A long time ago, Gardenview closed doors forever, and we, toons, were left behind. We tried to stay in normality, talking with our friends once a month, but a year ago the elevator broke, so all the holiday toons were stuck down here forever. But this changes TODAY! Dandy managed to call the Christmas floor land line telephone. He told me that he - I mean, Vee, found a way to fix the elevator! ISN'T THAT INCREDIBLE?!
I tested if the elevator was working, and… It worked! It ACTUALLY worked!!! I was so happy i started jumping up and down of joy
“Bobette? What is happening?” I didn't even realize Ginger was behind me, tucking her white hair behind her face.
“Quick! Go on the Halloween floor! Go on the Easter floor! We need to tell everyone!”
“Tell exactly what?” Ginger asked, looking confused. Did I forget to tell her?
“Oh my, I didn't tell you?” I asked — “Dandy and the others fixed and reprogrammed the elevator! Now we can go to gardenview without waiting for the holidays! Isn't that marvelous?!”
“Really?” Gasped Ginger — “I will go tell them about the news!”
“That isn't necessary!” Said a whimsical voice. Me and Ginger turned out head to the elevator. I saw Gourdy, standing on the elevator’s door, shaking his little leaf tail. I also noticed Bassie, even with her usual shy demeanor, i could see she was just as excited as us all. The other holiday toons were all in the elevator
“Gourdy! I thought Dandy didn't told you about the plan”
“He told everyone about the plan, Christmas Lady! Well, almost everyone, Mrs.Bloomington said he didn't told her anything when i went to her floor”
“Oh silly Dandy, maybe he forgot about it!” I said, trying to comfort Bassie about that. She looked somewhat distraught.
“Am i that forgettable?” Bassie stuttered
“Of course not!” Cocoa said — “I can talk with Dandy about that, im sure he must only have forgotten because-”
“That's not necessary, i can talk to him myself” Bassie shrugged it off
“Anyways, Ginger, go get our buddies, it's time!”
“Sure”
Ginger brings Rudie and Coal to the elevator. As the elevator goes up, I get more and more excited, and my friends too.
“Man, it sure is a miracle to spend Christmas with all of my special friends!” Rudie exclaimed
“Mr Rudie, it's November-”
I quickly covered up Gourdy’s mouth
“Yeah, sure buddy! Christmas is better when everyone can celebrate with us! Right guys?”
All of them shake their heads agreeing. Everyone knows how scary Rudie can be when you mention it's not christmas, at least, according to what Glisten once said.
The elevator arrives at the main area of gardenview. The doors opened slowly, and everyone was waiting for us at the door. There was a huge “welcome back!” banner in the ceiling, as well as a bunch of reused decorations that were used on children birthday parties at Gardenview. I'm not complaining though, it's lovely they prepared this for us! Dandy came to the door with a smile as bright as the sun
“Welcome back folks! We are sooooooo happy to see you guys again!” Said Dandy in his usual main character voice
Everyone started welcoming back all of us, siblings and relatives were more than happy to stay together.
Dandy grabbed a megaphone, stood up in some wood boxes, and loudly announced — “Attention my friends! To celebrate our permanent reunion with ALL of our once-a-time friends, Sprout and Cosmo are going to make a wonderful dinner for all!”
Everyone started cheering, Cosmo awkwardly waved back to all the toons, and I saw him whispering something to Sprout. Jeez, maybe two cooks aren't enough? I should ask Ginger to help
“Oh yeah, sure!” Ginger replied. I think she might have been waiting for someone to tell her to help, i know she is too shy to just do it without being asked
“Hey, do you guys want some help in the kitchen?” Ginger said
“That would be great! Just don't mistake salt with sugar again, those last cookies were… something” Cosmo replied
“I can't promise that” said Ginger playfully
“Ooh! I can help two, I'm great with desserts!” Said Cocoa, hopping on the conversation
“I can't see why not!” Said Sprout
The banquet was delightful. The food was delicious, toons were eating, everyone singing and chatting, this perfect day couldn't get much better
The night falls in gardenview, it's pouring rain outside, Dandy guides us to our new room. Apparently, we are all going to share a room until they finish making a personal room for each, which takes a lot of time.
The room had some papers spread on a table, with a poster of all the mains in a wall, maybe this room belonged to some toon handler. There was also a sleeping bag for each one of us, i will sure take some time to get used to sleep on the floor
A lighting struck, and boy it was loud. The power went out for a few seconds, and then came back.
Gourdy hid behind Ribecca, while she comforted him — “When a lighting strikes, it's just the sky complaining. Also, without them, Frankenstein would never have CAME TO LIIIIIFE!” — Gourdy giggled with the joke, i never thought of all toons, Ribecca would be good with kids
I was setting down my stuff to sleep, when I heard a knock on the door, I opened it, and there was Toodles —“Gourdy! Rodger allowed the sleepover, I will be waiting for you down there, I will bring the cool toys i got from Bobette last Christmas! Oh, hi everyone!”
“Hi Toodles!” — we all said. Toodles is honestly adorable, im so happy she isn't alone anymore for most of the year
We all prepared ourselves to sleep, Rudie put on his mask to not make the entire room glow red, Soulvester tone down his ghostly glow, and Eclipse even put some type of sleep-muzzle? I heard she gets pretty wild when it's dark, i don't know how much tho, i barely talked to the other holiday toons until now.
I kinda feel ashamed for that, we could all have become great friends, but to be fair, we never had the chance to see each other when Gardenview was running!
Bassie went to turn off the lights. “Good night guys!” Bassie said — “Good night!” We all replied. As I fell asleep, the only thing I could think at that moment was: “this is the best day of my life! No work, no stress, just… relaxing! I couldn't ask for more…”
And with the sounds of the blowing wind alongside the calming rain, this day was over, and I fell asleep.
