Work Text:

The way Sanghyuk met the love of his life, Taesan, was a rather funny but a very uninteresting story. It happened years, years ago, in a rather run down sandwich place that his best friend Sungho worked at.

He very vividly remembers the day.

Riwoo was waiting near the counter for Sungho to be over with his shift when the most charming looking boy came into the store with a very bold looking fashion choice. He stood right beside Riwoo, looked directly at Sungho and asked for the regular chicken sandwich in a rather shy voice.

Huh? Shy? For a man with such edgy and dark fashion choices, he sure was shy with his words.

"With no pickles, please.." Riwok hears him say in the smallest voice possible. Gosh. This boy was gonna make Riwoo's heart burst with his adorable demeanor. Riwoo was a hundred percent sure Sungho hadn't heard the taller boy, so he decides to give the boy a little help.

"Excuse me! He said no pickles please" Riwoo says rather loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear. Riwoo was embarrassed, sure, but it was all very worth it to get the shy boy's number. They were 18 and 19 then and now at 27 and 28, their fiasco about pickles still hasn't died down it seems.

"Eww papa, I said no pickles!" comes a voice rather too cheerful to be complaining.

"Nini no, just try it, it's good for you." Says a very older voice, soft but firm, trying to get their daughter to eat the pickles.

Nini. Their very lovely daughter who turned 7 just this March, was nothing but a ray of sunshine in their life, everything they've ever wished for.

Riwoo gets up from the bed and head towards the source of the voice, the kitchen. His heart swells and probably grows 10 times bigger in his chest due to the beautiful moment of his husband and daughter, his little family.

"How hypocritical of you, Taesan-ah, feeding little Nini the very same pickles you despise so very much." Riwoo says with a hint of teasing and fondness in his voice, bending down to kiss Nini's cheeks as good morning.

"Papa! Thank you. Please save me from Papa Taesan." Nini says giggling as she hugs Riwoo tightly, refusing to let him get up with her small hands caging him down.

"Good morning, sweetheart." Taesan says, giving him a sweet smile as he continues, "Okay Nini, you don't have to to have pickles anymore, I quit." He says putting the jar away as he gives them both a little smile of defeat.

"That's right, Taesan. Remember when–"

"Stop Papa, I don't want to hear about you guys' first encounter anymore, I'm tire of it!" Nini whines which makes both Taesan and herself burst into a fit if giggles .

"Yes. So funny." Riwoo says, rather very fondly for a man supposed to be mad— as he looks over at his family laughing happily and smiles again.

Truly all he has ever asked for.
