Han Dongmin can actually live like this.
It’s 7 in the morning, but the sun is out of sight– hiding somewhere behind the heavy, grey sky. The rainy weather cancelled their schedules for the day, which is a relief– for once, he doesn’t have to worry about getting up early for the bus, the tiresome dance practices, hectic filming schedules… Plus, he gets to have more time with his adorable boyfriend– no one other than Kim Woonhak– who climbed into his bed in the earlier hours of the morning.
On-screen, Taesan is often the one being a touchy menace amongst his members, notoriously grabbing and smacking butts, and hovering over like a smitten cat– poor Woonhak often being a victim of this, shoving him off with his scandalized whines. But off-camera, Taesan’s actually more aloof, and the maknae is like a golden retriever who utterly cannot take his hands off of him– not that the older actually minds it.
The somewhat stark difference probably comes with the fact they (try) to keep their relationship a secret from the public eye with how Korea is so conservative of Idol image despite the flirty fanservice they do between themselves, but they don’t fool the other members nor the staff. Jaehyun and Donghyun love to tease both of them (unfortunately for Woonhak), Sungho doesn’t mind it all that much, but like the staff, would rather much prefer it if they kept the PDA low.
So yes, Dongmin doesn’t feel that bummed the schedules are cancelled due to the storm. The weight of Woonhak enveloping his chest and shoulders feels better than any blanket he has right now, and the snores he’s making are adorable– but loud against his ear.
“Yah, Kim Woonhak— are you trying to strangle me while polluting my ears?” Dongmin groans, shoving off the boy, and feeling his shoulder ache with the hours his boyfriend had been resting on it.
“Hyung, come on, it’s too early for this–” Woonhak mumbles, still groggy from being woken up.
“It’s past seven o’clock.”
“And?” Woonhak yawns, slowly adjusting his position to face his boyfriend, propping on the pillow instead. “We always get up earlier. Live a little, Hyung.”
“Well, your weight is killing me.” Dongmin deadpans.
“Yah, hyung, I thought you and I were having a moment…” the younger scowls, “It was all nice and cozy until you started to complain.” His small eyes narrowed with offense as he cuddled one of the other pillows instead, turning on his side as he sulked.
Woonhak was always fun to tease– everyone else found it amusing– be it the rest of the group, Woonhak’s friends from other groups, and especially Dongmin. The banter is always like this between them, but Dongmin always feels a soft spot for the younger. Despite himself, his hands find Woonhak’s waist as he shifts closer from behind as he tries to bite back a chuckle.
“You do realise that Donghyun’s the only one who can sulk without looking stupid, right?”
“You’re seriously still making fun of me right now?” Woonhak huffed into the pillow, but no actual hurt felt in his tone like he’s used to this– he is. “You really hurt me, Dongmin-hyung, calling me stupid right after verbally abusing me.”
Dongmin couldn’t hold back his amusement, nudging closer. “Okay, I didn’t say that now, but what I meant is that you’re stupidly cute, Woonagi.”
He says, pressing a kiss to Woonhak’s temple. “Yeah, sure.” Woonhak says, still refusing to budge, though the tone of his voice is failing to hide his smile due to the kiss. Like in their songs, Kim Woonhak was always vocal– no pun intended– about his emotions with each line he sang.
“Come on you–” Dongmin grinned, sneaking his hands a little higher, as he began wiggling his fingers to the other’s underarms’, earning a yelp from him as he squirmed.
“Yah, Hyung–!!” a burst of laughter from Woonhak escaped, unable to take the sudden tickle attack from him. “This is so unfair you’re doing this while I’m vulnerable–” He says between giggles, to loud guffaws.
From the cozy and peaceful atmosphere inside of the storm, it shifted into a warmer and playful mood, full of laughs drawn out by the relentless tickling, the sound of the mattress beneath them creaking from the writhing of Woonhak, who was basically pinned by the other, whose giggles also escaped his grin in glee, plus the blanket having betrayed the maknae, restricting him as he twitched– but once Woonhak wriggled out his hands out the blanket, he also darts for Dongmin’s waist, his neck, any possible spot he could be ticklish as well.
They were like boys roughhousing– except surely they were nowhere near little boys as they tired out quite fast, the laughter turning into cramps. Dongmin lay next to his exhausted boyfriend, both catching their breaths and staring at the ceiling for a few moments. The room wasn’t as cold as the early morning, but rather warmer and with a comfortable silence no matter how chaotic they were just a few seconds ago.
But though the silence was just fine, Dongmin wanted to fill the silence with something. Something to make this moment last. They don’t get enough days like this, so how can this be any more special–
“I love you, hyung.”
Woonhak’s voice is hoarse, hands pulling Dongmin closer to him, warm breaths against his neck, eyes gazing up at him fondly. Dongmin feels his heart skip a beat, and his face flush. It’s not the first time his boyfriend had muttered these words, he lost count with how Woonhak says it like it’s breathing– but the way it was said. It’s almost like the boy in front of him could read his mind, and give him exactly what he wants.
“I love you too, Woonagi.” Dongmin’s voice is way rougher than he intended, voice dry from his flustered state.
Next thing he knew, Woonhak’s hands trail higher to cup his face, their warm breaths meeting as Woonhak closes the distance.
The kiss between them is warm, almost like a good cup of hot chocolate on a snowy day– it’s like the most important thing in the world, a source of sweetness and comfort– but it was finished almost too fast, when Woonhak gently pulled away, and trailing kisses from Dongmin’s cheek to jaw, and nuzzling into the older’s shoulder.
“I could stay like this with you forever, hyung.” Dongmin couldn’t help but smile, bringing the younger one closer to him, one hand trailing to his hair, fingers gently running through the brown messy tufts.
“Yeah.” Once again, they were snuggling, legs tangling, and their heartbeats syncing as they were pressed up close, the rain being their soft soundtrack of the day… This was the perfect way to end another sappy moment between the lovers.
