Chapter Text

Chapter 1

Killer blinked awake to the sound of his alarm going off. He desperately tried to slap at it only to realize it had stopped its deafening beeping on its own. He blinks his eye sockets open groggily to find Nightmare standing at the edge of his bed glaring at him brows furrowed his mouth scowling. Killer jumps up in shock, quickly he peels the blankest off his sweaty bony frame and sits up alert in seconds. He glances at the time realizing for too late that it was two hours past when he was supposed to be up training.

“Shit” killer cursed under his breath
Nightmare simply scoffed but it’s clear he didn’t see Killers misbehavior as a laughing matter. Nightmare grits his teeth.

“What do you have to say for yourself?”
His tone is steady but cold and a chill washed over the other skeleton.

“ I-I’m sorry I should have woken up ” killer stuttered trying to regain his usual laid back demeanor but failing as the pure negativity and fear filling the room made him shake.

“Vey well pick up this filth and then get down stairs to clean up your mess down there to. I’m leaving for a mission and I expect this castle to be spotless by the time I return understand?” Nightmare interrupted waving to the mess in his room.

“Ok” is all killer managed before Nightmare dissolved into a the dirty carpet leaving killer alone in the silence with a slightly slimy carpet.

He began to mindlessly clean not daring to disobey Nightmare, not questioning the unusual nature of his task. He had never asked killer to clean before, which was kinda gross, but the weird part was the rest of the castle was almost always clean. And today was no different. dragging himself downstairs he headed to the kitchen to sedate his aching grumbling stomach. Too lazy to prepare any real meal he ended up just pouring himself a bowl of the off brand cereal Nightmare had constantly stocked in their pantry.

Carelessly he threw his empty bowl into the already overflowing sink, struggling to remember the days task. Killer had always had bad memory as it was against his best interests to remember everything. Despite that there were things he would never ever forget. Like the sounds of his brothers screams and the… no that’s enough. Killer cut his own thought off by resuming the task of cleaning and blasting MSI out of his phone speakers. No silence no thoughts. Eventually though they were back and no level of hyper focused cleaning or MSI could change that.

Luckily he knew a solution to these issues. He practically stumbled back to his bedroom falling to his knees and digging around under his bed for the ultimate solution. Alcohol. No kids don’t try this at home it’s not healthy it’s not ok and it was one of his worst coping mechanism yet. Now came the only problem if Nightmare finds out he drank, there was no doubt he would be locked in the basement again, and… wait actually he didn’t mind it last time it made his brain sort of fuzzy and tingly maybe, maybe he should.

Several many beers later and Killer was wasted. Sure he never really had the best alcohol tolerance to begin with but this felt different. One plus, if you can really call using alcohol as an unhealthy coping mechanism a plus , is that he was no longer overthinking things like before now he was just under thinking everything. He just did without thinking at all.

And that is how killer ended up publicly embarrassing himself in front of a new recruit.
