Oh, To Hate (Love) A Man Like You...

Summary:

Two man fight and get gay feelings for each other at the end. That's the story

Work Text:

Dark and silent nights became more common than expected from the battlefield. No one seemed to be awake at any hour, except for a certain two.

Radec was off to patrol the area for some odd reason, which wasn’t something you would see from him. His uniform and mask still hold, covering his entire appearance from the inside, rifle placed to his side, within his reach. His glare scanned the area, with a focus on what could be coming around him, supposedly suspicious of an ambush.

Now the second awake was Raiden; his nights have become restless ever since he arrived here. He was walking around the area to keep things off his head, clearly bothered by whatever he thought. Now, as he was passing by, he noticed Radec also awake and strangely standing there. Raiden sighed as he watched Radec from his spot for a few minutes before walking forward.

Radec immediately heard footsteps coming from behind, grabbed his rifle, and pointed it as he turned in the exact direction, only to see Raiden.

“Oh, it’s only you..” Radec spoke with an unsurprised tone, lowering the gun back to his side, crossing his arms as he stared at Raiden, “What could keep you up at this hour?”

“I would wonder the same thing if I didn’t know your history as well,” Raiden remarked with a slight smirk, leaning up towards the wall behind him as he mumbled back, “and considering you, this feels out of character for you.”

“And what would you know about 'out of character'?”

Raiden’s smirk disappeared as he sighed, pushing away from the wall, “Look, Mael, whatever the hell you’re doing, it- hold on, what are you even doing?”

“What does it look like? We’ll never know if that ‘polygon man’ has many more tricks due tonight.”

Raiden shook his head, moving towards Radec, just stopping a few steps away, “Still unlikely you waste time to look after.”

“You must be a fool to think I care. None of them deserve such supervision, I be happy if you and the rest crumble."

“Then why the hell are you out here?”

“I already have told you."

“Just for yourself? For a colonel, you talk like a foolish citizen with a head full of politics”

“You’ve already heard enough. Why must I explain more?" Radec turned to leave his spot, until he felt a tight grip on his wrist.

Radec stopped, stunned as he slowly turned to face Raiden. Both of them glaring at each other for a good minute.

“Why must you be so stubborn." Raiden hissed,"You think you’re the only one here who's not against that thing?”

“I work alone. And I prefer it the way it has been."

Raiden kept his grip on Radec’s wrist, “I rather not let you, there's some of us who need your support."

“That little net boy is rather fine in a ditch than alongside my work."

“He’s a kid, you son of a bitch!”

“He is still unworthy of my knowledge, nor my help. Neither do you."

Radec released himself from Raiden and stormed away. Raiden let out a sigh of frustration as he watched Radec walk away. Although he couldn't help but think of what has happened, like that whole argument left some sort of… positive impact?

No. It couldn't be. Raiden shook it off as he went back inside.

Radec, however, was thinking of the same thing but didn't seem to ignore it as he wanted to. These were strange thoughts, strange feelings, and towards a fool like that cyborg.

It would be best if the both of them tried to sort it out someday. But they would prefer not to.
