After the Genie had been freed to explore the world, and the Sultan had changed the law so Jasmine could marry whomever she chose, Aladdin knew one thing for certain. He wanted to ask her properly.
One evening, he led Jasmine into the palace gardens. Lanterns glowed softly among the trees, their light dancing over the marble paths. The air was warm, fragrant with jasmine blossoms.
Jasmine turned to him with a curious smile. “Aladdin, what is all this?”
He took a breath, suddenly nervous despite everything they had been through. Then, beneath the sweeping branches of the trees, he dropped to one knee.
“Princess Jasmine,” he said, his voice steady but full of feeling, “will you marry me?”
Her eyes widened, shining in the lantern light. For a moment, she said nothing, only smiled, the kind of smile that made his heart race.
“Yes,” she whispered, then laughed softly. “Of course, yes. I choose you, Aladdin. Always.”
He stood, and they met in a joyful, breathless kiss, the world around them fading into nothing but the two of them.
A while later, the palace prepared for the royal wedding. Silks were woven, musicians rehearsed, and every corner of Agrabah seemed to shimmer with anticipation.
But for Jasmine, there was a sadness beneath it all. Her mother was not there to see this day.
While searching through her mother’s old belongings, Jasmine discovered a journal, filled with careful notes and loving details about her own wedding long ago. Page by page, Jasmine felt closer to her than she had in years.
Determined, she decided her wedding would honor her mother’s memory.
Her gown was designed to resemble her mother’s. The decorations echoed the same colors and patterns, and even the cake was recreated from the journal’s descriptions.
The Sultan watched all of this with pride and tenderness. One evening, he approached Jasmine with something carefully held in his hands.
“This,” he said softly, “is a letter your mother wrote for you… for this very day.”
Jasmine’s hands trembled as she opened it. Her mother’s words were filled with love, wisdom, and joy, but one line stayed with her: “The best part of my wedding was my greatest treasure.”
Jasmine frowned slightly, puzzled. A treasure? Did her mother mean a jewel?
Aladdin, ever eager to help, joined her in searching the royal treasure room. They examined glittering gems, and priceless artifacts, but nothing felt right.
Finally, as they stood, Jasmine grew still. Slowly, she turned to him.
“It wasn’t a jewel,” she said softly.
Aladdin tilted his head. “Then what was it?”
“It was my father,” she said. “That was her greatest treasure.”
She stepped closer, taking his hands in hers. “And mine…” she whispered, her voice full of certainty, “is you, Aladdin. You’re my greatest treasure.”
At last, the day of the wedding dawned over Agrabah.
The palace had been transformed. Silken banners in deep sapphire and royal gold draped from every balcony. Garlands of white jasmine flowers hung in delicate sways, their sweet fragrance filling the air. Lanterns of colored glass shimmered everywhere.
Guests from across the kingdom gathered in the grand courtyard to witness the union of their beloved princess and the young man who had won her heart. Abu, Raja, Carpet and Genie watched proudly.
Aladdin stood waiting, dressed in royal attire, his usual street-boy charm now touched with princely elegance. Yet his expression was the same: open, hopeful and completely in awe of what was about to happen.
Then the music shifted. All eyes turned.
Jasmine appeared at the far end of the courtyard.
She wore a gown that shimmered like moonlight, flowing with every step she took. Her veil, light as air, drifted behind her, and woven into her hair were tiny blossoms of jasmine, just like her mother had worn.
The Sultan stood beside her, his eyes shining with pride and emotion. Slowly, he escorted her forward.
As Jasmine walked, petals were scattered along her path, and the music swelled gently around her. But her gaze never left Aladdin.
And his never left her.
When she finally reached him, the Sultan placed her hand into Aladdin’s.
“Take care of her,” he said softly.
“With my life,” Aladdin replied.
The Sultan smiled, then stepped back.
A respected elder stepped forward to guide the ceremony.
“Today, we gather not only to witness a union,” he said, “but to celebrate a choice, freely given, and deeply cherished.”
They faced one another fully.
Aladdin spoke first, his voice quiet but sure.
“I was nothing… or at least, that’s what I thought,” he said. “But you saw something in me I couldn’t see in myself. You believed in me when no one else did. Jasmine, I promise to stand beside you, not as a prince, not as someone pretending to be more, but as myself. Always honest. Always yours.”
Jasmine’s eyes glistened.
She took a breath, then spoke. “All my life, I felt trapped, told what my future should be, who I should become. But you showed me a whole new world… one where I could choose my own path.” She smiled softly. “I choose you, Aladdin. Not for who you pretend to be, but for who you are, brave, kind, and true. I promise to walk beside you, as your equal, your partner, and your love. Always.”
Golden rings were brought forward on a small cushion.
Aladdin gently took Jasmine’s hand, sliding the ring onto her finger. “With this, I give you my heart.”
Jasmine placed the ring on his. “And I give you mine.”
The elder smiled. “Then before all gathered here… and under the blessings of love, family, and destiny… you are united.”
Aladdin hesitated only a second, then gently lifted Jasmine’s veil.
For a moment, they simply looked at each other.
And then they kissed.
It was soft at first, tender and full of meaning, then deepened into something joyful, certain, and unbreakable. Around them, the crowd erupted into cheers, music bursting into life as drums and strings filled the air. Petals rained down from above.
But the magic wasn’t over yet.
A familiar voice rang out, “Well, don’t just stand there, lovebirds!”
With a flash of blue light, the Genie appeared, grinning wider than ever. “Every royal wedding needs a grand exit!”
With a flourish, he summoned the magic carpet, which swooped gracefully down before them, hovering just above the ground.
Aladdin laughed, helping Jasmine onto it.
“Ready for another adventure?” he asked.
She grinned, eyes sparkling. “Always.”
They settled side by side, fingers intertwined.
As the carpet lifted into the air, the crowd below waved and cheered, the palace glowing in celebration beneath them.
Higher and higher they rose, the city of Agrabah stretching out in gold and sunlight.
Jasmine leaned into Aladdin, her head resting against his shoulder. “Where are we going?” she asked.
Aladdin smiled, looking out at the endless horizon. “Anywhere,” he said. “Everywhere.”
The carpet soared forward, carrying them into the open sky, into a future of their own choosing.
A whole new world… just beginning.
And they lived happily ever after.
