Work Text:
Vox was having a sweet, peaceful dream about taking over the world and being the world’s best dictator, which is why he didn’t wake up on time. His alarm clock failed as well, which only increased his lateness. When his gentle slumber finally took him out of the clouds and into the land of the living (not for long) he checked his watch and realised he was late.
Hastily, he shoved on his clothes and downed his breakfast, desperately trying to get ready in time, or else he’d miss the bus! If he missed the bus, he’d be late for his work, and we all know how important TV broadcasting is to him! If he missed the bus, the next one could very well be cancelled. The one after that could be late. It was a risk he simply couldn’t take!
He dashed out of his home and saw the bus already parked at the stop. Perfect! If he just ran, he could make it! His feet took him forward at the speed of sound, but alas... it was too late. He didn’t arrive quickly enough to catch the bus, but arrived just in time to watch it leave without him — knowing that meant he would have to wait the full time for the next bus to arrive.
Vox hated public transport.
