Together, they still look the picture-perfect summer couple, blending beautifully with the bright green grass and sweet flowers.

According to our source, they were seen “kissing passionately like a pair of teenagers” on their shared blanket, and “feeding each other wolfhooks”. After the disastrous end of Scaramouche’s last relationship, fans have been wondering when we would hear news about his romantic endeavours, but many were still surprised by the suddenness of it all. We, and them, are also quite baffled that Scaramouche, someone who was previously so tight-lipped about his relationships, chose to spend such a public date with his new beau. We spoke with director and producer Xavier about the filming process and the thought behind the genre change.

La Gouttiere: It was a bold choice to commit to the comedy of such a story with such a serious tone, what was the motivation behind this change?

Xavier: (Laughs.) This is probably the most asked question I have gotten since the trailer dropped. And I get it, I do. From drama to comedy is a big shift, isn’t it?

La Gouttiere: It really is, and bold, too. A lot can go wrong.

Xavier: But that’s the beauty of creating, the boldness, the decision to take risks. When I first read the book, I knew exactly who I wanted to see as the main characters, and it is undeniable that TARTAGLIA’s charm shines most in his romantic comedies. So I sat down with the writers, and I asked them, how do we do this?

La Gouttiere: And it clearly paid off, the movie tickets were sold out in all the big cinemas.

Xavier: I expected many people to want to see TARTAGLIA, but it shocked even me. He really is a big name in the industry. And he has earned his spot.

La Gouttiere: How was working with an established name such as him? We hear horror stories about actors being a nightmare once they get too famous.

Xavier: I’ve definitely met my fair share of those at events, obviously not naming names. (Laughs.) But not TARTAGLIA. He truly is as charming as the characters he plays. Perhaps that’s why he portrays them so well.

La Gouttiere: He had remarkable chemistry with his supporting cast, not only Miss Kamisato, but also Dainsleif. What made you risk casting a previously rather unknown actor for something already risky?

Xavier: If I’m already taking risks, why not go all the way? I knew his previous work for a while and was just waiting to have the right project to send his way, his acting has always left me quite intrigued. And it was definitely the right choice. I can’t see anyone else portray his part any better.

La Gouttiere: Before our time is up, we have one last question. The book series spans five parts so far. Are you planning to continue the series?

Xavier: I obviously can’t promise anything just yet, but the thing I can say is that I love those books, and I love what we have turned them into with our adaptation. I would be very curious to continue to explore how a slight shift in genre affects a plot and its characters.

La Gouttiere: Thank you so much, Xavier, it was a pleasure speaking with you. We urge all our readers to give the movie a watch, as it was definitely our highlight of the year so far!

In Wind Gliding, the glider has a regulated wing span, otherwise you are allowed to gear up as you want. Most gliders, meaning the people (yes, we get just as confused as you do!), choose to keep their clothes and gear as light and tight as possible, to reduce friction and gain additional speed. Here, milliseconds can cost you the win!

The goal is simple: reach the finish line first, while not missing any of the relevant checkpoints. The checkpoints, rings in the sky which have to be passed through, give many people trouble as any misjudgement of angle can make your glider lose momentum or worse, fall. In the freestyle competition, certain manoeuvres must be added between the checkpoints to avoid penalties, making it more of a dance than a race.

All in all, a visually stunning but dangerous sport that we will rather watch on TV than participate in ourselves.

For one, he’s not exactly new. Just two years ago he starred as the main character in the indie historical drama 500: Fall of a Nation in which he played The Twilight Sword who attempted to save his nation from certain death by the Gods. He gives a stunning and emotional performance that certainly brought us to tears.

This seems to be a trend in his performances, of which there are a few, both in theatre and more small movies. The emotions he manages to evoke are tangible. With his handsome face and soulful eyes, he manages to make even the most hardcore movie buff fall in love with his characters.

We are certainly excited to see where the path takes him now that his name is properly out there. Hopefully back on the screen with TARTAGLIA as their chemistry together was truly magical.
