Without you.

Summary:

It was the year 2006… oh how wrong that year went for the strongest in Jujutsu High. Now that there was only one, one newly found “strongest” out of two, by two I mean Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo. For some context, this wasn’t always how things were. Things weren’t ever particularly “Wrong” when you are the strongest. But that year was different… gruelingly hard… heartbreaking, love was the word that connected them. But now love was something empty, and hollow, practically meaningless… how is Gojo planning on moving on from his “best friend “

Chapter Text

It was the year 2006… oh how wrong that year went for the strongest in Jujutsu High. Now that there was only one, one newly found “strongest” out of two, by two I mean Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo. For some context, this wasn’t always how things were. Things weren’t ever particularly “Wrong” when you are the strongest. But that year was different… gruelingly hard… heartbreaking, love was the word that connected them. But now love was something empty, and hollow, practically meaningless.

After a mission that had gone terribly wrong in delivering the star plasma vessel “Riko Amanai”. The beginning of that mission was beyond good. Things weren’t that hard since they were together, but the mission ultimately failed with her murder by “Toji Zenin” oh right, I mean “Toji Fushiguro”. Although they failed the mission and Riko was murdered, there was one benefit… the uprising of the newly promoted strongest sorcerer after his fight with Toji Fushiguro. Although he was already considered the strongest alongside, his partner Suguru Geto, after this incident he had advanced so much in so little time it was remarkable, and at a near-death experience. Truly incredible. But there was one issue, after this played out, the duo of “The strongest” was mere history, the title wasn’t shared anymore, it just belonged to him, Satoru Gojo, the only person to have both the six eyes and the limitless technique in the last four hundred years in the Gojo Clan. “The Satoru Gojo”.

You're probably saying in your mind “But if he has an ancient technique why wouldn’t he be the strongest”, and you would be correct for thinking that, “It was only a matter of time” but put yourself in Suguru Geto’s mind. Your best friend and practically lover, leaving you behind and taking the title you once shared is kind of wounding to say the least. Wouldn’t you agree?

So now that you know a bit of background on these two, let me take you to the year after that, a comrade of there’s dies after a mission was under calculated his name was “Yu Haibara”, Satoru was taking mission on his own because he was strong enough to handle everything on his own, “Shoko Ieiri” was learning to be a medic and was too weak to go on missions at all, so that left Suguru Geto with all the other missions to himself, to go on his own, to exercise curses and his own power comes with the blessing of “Curse manipulation” which is supper useful until you have to eat them… yes, you read correctly eat the disgusting, mutated dark emotions, that taste like a rag used to clean shit and vomit. And he did it alone now that his best friend had left him in the dust…

It’s ironic when Satoru would say they would be the strongest together, and if your wondering, Satoru never checked on him, he saw all of the signs, him growing weaker, losing weight, growing eye bags, and the way he would slowly distance himself, he noticed but for some reason was ether too afraid to mention it or maybe was trying to ignore it. Who knows honestly.

Eventually, a special grade sorcerer that goes by the name “Yuki Tsukumo” who was known to do absolutely nothing for the sorcerer community found herself interviewing, or much rather talking to the broken and torn Suguru Geto. She was talking about an interesting topic. About “living in a world without curses” at first it sounds impossible, right? Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. She began to explain how there were two options for creating this type of world. The first option was to eliminate all cursed energy from the world, which she reasoned was possible since Toji Fushiguro was a prime example, since he has no cursed energy. The second option was to get all humans to control their cursed energy, which was close to impossible since there were so many, and so many that didn’t even have a clue what cursed energy even was. But Geto thought of a third option… “Killing all non-jujutsu sorcerers “… Yuki quickly dismissed the idea of “Killing all non- jujutsu sorcerers” because it was realistically possible, but that was crazy the amount of people that had to be killed was almost 93% of the population.

But even after that conversation that idea didn’t leave Suguru’s mind. It actually stayed there, until he decided. That was exactly what he was going to do… so he left one day and killed one hundred and twelve people including his parents. And was expelled from Jujutsu High School, without saying a single goodbye, it was almost like he vanished into thin air. And eventually, Shoko found him on her smoke break in Shinjuku, and called Gojo to talk and tell him where we were… now this is where the story finally begins.

Chapter 1 “The breakup”

Satoru: “Explain yourself, Suguru.”

(Satoru’s eyes were full of anger but still hopefully that he could get Suguru back. Sadly, it isn’t the case, Satoru stood there, it was comical that it was right in front of a restaurant that they used to go to. KFC huh, still wasn’t shy from a coincidence. People surrounded them, it was a public place after all, Suguru’s back was towards him, not because he couldn’t but because he didn’t see the need to.)

Suguru: “You already heard it from Shoko… that’s all there is to it, Satoru.”

(Suguru’s voice was cold, stern, and full of logic, like always, but this time felt different, more distant as if he was talking to a stranger. Not his best friend)

Satoru: “So you’re just gonna kill every non-jujutsu sorcerer? And your parents.?”

Suguru: “I can’t allow my parents to be a special exception besides, I don’t consider those people my family anymore.”

Satoru: “That’s not what I was asking you I thought we weren’t allowed to kill when there was no point to it!”

Suguru: “there is a point… a cost… and significance too…”
Satoru: “No, there’s not! Are you really going to kill all non-jujutsu sorcerers now! You know that’s impossible! There’s no point in chipping away at something you possibly can’t achieve! “

Suguru: “You’re so arrogant… You could do it yourself…. Satoru…. Couldn’t you? That you would try to convince someone else that it’s impossible to do something… which is possible for you. Do you think you’re the strongest because you're Satoru Gojo? Or are you Satoru Gojo because you’re the strongest?”

(Suguru’s body finally turned around his face unrecognizable, well recognizable to him but it felt so different, so disconnected. It was like Satoru was getting choked. The emotion was strong, but the tension was stronger)

Satoru: “What are you trying to say”

Suguru: “If I were able to become you for a moment… this foolish idea will become a lot more grounded and real. Don’t you think I’ve made my decision now it’s a matter of doing the best I can to achieve it….”

Satoru: “Tch”

Suguru: “If you want to kill me then kill me… there’d be a point to that….”

(And that was it… the end our friendship, it felt like it ended, right there, everything we went through together, it was like it ment nothing, nothing at all, and I didn’t understand why, I felt empty, the strongest felt insignificant to his feelings, the person that he talked to the most, the person who he related to was gone, it hurt as Suguru turned around and walked away, and he couldn’t do anything about it. It hurt like hell, It in fact felt like he was in hell. Everything that they did together. Everything just went to shit, everything. So much was going on and his mind couldn’t process it, the memory was hitting him as Suguru disappeared. Gone…)

Back at Jujutsu High:

(Gojo walked up the stairs and just sat down, the pressure finally settling in, the memory’s coming back of all the times they spent together, all the laughs, every smile they shared, when they rode on the same bike together, when they sat at the soccer field with all of the class when they walked under the bridge, when they went to the beach. It was hitting him as if he was getting hit in the face over and over. The more he tried to get him out of his head, he couldn’t help but tear up.)

Principle Yaga: “Why didn’t you go after him?

Satoru: “Are you seriously asking me that…?”

Principle Yaga: “Nah… it was a dumb question anyway.”

Satoru: “Yaga, do you think I am strong?”

(Satoru just wanted to ground himself and needed something to distract him but his emotions were too strong, something that he had never really felt before. It hurt)

Principal Yaga: “Yeah… brazenly so…”

Satoru: “Yeah, but apparently being strong isn’t enough. The only ones that I can save are those waiting to be saved by someone..”

Principal Yaga: “There’s a lot you still need to learn Satoru…. Not everything’s about being strong or courageous. “‘

Satoru: “Oh yeah, what's it about then? Huh? Love? Compassion? “

Principal Yaga: “All of that isn’t something that I would expect you to know without experience…. Although those characteristics are important to help you through rough times such as now… It’s still something that you need to push past”

Satoru: “Tch- Rough times… that's an understatement.” “Suguru’s gone. I couldn’t stop him.” “I don’t know how to push past that…”

Principal Yaga: “And I don’t know how to help people with their emotions… I’m sorry about Suguru, Satoru”

Satoru: “I don’t understand I thought I was strong, you even said it yourself I don’t understand why I feel so weak, I don’t understand, I thought we were the strongest, but now I’m not sure. “

Principal Yaga: “You're grieving and it’s understandable, you lost someone important to you. I get it, Satoru. I lost people too”

Satoru: “Yeah but I can’t help but feel as though it was my fault, every time I try to get him out of my head, it gets worse. Every happy memory we shared, every laugh, every smile, every experience, every mission. It’s like his memory is getting stronger and I'm just so afraid of letting it go. I’m just so torn between wanting to forget him and shaking at the thought of letting him go… I remember everything he told me. I wish things had gone differently… I want him back, but it is too late. I remember everything. But know nothing at the same time. Nobody will understand him like I do.. or at least that's what I thought. I feel like I know the least about him now that we are apart. “

(He hated the way that he was pouring his heart out to his teacher but who else did he have now that his everything was gone, everything )

Principal Yaga: “I think you should go on a walk to clear your mind. “

Satoru: “Maybe, I just need some rest and a drink. But right now I'm too weak to even stand… I'm sorry for dumping this on you, it's just now that he is gone, I have no one else… “

(Yaga eventually walked away leaving him with space, and he just stayed sitting on the staircase, and the sun set, and night passed and he was still in the same spot. An entire night, in the same spot, with the same thought, damn was it pitiful how broken he was. As the sun rose he scurried to his dorm room, which was conveniently placed next to Suguru’s room, which was covered in Caution tape with warnings, as he stumbled weakly to open his room door his gaze went to his friends door. They were treating him like a criminal, like the room they hung out in was a fucking crime scene. Satoru just took a deep breath and walked into his own room. Flopping in his bed, taking a deep shaky breath. Breathing in the smell of Suguru that always circulated in his room. God did he miss him already. This was worse than anything he has ever been through and the worst part is that he is doing it alone. During this, he was also making sure Toji’s kids were doing well, and had a relationship with a boy named Megumi Fushiguro, as if he were his own son. But of course they could handle themselves, though he would check on them.)
