Chapter 1: Do you have a Sekai?!

Chapter Text

Ichika's P.O.V  :

For the first time in several years, Ichika Hoshino was heading home with her friends. Ever since Saki had been hospitalised and they’d started at Miyamasukaza Girls’ Academy, she, Shiho and Honami had gradually drifted apart as the days went by. Ichika would be lying if she said that this separation hadn’t affected her all that much. She had felt very lonely all that time and thought she would never be able to spend time with them again; despite the fact that Shiho and Honami were gradually drifting away from her, Ichika still cared deeply for her friends.

However, everything changed the day Saki was discharged from hospital and transferred to her class. Saki, unaware of her friends’ situation, had immediately tried to reconnect with them but was surprised to find that they didn’t seem keen to resume their previous relationship. The girl had been devastated and felt responsible for the rift between her friends until Ichika reassured her by telling her it wasn’t her fault.

Then one day, the day before Saki joined their class, Ichika discovered a song called ‘Untitled’ in her playlist and was transported to a place called Sekai, where she met Miku and Luka, who helped her reconnect with her friends. Together, they formed a band called ‘Leo/Need’ in honour of the shooting stars they used to watch as children.

From then on, the girls had lunch together and spent time together.

That day, they were leaving class when suddenly all four of their phones began to vibrate. They took them out and saw that the song ‘Untitled’ was playing, but strangely, they weren’t transported to Sekai.

They still felt the familiar sensation of being teleported into the Sekai, with the pink, blue and yellow triangles (I’m not exactly sure what they are – let me know in the comments if you know) swirling around them and carrying the four girls away.

Minori's P.O.V :

Minori had been absolutely thrilled for a while now: she’d finally made her dream come true! She’d met Haruka, who’d been her idol since she was a child, and now she was going to be trained not only by Haruka but also by Shizuku and Airi—who were also former idols—to become an idol herself! She couldn’t wait to tell Kohane all about it!

Admittedly, convincing Airi, who was the most reluctant, had been very difficult and had even sparked an argument between her and Shizuku, but Minori hadn’t given up and had managed to bring the girls together. But she might not have managed to reconcile them without the help of Miku and Rin. The creation of Sekai had turned Minori’s and the others’ lives upside dow

Today, she was due to meet up with Haruka, Airi and Shizuku on the school roof after lessons to start her training. She had been eagerly awaiting the end of lessons and had practically run out of the classroom, after quickly saying goodbye to Kohane.

She rushed up to the roof and found Haruka there with Shizuku and Airi. She was about to greet them when suddenly her phone started vibrating. She took it out and saw that her playlist was playing ‘Untitled’; she looked at the three girls with her and saw that they were in a similar situation.

Minori expected to be taken to the Sekai, but nothing happened; the four girls were all enveloped in the beam of light that teleported them to the Sekai, just seconds before being transported to an unknown location.

Kohane's P.O.V :

Kohane rushed towards the exit after seeing Minori dash out. She didn’t have time to ask her friend any questions; that evening, she had to meet up with An, Akito and Touya at the WEEKEND GARAGE café to practise under the supervision of Ken, An’s father.

It had been a while since she’d met An, and since then her life had changed for the better: she had more self-confidence, and An had convinced her to form a duo. At first, it had been difficult for her to get on stage and match An’s enthusiasm, especially after Akito’s friend had sabotaged her

She’d almost given up, but thanks to Meiko’s advice and the support of Miku and Len, she’d found the strength to carry on. However, the young girl hadn’t been the only one to doubt herself; to her great surprise, Touya wasn’t really sure whether he wanted to make music either, but thanks to her help and An’s, they’d convinced him, and he’d also made up with Akito

Driven by their shared desire to surpass RAD WEEKEND, the four of them formed the band Vivid Bad Squad.

As she entered the café, she gave Ken a quick wave from the bar and then made her way over to her friends. Before she’d had a chance to say a word to them, their phones began to vibrate. They saw that “Untitled” had been selected from their playlist.

They watched the halo of light swirl around them before disappearing

Tsukasa's P.O.V :

Tsukasa was struggling not to skip as he made his way to Phoenix Wonderland Park. He was so excited! He was about to take the first step towards becoming a star! He was so grateful to Emu for suggesting he join a theatre troupe!

Well, the start had been tough, but it was usually the same for everyone, wasn’t it?! He regretted blaming Nene for the incident that had happened during their first show, and he’d deserved Rui’s telling-off.

The group had nearly split up before they’d even started; Emu had felt guilty about their split and wanted to give up on the Merveilles stage, which had shocked Tsukasa, who knew just how much that place meant to the girl.

When he’d reflected on it in the Sekai, he’d remembered why he’d wanted to become famous: to make his sister smile. He wanted to be someone who made others smile. Miku and Kaito had stood by him to help him reform the band.

He had apologised to Nene, who, like him, truly loved performing and singing. Then, with the help of the girls, Miku and Kaito, he had devised a plan to convince Rui to rejoin the troupe. Their efforts had paid off and the Wonderland x Showtime troupe had been formed.

As he reached the stage, he saw Emu walking towards him, but she stopped abruptly, and Tsukasa felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He took it out and saw that ‘Untitled’ was playing from his playlist.

He saw that he and his friends were enveloped in the same halo that was teleporting them to the Sekai, but Tsukasa sensed that wasn’t where they were going. A few seconds later, the four teenagers vanished.

Kanade's P.O.V :

Kanade sighed as she opened her laptop and logged into Nightcord; she didn’t think Ena, Mizuki or Mafuyu would already be online, but she wanted to check anyway. The last few days had been… eventful. Meeting the other members of Nigo, discovering the Sekai, and visiting her father.

She hadn’t expected to ever meet the other members of Nigo. Nor did she know that Yuki (Mafuyu) was hiding her true feelings and needed saving. She would never have believed that her songs could help people the way they had helped her. If she’d been doing this all this time, it was to try and make amends after what had happened to her father.

She had always felt guilty about what had happened to him and wanted to make amends by writing songs that would make people happy. She’d made that decision after remembering why her father loved music so much, but that was before she’d wished to disappear.

Kanade had been surprised to discover that her friend also wanted to disappear, so she had assured her that she would compose a song capable of saving her. That was now Kanade’s new mission: to save Mafuyu

After opening Nightcord, Kanade saw that the others were online and decided to log in to discuss their next song.  No sooner had she logged in than her phone vibrated, and she saw that ‘Untitled’ had been selected from her playlist. She was swept up in a whirlwind of light and eventually vanished, unaware that her friends had suffered the same fate as her.

In an auditorium, five glowing halos filled the room. Twenty teenagers emerged from them before stumbling to the floor, thrown off balance by the surprise. As they struggled to their feet, they looked around and noticed some familiar faces:

-Saki ?!

-Shiho-chan ?!

-Akito ?!

-Yoisaki-san ?!

-Minori ?!

-Emu-chan ?!

-What on earth is going on?!

Amidst the hubbub in the room, they were all struggling to make out each other’s confused explanations, until a voice rang out:

‘Everyone! Calm down!’

They all recognised the voice, turned their heads sharply and saw, to their amazement, Miku standing in the centre of the room. Even more astonishing was that there wasn’t just one Miku, but five different Mikus! One of them had pigtails, a jacket and a grey skirt; another in a black-and-white checked stage outfit; one in a sweatshirt and a long blue skirt; a Miku dressed entirely in pink with cat ears and a sparkle in her eyes (literally); and the last one, dressed entirely in white, with blue and pink heterochromia and a face devoid of emotion

They stared at them in utter amazement. How on earth was that possible?! Ichika then asked the question they were all thinking:

-Miku, what on earth is going on?

-We’ll explain everything to you. Just wait a moment and you’ll have all the answers

A few seconds later, another surprise awaited them; they saw several Lukas, Lens, Rins, Kaitos and Meikos entering the room. Clearly, they hadn’t realised something until it suddenly dawned on them: they’d all come from different Sekais! But if they were all here, that meant:

‘You have a Sekai too?!’

The question echoed through the room like a gunshot and the hubbub resumed until another voice silenced them:

-Silence!

This time it was one of the Kaitos who silenced them, the one wearing dark clothes and looking stern:

-Sit down, everyone, we’re all going to tell you

They took their seats on the chairs arranged around a screen in the centre of the room. After a few minutes, one of the Meikos spoke up; it was the one from Street Sekai, the one belonging to the members of Vivid Bad Squad:

-You are here because there are many things you need to be aware of that will be essential to better understanding the feelings you have just revealed

One of Luka’s companions, the one wearing an outfit similar to that of the Miku with pigtails, continued:

‘In the future, you will need a great deal of understanding to make sense of the events and revelations to come, and what we are about to show you will enable you to help one another.’

-What are you going to show us?’ asked Rui.

‘Your future.’

Their eyes widened and their jaws dropped. They hadn’t really expected that sort of answer, but they would have to take their word for it.

‘You’ll understand in time. We’ll be here if you need us.’

They left the room, leaving them alone in the auditorium. The teenagers decided to exchange a few words before the recording began. A message appeared on the screen:

-The first recording will be about the band Leo/Need

The four girls looked at each other in astonishment
