Work Text:

Gwendolyn was always told to be grateful for her life, that she's lucky to have what she has, that she should love her parents for doing the bare minimum for her.

But she didn't ask for this. She didn't ask to be born, or to receive a good life, or to have parents who do the bare minimum.

Sure, she's glad she has what she has, but she never asked for it. She shouldn't be forced to accept her parents' abuse because they decided to give her life and treat her like crap for it.

She didn't ask to be called worthless for a single mistake, to be punished because she copied their terrible behavior, to be called ungrateful because they go out of their way to get her the wrong things.

Her parents provided the bare minimum for her in terms of material things, but she didn't have to be grateful for a life she never wanted when she was treated like garbage just for existing.
