Leona just finished training and was walking in the botanical garden,he wasn't feeling sleepy(for once) and had nothing better to do,a voice raised from behind him calling his name.
"leona!!leona!!there you are!!" The voice of the vice warden of savannaclaw was unmistakable,he turned around to face the hyena,already feeling annoyed.
"What is it ruggie?" He replied flatly.
"Wanna come with me to the city??" He asked "you already napped last night and this morning so you clearly aren't tired,and by you being here I can tell you have nothing to do!" He said,a grin plastered on his face,the lion growled at the mocking tone.
"Fine!your lucky I'm in a good mood-" "so be it!!join me infront of the school gate in 10min,I have something to get first" he cut him off.
Leona scoffed at how stupid this was,he still waited for the hyena at the gate.
"Wow!didn't think you'd actually come!" Ruggie sounded amused.
"What?disappointed?" He replied with a smirk.
"Naaahh your way too bored for that right now"
The housewarden sneered before asking "anyway what's that you wanted to get?" "OH yeah!I almost forgot,so leona this is jack,he's part of our dorm"
"Uh hu,and for what occasion?you don't invite people for no reason" he asked glancing at the guy behind him
"Hehe you real'y know me well" he snickered "jack got me out of trouble with some randoes earlier hehe he got a strong grip i must say~"
"You leave that boy alone,he barely even' enrolled" said the leona with a flat tone,he looked over at the beastman behind the sophomore,he was tall,muscular,quite the fella,he was obviously blushing,his ears twitching every now and then,pretty sure he's panicking for being with the housewarden,the lion heard he's like that with every higher ranking student.leona started to get weary of all this.
"We going or nah?I'm getting bored of this" irritation dripping in his voice as the two guys ears shot back down.
"Jeez,didn't need to yell" said the hyena "say something jack,so we can leave already, this man has no patience" he replied turning his face around to face the freshman.
"Uh-oh yeah it's a pleasure to meet you sir!!" He stuttered caught off guard "drop the formalities I ain't here to reprimand you,anyway let's get going"
They arrived at the city near by,ruggie was looking around trying to see who would be the easiest guy to pick pocket, jack didn't look sure of where he was supposed to look and leona appears to be as uninterested as always before finally picking up an excited sound.
"AH!FINALLY!!" All of their gazes suddenly turned wherever the short guy was looking,an ice cream cart.
"Are you serious?" "I didn't think you'd take us somewhere like this-" "OH C'MON!!!they're the only one that sells ice cream like back home!!and they don't come here around often!!yall should praise and thank me for finding someone who sell things like at sunset savanna-" "yeah yeah whatever stop whinin' now,so,who go get them?" The short guy growled at the interruption,before exhaling "I will" he replied with a hint of annoyance in his voice,leona threw a sac of money to him as he drifted away toward the cart.
"Is he always like this?" Inquired jack.
"Huh?oh,ruggie?yeah that's him,gotta get used to it looks like he got a likin' to you,now,he won't leave ya alone" scowled the lion "but ruggie's a nice fella,when he doesn't try to trick you into doing things for him"
"If you say so" the junior glanced back at him,he was as stiff as a board,the freshman stared back at him before looking back down.
"May I ask something" he finally sounded out.
Leona scoffed before responding "go ahead".
"Back at the spell drive tournament,did you really have employ such-how do I say this-" "dirty methods?" He cut him off "you want to know why I went ahead and used such a "dirty method" as cheating to try and win?" He replied blatantly,jack nodded slowly,not meeting his gaze ,embarrassed by the fact his housewarden could see through him like an open book.
"I'll lay it easy for you" he commented "you gotta know somethin',life is unfair" jack shot up at the answer,leona stretched his arms before going on with his sentence "It's like playing Russian roulette,you take your turn and you hope you don't get shot,get over it or kill yourself" jack glanced at him,he could see the tiredness and emptiness in his eyes "if your lucky your life will have hardships,but it wouldn't matter,yet...if you're not,expect life to toy with you til your breaking point,til you're desperate enough to try and get a grasp of light" he glanced at the boy beside him ,understanding and respect in the other's eyes "and when you're desperate enough,you're willing to do anything,anything to finally get what you want" he finished,his voice pronounced and rough at the last sentence.
"You got it now?"
"YES,thank you for enlightening me on your point of view"
Leona hummed,a voice emerged abruptly calling for the both of them "took him long enough" muttered the lion "c'mon jack,he'll eat yours if you're too slow" he invited,a smirk playing on his face,a slight smile forms on the wolf's face before walking forward "coming!"
"What were yall talking about anyway,that looked serious" asked ruggie "nothing much" replied leona "nothing special nor concerning you" taunted jack,the sophomore growled,annoyed by the exclusion,he then launched for Jack's hand and bit of atleast half of his popsicle "H-H-HEY!YOU THIEF!" "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR EXCLUDING ME FROM YOUR CONVO" he barked back "ruggie will you ever stop acting like a damn kid?" growled leona "well for that" he lowered himself to ruggie's hand level and bit a huge bite out of his popsicle "HEY!THAT WAS MINE!" He shouted "should've left the kid alone then" he said munching while headlocking ruggie's neck with his arm,restraining him from causing anymore chaos.
"Hey jack,take a bite" he said approaching his popsicle toward the tall guy "wha-are you sure?!" He stumbled,stunned by the proposition "a-alright,thank you" he thanked taking a bite out of leona's popsicle "gggrrr why are you kinder to him than with me huh?!?I run errands for you every damn day I remind you!!" He stated,clearly upset "stop actin' like a dog with rabies then we'll see" he snarled,finally releasing him.
The way to the school continued that way,mockeries ,annoyance and laughter accompanied the way as the sun set down marking the end of the day.
