Chapter Text
It wasn't rare for something to threaten the townsfolk in the neighboring villages of Dark Cacao Kingdom. Although, it wasn't uncommon for the cream wolves to attack the village’s livestock, or its residents.
Although, Through the past few months livestock have been going missing during the harsh winter storms the land had to offer. Most suspect that something has been swooping away the animals while no one could see them through the snow. Which did no good to the residents or the kingdom.
To fix this situation, Dark Cacao sent groups of his finest warriors to the neighboring villages, hoping to prevent any more livestock from going missing.
The air grew a numbing cold as the blizzard began devouring the village in clouds. Chocolate Toffee stood at the brink of the village, scanning the woods for any threat. Ready to command the warriors he was set to lead from whatever monster that dared to step near.
The wind roared in their ears and the longer they stood the more their dough felt iced over, but they were Dark Cacao warriors, no mere snow storm was to stop them, not even for a–
A howl rang through the air, cutting through the wind as if it never existed. The warriors shifted into a defensive position, awaiting an attack, meanwhile Chocolate Toffee’s eyes dragged along the tree line, attempting to pinpoint the direction of which the howl came from.
Chocolate Toffee froze, his eyes going wide as he spotted a little cookie standing behind a tree. The cookie watched him curiously and cautiously, staying behind the tree with his tail swaying… Wait— tail?
Chocolate Toffee stared, not understanding what he was seeing, was it a cookie or a wolf? Was the cold getting to him that much to the point he was hallucinating?
The little cookie's tail dropped slightly, his ears lowered once he noticed Chocolate Toffee's eyes on him. A group of howls came from the forest and a warrior called out to Chocolate Toffee, something about cream wolves. Chocolate Toffee's eyes darted to the tree line of the woods, indeed, cream wolves had managed to surround most of the outskirts of the village while hidden in the storm.
Chocolate Toffee's eyes went back to the kid, spotting a cream wolf snatching the boy away by his collar. A cream wolf barked, leading Chocolate Toffee's attention to the approaching attack. He closed his eyes shut tightly, focusing his attention to the current situation.
Almost on cue, as Chocolate Toffee sent out the command, the cream wolves began attacking.
The fight ended in the cream wolves fleeing, despite being injured or not, they weren't able to secure a catch of food from the livestock. No warrior seemed harmed, but that didn't mean the cold wasn’t getting to their dough.
Chocolate Toffee looked towards the tree the boy was hidden behind, his footprints slowly disappearing to the storm's winds. He looked towards the warriors as they spoke, some mentioned the wolves, one or two complained about the blizzard that seemed to be passing. None mentioned anything about the boy, he definitely needed to inform his majesty about this.
But after that, he definitely had to go check up on Caramel Arrow, since he wasn't able to get a babysitter for her today.
