Work Text:
Onek: Why don't you cry?
Twoek: I don't know, I guess I'm just too good for that.
Onek: You're capable; you have lungs and a voice box and eyes and working tear ducts. You're going to die. Why aren't you crying?
Twoek: I've cried before, I just don't feel like doing it now.
Onek: Cry
Twoek: (nervous smile) I can't just cry on command.
Onek: Would you cry if we killed Threek?
[ The screen behind onek turns on, Threek can be seen, having been cornered. There is no way out, but she is staring trustingly at the camera.}
Twoek: She has nothing to do with this, leave her out of it.
Onek: You care about her, would you cry for her death?
Twoek: I'm crying now, see? That's what this shiny stuff is. I'm crying now, so you can let her go, you have what you want.
Onek: That's not crying. If you won't cry, what would you do?
[The people around Threek arrange themselves, to execute her formally, raising their guns and aiming at her. Threek flinches, but keeps looking at the camera---almost through it, as if she's looking at something.]
Twoek: She has nothing to do with this. You're just going to make me watch her die? What for?
Onek: Cry.
Twoek: (frustrated) I *am* crying.
[The apparent execution continues; threek has little time left.]
Twoek: (More distraught) I *am* crying, what more do you want?
Onek: There is no weakness in your tears.
Twoek: That's what you want? Weakness?
Onek: We want crying
[Some of the guns reload, Twoek gets down onto hands and knees.]
Twoek: (desperate, choking back sobs) Please, she means nothing, she has nothing to do with anything, I'm begging you.
[Threek looks away and closes her eyes as the guns' safety can be heard clicking off]
Twoek: (whimpered) please (devolves into sobbing)
[for a moment, nothing happens.]
Onek: Thank you :)
[The guns don't shoot, and for a long moment everything is still and silent save for the sobs of Twoek. Then, Threek opens her eyes and looks around as everyone raises their guns to the ceilling, aiming away from her before firing. Twoek flinches and cries harder.]
