Luz sat at the small dining table of the Noceda kitchen, a smile plastered onto her face
The room was mostly dark, except for the array of candles that had been lit to provide ambiance
Amity sat in the seat across from her, looking lovingly at her
Camila had taken the others out for a movie so that the two could have an nice quiet romantic dinner all to themselves
Honestly, she wasn't surprised that her mom allowed it. She could read Luz like a book and knew that maybe she needed something that would make her feel a bit better about not getting the portal door to reappear
The voice of her cotton candy haired goddess snapped her thoughts in her head
"Did you enjoy the the entree?"
Luz nodded, her mom had picked them each up some of her favorite sandwiches from the local shop and Amity had heated up some fries to go along with them
".....So then, are you ready for some dessert?"
Amity rose from her seat and hurried over to the fridge, and was illuminated by the soft white light as she opened the door and removed a plate of something she couldn't quite make out in the dark
"I found an interesting recipe on the internet and it looked so good! It was easy to make too!"
The objects came into view, and Luz stared at the monstrosities before her
It felt like she had been staring for an eternity before the nightmarish words escaped Amity's mouth
"Go Ahead, try one...."
Luz looked at the plate, then to Amity. She took a deep breath and took one readying herself to take a bite as the mantra echoed in her head
"Don't ruin the mood, Don't ruin the mood, Don't ruin the mood..."
