I'm still standing (Better than I've ever been)

Summary:

They wanted to throw him away because of some two-faced liar? Fine! He didn't need them; he'd explore the world like he always wanted to, and he'd show them.
A few years later, Wemmbu was happy, truly happy, with friends that actually cared about him, and a rival(?)/boyfriend(?) that wanted to spend time with him. Yes, Wemmbu was happy. Unfortunately, even if it's not your fault, the past always catches up....

Chapter 1: The past catches up

Notes:

Warning: All Obey Me! Characters will be OOC at least slightly, and more likely very, as I don’t know much of the characters, and I am going off the wiki and fans’ words. Please bear it with me.

Chapter Text

Wemmbu sighed into Flame’s lips, relishing the warmth that flooded through the contact, Flame being a Nether-Demon, and him being an End-Dragon/Demon. Flame cupped Wemmbu’s face, admiring his beautiful purple-flecked eyes, and the way that he melted with the contact, a soft smile directed at his lover. Flame zoned out, admiring how he could just pin him down-, not finishing that train of thought! Last time he did, Wemmbu had maced him in the head, giving him a massive headache for the rest of the day.
“Watcha thinking about Flam?” Wemmbu asked, breaking his train of thought. Flame blinking, drawing his focus back to what they were doing, before grinning back at Wemmbu. “Just thinking of all the things you would look good in,” Flame said, winking (not like anyone could see with his blindfold, but Wemmbu always somehow seemed to know, just another reason his lover was perfect), causing Wemmbu to blush, before smacking Flame lightly on the arms, and rolling his eyes. “Anyways,” Wemmbu sighed, “We have to get to the base, Egg’s waiting, and we gotta get ready for that big fight in the arena that will somehow show everyone our good faith on not killing everyone, according to Parrot.” Flame laughed. “That sounds like Parrotx2, alright,” he scoffed, pulling him and his darling boy to their feet, pressing his lips into Wemmbu’s one more time before drawing back, smiling softly at the purple demon, before brushing off the grass on his sweats. Wemmbu rolled his eyes when he caught his lover staring, slipping his hand into Flame’s, before dragging him up. Just as they were about to leave, a thought struck Flamefrags. “Bro, wait,” he said, a questioning lilt in his tone. Wemmbu paused, causing Flame to stumble. “Yes?” he prodded, his tail lashing impatiently, clearly eager to go back to Eggchan.
“How does fighting each other in front of others show good faith? That makes like zero sense, bro. Like, wouldn’t that just scare the players even more?”
Wemmbu sighed, nodding his head in agreement. “I know, right? But Parrots like ‘Oh, you will just won’t use that much lethal force, and put on a show! That’ll make you more approachable or some shit.’ Minus the shit word, of course.” Flame sighed, tired of Parrot’s crazy antics. “Whatever, we might as well help him out. He is our….. King.” Wemmbu giggled, causing Flamefrags to blush and look away, his dark skin flushing an orange look. “What?” he demanded, attempting to stop the END demon from laughing at him even more. “You almost said friends, didn’t you?” he fake accused, laughing even louder at the expression his boyfriend bore. “I was not bro!” he protested. “And quiet down! Why is your laugh so loud, bro?” Wemmbu just continued wheezing, once again dragging Flame down the road to their base. “D’alrightttt. Whatever you say, bro.”
....................
“Hurry up,” Lucifer snapped, “We need to get in the portal before it closes.”
“Why are we looking for MC again? I thought we were done with her.” Amos sighed, observing his nails.
“Please don’t remind me!” R/n sobbed dramatically (like the piece of crap she was).
“No, no, don’t cry!” Amos pleaded while Beel awkwardly patted r/n on the shoulder.
As Lucifer shoved them all towards the portal, R/n smiled wickedly when the brothers looked away. This is just too easy, she thought. Meanwhile, Lucifer sighed, explaining to the others that they simply wanted to talk to MC. “And maybe reconcile with him,” Mammon whispered.
“What?” r/n loudly asked.
“Nothing!” Mammon quickly replied, knowing that if he talked back, r/n would shed some tears and wail about what MC did, and make all of them feel bad again, just after they had all calmed down and apologized for not noticing m/c’s behavior. Mammon couldn’t figure out what had gone wrong. He’d gotten so close with m/c to the point where he didn’t even care if he got called an idiot by them! He knew his brothers felt similarly, as they had all cared for m/c. They didn’t understand how he could do something like this. Lucifer had gone so far as to forsake the fact that they had ever been friends. He seemed to take it as a failure in his perfect facade, siding with someone like m/c. Mammon also knew that Levi hadn’t taken this well. While his shut-in brother (Levi’s words not his) didn’t get very close to people, everyone knew that he had considered m/c a close friend, and had even let m/c touch him. He could go on and on about how each of his brothers felt, but in short, they felt betrayed by m/c and his actions. This was for closure; each of the brothers reminded themselves as they walked towards the portal, not to reconcile. The cruelty m/c had inflicted on r/n made sure of that. They stepped into the portal. Little did they know, they were going to be slapped with some rude awakenings in the “mortal” world.
