Chapter Text
I genuinely despise this fanfic
It all started with a minecraft server, one that somehow, under miraculous and mythical circumstances, brought two completely different souls together. Under all the puzzles and mysteries was something no human could bear.
Well, no human except Derek.
Derek, alternatively known as D3rlord3, was the first to stumble upon this strange server. He outsmarted the entity in its own domain, but alas, it ruined him. Cursed with infinite knowledge, he couldnt even look away from the screen without pain, both psychological and psychical. It was inefficient but it kept him sane. After gaining this knowledge he left a warning to Avery.
"Whatever you do at the crossroads, dont turn left."
Avery recorded his discovery of this book, which, by luck, went viral. There was an analysis video on it, said video discovered the hidden messages Derek left. Avery, upon discovering this video, went on a search for him.
After much toil and trouble, becoming face to face with the yellow king himself, Derek trying to sacrifice himself (but failing because this is good ending au remember??!?!?!?!?!) and ultimately destroying the yellow king, they ended up here.
Derek had managed to find Avery through his channel. It wasent hard. Pretty much trauma bonded they moved in together. Derek was still having trouble looking away from the screen.
And that led them here.
...Saturday, 9 am...
Derek was sat at his computer screen, drinking a smoothie. He couldn't do anything. Such a sad situation really. But thats when there was a knock on his door.
"D3r- Derek, open up!"
Avery's voice echoed from the other side.
"You can come in." Derek grumbled, exhausted from lack of sleep.
Avery stepped in, holding a plate of burnt breakfast.
"Okay, i know it looks bad bro, but i tried! Im sure it tastes great anyways!"
Derek glanced at him, before immediately returning to his computer screen.
"Thats actually really nice of you, Ave."
Avery shrugged, scratching the back of his head.
"Ah, it was nothing. I owe you after all."
"Avery."
Derek warned.
"We are NOT having this conversation again."
Avery deadpanned, setting the food on his desk.
"Eat your damn food, eat something other than smoothies. And get off the game, staring at it all day isnt gonna help you."
"I cant. You know i cant. Its the only thing that calms my mind."
Derek protested. He really couldn't.
"So what, you're gonna stay there forever?" Avery said, crossing his arms. "You cant just sit there."
"..I suppose you're right..." Derek muttered.
"Exactly!"
"Anything I can do to distract you from the whole.. yknow.. infinite knowledge thing...?"
Avery asked.
"Just try having a conversation with me." Derek replied, rubbing one eye.
Avery grabbed Derek by the hand. He felt horrible as soon as he looked away from the screen, but the touch helped ground him as he was led downstairs. The smell of burning lingered from the kitchen. The lights were dim, morning light shining through the blinds. There were slime containers on the dining table, courtesy of Avery. It was a calm and domestic scene. (Im cringing at this imsorry 🥹)
Avery plopped down on the sofa, (yes, sofa. Im British brother✌️) sat on his knees, patting the spot beside him for Derek. Derek sat with his legs crossed.
"I've been thinking.. we need cats." Avery proposed.
"Cats?"
"Cats." Avery said with the confidence of a kid saying gum stays in your stomach for 7 years. "Two of them. We'll name them TheMostMayo and D3rlord3."
"..after our minecraft usernames? Seriously?" Derek asked, unimpressed but not opposed to the idea.
"Absolutely." *Avery nodded.*
"Wont they be a handful to take care of?" Derek asked, a reasonable concern.
"Nope. Besides it'll be worth it. Imagine a little D3rlord3 on your lap making bread! Awe!" Avery cooed at the thought. The sight made Derek soften.
"Okay, fine. But you have to prove you can be responsible for a pet. We'll start with one and if we can handle that we can get two. and no ginger cats. Those things are crazy." Derek explained his terms and Avery nodded, fast and excited.
"Okay! Eek!" Avery squealed.
