Megumi sighed as he slumped on his desk. He was exhausted, putting it mildly. Finals were right around the corner, and he felt as if he had forgotten everything he learnt the entire year.
He had already gotten up late, missed the bus, and wasn’t able to focus on revising - today was NOT going according to his plans, and he absolutely detested that. The only thing that was keeping him sane (although barely) was that he was home alone.
*ring ring* (A/N: i tried okay) his phone rang. He lazily raised it up and looked at the screen - It was Yuuji. “What does he want…” Megumi grumbled internally, as he brought the phone to his ear.
“Wha-” “Fushiguro!! Fushiguro, you would never BELIEVE what happened right now!” Yuji said rapidly, gasping for breath. “Man, I wish you were here right now! Kugisaki is furious!” he laughed.
“Care to explain what happened?” Megumi replied dryly, although he was curious. Those two were always up to something - and it often ended up with them being stuck in the most mind-boggling situation.
“Well, so right now, we went to this cafe to get some boba - Kugisaki really wanted to try it out. And just as soon as we walked in, GUESS WHO WE SAW-”
“Get to the point…” Megumi groaned, resting his head on his desk, feeling even more drained.
“Sheesh, somebody’s feeling sour right now- anyways, IT WAS GOJO-SENSEI!!”
“Wait, what? Gojo-sensei? He’s back?” Megumi said, getting up suddenly. His mind briefly replayed memories of the time back when he, Nobara and Yuji used to go their overtly friendly and childish neighbor’s house for classes back in middle school. Satoru was in university back then and was like an older brother to them.
Megumi recalled how most of the time they used to fool around and engross themselves in the most ridiculous activities ever - competitions like who could stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth and say fluffy bunny, or who could burp the loudest after drinking a very concerning amount of soda in one shot (but who was going to complain - none of them were allowed to indulge like that at home). Megumi was (and still is) too dignified to participate in such tomfoolery, but was still made to take part most of the times against his will.
“... and then when we both were waiting for our drinks, he just, crept up on us. You should’ve seen Kugisaki - she was ready to hit the ceiling.” Yuji snickered.
“Huh?” Megumi said, coming back to the conversation. It had been a while since he last saw Satoru - almost 3 years ago, since he had gone abroad.
“Anyways, come over! We’re at XYZ cafe, and it’s Gojo-sensei’s treat!” Yuji said cheerily.
“You do know we have our finals day after, right.” Megumi said sullenly. He couldn’t possibly just leave his studies like this - especially with how his brain was acting up.
“Awh, come one! A small break wouldn’t hurt!” Yuuji groaned. “Pretty please? I’ll share my notes with you!”
“I’ll pass on that offer. Your notes will surely guarantee me failing.” Megumi said dryly. “Hey they’re not that bad-” Yuuji protested.
“But i will come over, i guess. I don’t really have much to do anyways right now.” Megumi sighed.
“YAY! The sea urchin finally decided to leave his cave!” he heard two voices - Nobara and Satoru, cheer from the background over the phone speaker.
“They’re so annoying….” he grumbled to himself, as he got up and grabbed his jacket, yet unable to hide the smile which was on his face. He was SO glad that none of them were there to see that.
