Chapter Text
‘First day of university, nice!’ Parrot thoughts, though at least he had some friends with him that he knew in there. Theo, Jumper, and Leo. The most trusted people. Yeah, totally. He should stop being sarcastic, since they’re actually loyal and trustworthy to Parrot.
The campus looked nice, although nice is an understatement. Maybe… beautiful? ‘I should genuinely expand my very ass vocabulary.’ Well- he technically does, I mean, hey! At least he’s trying his best. Except Theo… while Parrot was having his own monologue in his thoughts, he felt a hand in his shoulder. Parrot looked over, it was Theo. What a coincidence he was just having a monologue about Theo that… he was not trying.
Hell, how did Theo even get to university?
“Hey, Parrot! You look… pale.” He greeted, Parrot huffs. “Is that how are our conversation will be going? Me looking absolutely pale that you don’t even realise that how I’m so tired of life?” He rants. Though he knows Theo wasn’t been listening to a single word he has said.
“Did you even heard what was I saying, Theo?”
“No,” Parrot glared. “I mean-! Not my fault you were speaking fast that I can’t even understand! That’s not even MY fault!” Theo defended himself, like he doesn’t have a lawyer in court.
“You say this everytime when you don't listen-”
The bell rang, as Parrot was talking. He sighs, giving one last glare at Theo.
“Welp. There's the bell, class is going to start soon. See you.” As Parrot was walking away, he heard Theo called out his name.
“What do you want now?” Parrot looked at him, he was hurrying to go to his class. Since his class is far. “I want to know where’s your class is... so we can walk ’n talk together!” He explains enthusiastically, although you can hear the nervousness behind his voice.
“Do you not know where your next class is?”
Theo nods.
“What class do you have?” Theo grabs out his timetable, English. ”English.”
Parrot sighs, pinching his temples. “It’s a lucky day for you, I guess. I have the same class as you, what a coincidence...”
He starts walking away, though Theo didn’t move. “What? You taking your time or you’re just scared I’m going to jump the shit out of you since you don’t even know what to do?” Theo dramatically gulps. “Gulp... no...”
“Well, okay then.”
Parrot walks away, Theo follows behind. Very quietly.
‘This idiot bro...’ Parrot thinks to himself. He’d better meet up with the others with break, he can’t stand Theo’s dumbness, though he likes his company, though he was a bit egotistical.
The bell rang, it’s lunch time. Parrot didn’t even realise that it’s already lunch, or the bell has rang, time went too fast. As he was packing away, he was thinking about to even study one of his hardest subjects, sure he was the smartest kid in here, doing problem solving or going out adventures. Although he’ll doubt there’s another person here in university who is better than him. Which their name is... Wifies.
That guy is the smartest person in the campus. Also socially awkward, and an introverted guy. Nobody even dared to talk to him, people never noticed him. He wasn’t quite popular around the campus except Parrot. Speaking of Parrot, he was well-known. Friended a lot of people, though still not being in an actual friendship, like having an actual best friend. Anyway, though Wifies did actually have friends. They were Ken and Wato. People call them 'Debunk Trio', and it actually suites them quite well as Parrot thinks. The trio does love 'debunking' escape rooms and such, and they were also pretty smart. Anywho, back to that part when Wifies was an unpopular guy in the campus.
The thing is, he is smart, and well-liked, but still has little amount of friends. Parrot wondered why Wifies doesn’t have that many friends, he looked like an approachable guy and easy to talk to without any judgement whatsoever. I mean, having a small amount of friends is okay, since you don’t have to focus one of your friends at time. So, it’s fair. He could possibly relate to Wifies, having a lot of friends could be overwhelming and a bit stressful in his opinion. Though, at least he has company. One thing is, nobody noticed him. Except only one,
Parrot.
Parrot was the person who’d admire Wifies from afar, admiring him at awe as how he works efficiently and... smoothly. Like it’s a normal thing for him! He doesn’t even get stressed at all! Behind his straight face, Parrot bets that Wifies DOES get stressed, although it isn’t very visual due to his facial expressions. Parrot also thinks that that’s the other reason why people doesn’t approach him that much because of his face, he looked like a cold, hearted person. But in the inside, he was a soft and a fun guy to hang out with.
’I think I should go to the library to study,’ Parrot thoughts, ’since I don’t have anything to do besides eat and hang out in the courtyard with Jumper and Theo, bonus if Leo is there actually.’ He scoffs at himself while thinking that. Oh but whoops! That decision he will regret later on.
As he strolled his way to the library, he cannot lie, the library was drop dead gorgeous. It was a vintage style library, and it made Parrot interested about it. It also has a second floor, a small cafe, tables and chairs, and some bookshelves. He really wants to complain about why do they need that much books in here? Nobody won’t ever read all of that, except imbeciles who kept doing challenges who will read all the books in the library in one go, and might get sleep deprived from all of that reading challenge.
University was a chaos, Parrot shall say. He found a seat near the window, neat! It’s also in the upstairs, too. Sat down, started taking notes... and reviewing. Anyway, all of his old mates were in the same college as he does, except for Wifies, Ken, and Wato actually. They weren’t familiar faces, they were new people that Parrot never knew. In his perspective, it would be nice to befriend them. There will be no harm in that, right? Well, it does. For Parrot, mind you. He developed this... strange feeling to Wifies. A feeling that he cannot ignore. ’This is unbelievable. Unacceptable, even. How did I even get this feeling EVEN THOUGH I BARELY EVEN KNOW HIM?!’ Parrot covered his hands in his face, groaning from frustration. And yet, it is completely unavoidable.
“Okay, Parrot. Snap out of it. This is not you, and I need to focus on my studies.” He muttered angrily, but quietly, at himself. Fortunately, it worked for him. He Parrot started to focus better, there was no distractions, just him studying. It felt nice for the first time when he does not have a companion beside him, and also argues with him with the most stupidest thing he have argued about.
Parrot needed to take a break, his hands were sore from writing notes endlessly. He was about to look up, but he saw Wifies few tables away from his table. Parrot looked at him as long as he didn’t want to do, and oh boy, that was the worst thing he could ever done in his life. Staring blankly at Wifies without him even knowing, and it made him look weird from doing that! Wifies looked so... normal. Laughing with Ken and Wato, their own little group. He was just admiring Wifies at this point. Parrot thinked that Wifies felt that someone was watching him behind, which is true and it is Parrot, he looked behind him then locked eyes with Parrot.
The thing is, the library was kind of crowded too! How did Wifies even noticed him through this wave of students? But the lucky thing was that, even though there was kind of a lot of students in there, they were still quiet. Being respectful to the librarians and to the other students who were studying, and trying to not make a commotion nor loud noise.
They’ve stayed in that same exact position, staring at each other from afar. Heat started creeping up at Parrot’s neck. ’I’m I blushing?’ Parrot blinked, he was. And he was so, so fucking doomed. ’Oh. Oh... oh crap I’m done for.’
He looked away from Wifies so fast that it was suspicious that he was staring at him. Parrot quickly packed his stuff away, double-checking if he forgot any items with him. Or else Wifies will saw his forgotten stuff, and will give it to him. Parrot speed walked out of the building, going to the courtyard to meet up with Jumper and the others. “Nope nope nope NOPE. I am Not dealing with that today thank you.” He muttered once again.
Parrot was trying hard to compose himself, trying not to be looked like he was blushing the whole time when he was going to the courtyard to meet up with the group. Though eventually it worked once again, and he was back to his usual self.
‘This will be the last time and first time that I will be in the library because of that.’ Parrot thoughts, although he’ll doubt that he will still go to the library to study.
