The next full moon or werewolf snuggles

Summary:

"I'm not scared," Kiera said calmly, slowly shuffling closer.
"I know you're not," Catalina whispered, "but maybe I am."

It's the first full moon after the events of WAOTBBW. There's a lot of fluff. Idk what else to put, if you like the girls or fluff you might like this fic. (This is also the first fic I've ever posted:) )

Notes:

Hi, this is the first fic I've ever posted, it was written in one of my notebooks years ago but I recently (finally) got round to getting an ao3 account, so hopefully I'll post some more fanfics in the future:)

For catalina in wolf form I've used both 'it' and 'her' pronouns
And due to it being written years ago I did change a couple things from the version in my notebook, mostly just re-worded a sentence or two and change the pov for one part of it as it made more sense from that characters view point

I think that's all, thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy! :)

Work Text:

Catalina sat on the edge of her bed staring out the window at the night sky, her fingers absentmindedly tracing the edges of the leaf necklace. Her sister moved to sit next to her.
"I'm not scared," Kiera said calmly, slowly shuffling closer.
"I know you're not," Catalina whispered, "but maybe I am."
Kiera placed a hand on Cat's shoulder, "why?"
Catalina hesitated. She hugged her knees to her chest.
"What if I loose control? What if I hurt someone? What if I hurt you?"
"You won't," Kiera insisted.
"How can you be sure?"
"I'll make sure you don't, I promise."
Kiera wrapped her arms around her sister, pulling her into a hug. Cat smiled, resting her head on Kiera's shoulder, "thank you."

The full moon shone brightly in the night sky, it's glow casting shadows on the floor. Kiera glanced up from where she sat on her bed, Catalina had stopped pacing now, her eyes glowing red and limbs beginning to twitch and shift. It looked uncomfortable to say the least and Kiera really hoped it wasn't painful.
The now-wolf howled, standing tall on it's back legs before dropping onto all-fours. Slowly and cautiously, Kiera slid off the bed taking a few steps towards it. She held out her hand, inching closer in what she hoped was a reassuring and non-threatening way.
They was a pause, before the wolf carefully lifted its front paw and took a step.
Another pause.
Then it lifted it's head to meet the outstretched hand. Kiera felt the surprising softness of werewolf fur as it allowed her to run her palm over it's head and neck, the wolf nuzzling into her chest when she wrapped the both of them in a loving hug.

Lance carefully opened the door to the girls room, quietly peering inside. The giant wolf was curled up on the bed nearest the window, protectively wrapped around her sister who was sound asleep suggling into her fur. Lance smiled, closing the door.

The girls were safe and loved, and finally home
