Chapter Text
Robert's heat was coming. Shroud had been especially active this last week. With no signs of slowing down. So what was an Omega to do? Well, something stupid. The stupidest thing he probably ever thought of. Going to a bar before his heat hit. Picking out the first Alpha that smelled nice and using him or her to help. Heats died faster when an Alpha was involved. So he just needed one.
Pulling on a loose shirt and shorts he went to the near by bar. Walking in he scanned the room. Moving through the crowd on a mission. When a nice sent caught him. A taller guy, with green hair, and eyes. Robert would have laughed about the matching esthetic. But he didn't want to deal with that. He just needed someone willing to help him. Sliding over he smiled and offered to buy the other a drink. The Alpha laughed and they danced to one song before Robert leaned in and whispered what he wanted from him. The Alpha agreed and they left.
Robert had to admit a few things. He wasn't sure this was the best idea. Not even in the moment. And if it weren't for the danger around the corner, and his heat as the man ran his hands down his side. He might have turned around and left. The man for all the boasting and nice smell was absolute shit in bed. Robert remembered his Omega whining several times that he wasn't enough. But there was no time to find a new Alpha.
When Robert woke up, he pulled away from the Alpha. Grabbing his clothes as the other woke up. "Fuck, what are you still doing here?" The Alpha asked. Robert rolled his eyes.
"I'm leaving." He said, pulling his shirt on.
"Fucking whore. Don't you know you're supposed to be out of my bed before I wake up? Now the whole place reeks." He complained. Robert listened to him annoyed more than anything else. It wasn't like Robert had a lot to gather up.
Leaving that bad choice in the dirt he refocused on catching Shroud. Though in a month he realized just how bad of an idea that was when he was getting sick. And a pregnancy test proved it to be a bigger issue then he thought.
Staring at the test in his hands he ran to the store picking up five more tests. He read about this before. False positives. He just had to take another one. But why freak out when another test was broken? So he peed on all five waiting for the answer to change. But it didn't. None of them showed a different answer to what was before him.
Robert couldn't see anything but the last test in his hands. Waiting for it to change though the time was already up. It wasn't going to be changing from the answer he didn't want. Well, it's not like he didn't want pups. They were cute as could be. But, he was a hero. He knew how dangerous and how often he wouldn't be home. Fuck he knew what it would do to that kid. Not to mention he didn't even know the father. What if he had powers? Would their kid have any?
Robert spiraled. He could hardly breath as the panic attack continued. Beef curled up close to him. Sneezing and licking his hand. Robert pulled out his phone. He felt like he was dying. There was only one number saved. Just the one person Robert couldn't face anxiety enough to call. But in this moment, he couldn't think about how long it had been, just how scared he was. What he would even do with a child.
"Hello?" The voice on the older end was older, a little rougher around the edges. Robert gasped, but all that left his mouth was a whine and sob. He didn't even know what to say. "Robert? Where are you? I'll be there soon." Chase said.
When Robert still couldn't answer Chase walked him through over the phone. To breath, and some shit about purple elephants. Robert laughed a little through the tears. "Wanna tell me where I'm taking the taxi?" Chase asked.
"Chase-"
"I have your back kid. Just tell me where to be." Chase cut him off. Robert leaned back against the wall. His empty apartment would piss Chase off. But, he called for help.
Chase appeared at his door only twenty minutes later. Longer than Robert had thought the other would take. Until he saw him. The older Beta now an old man. He walked in and looked about the apartment. "What's hap-" He started when his eyes caught the tests. All of them. Still laying on the only chair in the room. Chase spun around eyes wide. He looked at Robert's stomach before then back up. "Are you?"
Robert sighed and nodded. "Yeah, but Chase what happened to you?"
"It doesn't matter. Are you okay? What happened? Where's the Alpha? I can still kill a bitch-"
Robert shook his head. "No no. No killing."
"Where is the father then?"
"Probably fucking a different Omega. I… I did something stupid." Robert started. "But, I want to hear what happened to you first. Before you yell at me for the next six hours."
As it turned out Robert was wrong. Chase scolded him for a lot longer than six hours. Though he also worried about him and talked about his apartment. Until the old beta growled. "Thats it! I can't do it. You are moving in with me until we can get this all figured out." He said, crossing his arms.
"Figure what out?" Robert asked.
"If we're keeping it." Chase answered. "You don't have to. There are things that we can do. Adoption, abortion, lots of fuckin a named shit. Or if you wanted to keep it will figure it out."
"You used a lot of we there."
"Yeah fuckin we. What am I supposed to let you do this alone? I might not be a fucking omega or alpha but you're my pup. I raised you, this is my grand pup!" Chase said, though it looked a little funny from his now older self. Robert laughed, and leaned back. He hadn't felt this light in a long time. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to keep the pup. To have a family, someone to come home to.
