Work Text:
Alongside a dirt trail, the newly reformed Rising Volt Tacklers were walking towards whatever destination they needed to go to. On this march towards their new adventure, both Liko and Roy started to talk and catch up with each other. The two haven't talked to one another for about a WHOLE year, so it makes sense why they would talk about what the other did in that time span. The topic ranged from what type of training Roy did in Kalos, to all the things Liko accomplished in her time studying in Indigo Academy. It was…nice for the two trainers to finally interact with each other after so, so long. However, the two teens weren't the only ones that were catching up. No. Just trailing a bit behind them were another pair of best friends that had also missed each other during that one year of no contact.
Crocalor and Meowscarada.
Yes, the fire croc and grass cat deeply missed one another as well and, just like their respective trainers, were using the walk as an excuse to catch up. As Pokemon of course, they were able to communicate with each other using the natural language that all Pokemon can easily understand. Which comes in quite handy if, let's say, two Pokemon started to gossip about their trainers.
"Just look at those two. You wouldn't think they were apart for a year, by just looking at them." Meowscarada commented on how close Liko and Roy were. It turns out that even a year apart couldn't break the friendship that those two have.
"Yeah but I mean both of them were always really close with each other. It shouldn't be surprising that even now their bond is still strong." Crocalor stated.
Meowscarada crossed her paws across her chest. "True and I'm happy that they're still close but…" She paused a bit, turning her head at the two trainers. Liko was giggling at whatever Roy had said to her, and both were smiling brightly. It was good to see Liko smile so wide again. Meowscarada turned her attention back to Crocalor and resumed what she was saying. "Still. It's a little annoying to see them tip toe around their feelings, even now."
Crocalor chuckled. "I knoooow right?? You think after not seeing each other for a full year they would finally confess but no!!" Crocalor complained. It seems that the subject of both Liko and Roy's was, and still is, a big topic that many of the Pokemon talk about. "Though to be fair, I think tip towing about feelings is a human trait or something like that. I don't know, that's what Cap told me….humans are weird."
"Hah! You can say that again." Both Meowscarada and Crocalor laughed. They laughed like the old friends they were. It was really fun for the two starter Pokemon to chat with each other again. They have been really close ever since they met, back when they were just a Sprigatito and a Feucoco. They had lots to talk about, just like Liko and Roy did.
"Ahh I gotta say Meowsy, I've missed talking to ya." Crocalor said, trying to wipe a tear with his very stubby arms. "I mean don't get me wrong I like talking to Kilowattrel, Cap, and Lucario but it's just not the same y'know?"
"Yeah yeah I know. I missed you too, Crocalor." Meowscarada softly replied back. She usually wasn't one for mushy feelings, but getting to finally connect with her best friend again did make her feel just a little emotional.
Only a little.
The grass cat then gained a pensive look on her face as her thoughts were suddenly taken over by something Crocalor had said. More specifically someone he said. Lucario. She's only seen him the one time, when he fought against Ann's Samurott back at Indigo Academy. He was mysterious and honestly…kinda cool. Meowscarada wouldn't say it out loud, her sassiness and slight ego wouldn't allow it, but she did think it. Quite often even. Something about him was just…interesting to her. From his sleek coat of fur, to the metal spikes he has on his chest and paws. He had this kind of nonchalant aura (pun not intended) about him. For Arcues' sake he's yellow! Meowscarada thought Lucarios could only be blue! He was just so…interesting to her.
"Something on your mind?" Crocalor suddenly asked, breaking Meowscarada out of her inner thoughts.
"Eh?" Meowscarada turned her gaze down towards where the fire croc was. "Oh uh yeah actually. What can you tell me about that new friend of yours? Lucario I mean."
"Lucario?" Crocalor titled his head to the left. Why did Meowscarada want to know about Lucario? It was unlike her to be so interested in someone. Especially someone she's barely met. "Uh well…he's strong, kinda stoic at times, and he's also pretty cool." Meowscarada nodded her head at his description. They all made sense to her. "But…he's also kinda socially awkward?"
Well that got her by surprise.
"Socially awkward?" How could someone so cool and awesome looking be socially awkward?? "Why does he get anxious around others or something?"
"Ehh…not really. It's more like…" Crocalor paused, unsure on what was that best way to put this. "It's more like he's just not really used to being with a bunch of people and Pokemon. Even in the months he traveled with Roy and the rest of us, he's still not really the best when it comes to conversing with anyone. The point is that even if he may appear standoffish, he's not. He just doesn't really know how to interact with anyone in the appropriate way, and would just rather go train or meditate instead." Crocalor explained in the best way he could. The fire croc didn't want to paint Lucario in this unfriendly and cold manner because he wasn't like that. The yellow aura dog had moments where he was kind and actually kinda funny. He just…had a hard time expressing it.
"I see…" Meowscarada turned her gaze towards the dirt path below. The way Lucario was described kind of reminded Meowscarada of, well, her back when she was just a little Sprigatito. Back when she lived in that feline sanctuary with all the other cat-like Pokemon, she would be predominantly by herself most of the time. Not because she wanted to, but because she just didn't really know how to fit in with the other Sprigatito's. So she couldn't help but connect the parallels between her and Lucario.
"Why did you want to know? It's kinda unlike you to be so interested in any Pokemon. Not saying that it's a bad thing just…y'know a little odd." Crocalor had once again broken Meowscarada out of her inner thoughts. Sheesh since when did she start daydreaming like Liko? Suppose the whole like-Pokemon, like-Trainer thing had truth to it after all.
"Uh…I don't know, I guess I was just curious." Meowscarada somewhat brushed off. She didn't feel like explaining why she was really asking Crocalor especially since she knows he will tease her relentlessly. It was a good question though. Why was she so intrigued by this yellow Lucario? He should just be another Pokemon to her, and yet he had gotten her attention so easily. It sort of bothered her that she wanted to learn and know more about him. Like she had to know or else her life would be over. But at the same time she kinda likes this weird fuzzy sensation in her chest. It made her feel…happy in an odd way. Ugh! She doesn't know. Why do feelings have to be so frustrating! Maybe Meowscarada will consult Hattrem about all this stuff, she's good with emotions and all that junk.
"Well…ok then." Crocalor said, turning from staring up towards the grass cat and in front of him. He knew there was more to it than that but he decided to let it go for now…and also he REALLY didn't want to take a Flower Trick to the dome right now.
The two starter Pokemon walked in silence, staring at Liko and Roy ahead of them, who were still having a grand old time. Meowscarada continued to think about Lucario. Everything those she had seen and was described to her had made him so…alluring to the usually uppity grass cat. It made her…feel things.
"Oh!" Crocalor suddenly chirped up. "I forgot to mention! Lucario has this weird puppy side to him. Like whenever Roy scratches him right behind the corner of his ear, his tail starts to wag, and sometimes he also has the habit of copying all the things Roy does as well!." The fire croc added on. He can't believe he almost forgot to mention that!
"Huh? Really??" Meowscarada uttered a tone of shock and slight intrigue.
"Yep!" Crocalor assured." It's honestly kinda adorable when he does stuff like that. Though naturally he doesn't like when others bring it up. He gets a little embarrassed by it."
"Hmm…ok." While the little detail was pretty amusing, it just made Meowscarada even MORE interested and allured by the yellow Lucario. She made the mental note to try and talk to Lucario one day. She really just wanted to learn and know more about and perhaps…maybe get a little close to him…just enough to uh chat with him of course. That's all, there's no other reason. Nope. None.
At least she thought so.
It's been about a day or so since then. After having an encounter with some Laquium crazed Steelixes, both Liko and Roy decided to take a rest for the day and set up camp in a grassland near a lake that was not small but also not big either. Currently all the Pokemon were out of their Pokeballs, including one certain grass cat and her new yellow fixation. Liko and Roy decided to start cooking dinner for tonight. Some of the Pokemon, like Hattrem, Cap, and Crocalor help the two trainers in cooking. While some others, like Kilowattrel and Pagogo go do their own thing whether it's flying in the sky or just wandering around the area. Usually, Meowscarada would go and help Liko cook, as that was something she quite liked doing. This time however, she thought that she should maybe do something else this time around. As from the corner of her eyes she notices that one Pokemon decided to go sit near the lake and do, what Meowscarada assumes at least, some meditation. Obviously this was none other than Lucario, Meowscarada's new hyper fixation.
Seeing him sitting down and meditating in front of an open lake made the yellow Lucario so much cooler than he already was. Meowscarada debated on whether or not she should go and chat with him. She had always wanted to have a chat with him alone from the others and this was the perfect time to do it. The only problem was…she was extremely nervous. Why was she nervous?? She's done much more dangerous things before, hell she's faced and fought legendaries! Why was talking to Lucario so nerve wracking?? Why was she scared of the fact he might not want to talk to her?? What if he-
NO!
Meowscarada slapped her face with both of her paws. "Get it together girl!" She told herself. "You haven't even done anything yet, so what's the point in spiraling about what ifs that don't matter! Just go there and talk with him like any other regular Pokemon. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less." Meowscarada began psyching herself up. All she wanted to do was to go chat with Lucario, just to get to know him better. It's logical to want to get to know the new team member better. There was no emotional or sentimental reasoning behind it, only purely logical. Yeah that's what it was. Finally, after gathering the courage Meowscarada took a big deep breath, before trekking towards the yellow Lucario.
Her heart hammered in her chest, with each step forward she took. She feared that if continued, the ground itself would break apart. Eventually though, she reached her destination and sat down next to Lucario. At first, she stared out in the open lake in front of her, but then slowly she moved her eyes towards Lucario next to her. She caught a glimpse of him and saw…that his eyes were completely shut. Right. He was meditating. Meowscarada waved a paw in front of his face. Wow he was completely out of it. Meowscarada returned her paw to her lap and then began drumming her paws on her lap. Everything was just really awkward. She glanced at him again, this time turning her entire head to look at him. Did he even know she was here? Did he know he was even here? Meowscarada doesn't really know how mediating works, since she's never done it. She found the idea of just sitting still boring, she would much rather run around or take a nap in the sun.
At last after just sitting and staring at Lucario awkwardly, Meowscarada made her presence known. "Yo." She called out.
Lucario's ears twitched indicating that he heard Meowscarada's greeting. He slowly opened his eyes and peaked out at who was trying to talk to him. "Oh uh hello." Lucario greeted back. He was a bit taken back that the Pokemon who was talking to him wasn't Cap nor Crocalor but instead it was…Meowscarada. "You're Meowscarada, correct?
"Yep! The one and only." Where the hell did this sudden boost of confidence come from? She was a nervous mess just a second ago, now she's acting all cool?? "Just thought I'd say hi and maybe compliment you on what you did to those Steelixes back there." Meowscarada said, with her usual tone of voice.
"Well thank you, but it was a team effort. You helped as well, with your speed and ability. You're uh a great battler…as well." That last part came out pretty clunkily, proving that Lucario wasn't really the best at conversations.
Meowscarada lit up. He just complimented her?!? That made Meowscarada squeal like an Oinkolonge inside. She didn't know why but that made her super happy. Sure he did say it pretty stiffly but hey he still called her great! She calmed herself down before talking again. "Well it's me after all, so that's natural." She spoke, her slight arrogance and ego poking through. "But still you did most of the work with your…" Meowscarada trailed off.
"Mega Evolution." Lucario finished for her.
"Yeah that. It was kinda cool." Kinda cool was putting it lightly. It was straight up awesome! Seeing Lucario completely dominate and out maneuver those Steelixes was the coolest thing she's ever seen! Alright that was probably an exaggeration but the point still stands, it was awesome. Meowscarada didn't say that out loud obviously because she didn't want to come off as fan girling, even though she a thousand percent was.
"Thanks." Lucario thanked again. "I take pride in my skills and abilities."
"Yeah, me too." Meowscarada also took pride in her skills as well. Perhaps a little too much though. She could sometimes come off as arrogant, and well egoistical.
Silence fell between the two Pokemon. It wasn't awkward but it wasn't completely comfortable either. It was just…neutral. Lucario averted his gaze from Meowscarada and instead his eyes wandered around the area. It was clear that Lucario wasn't used to having a conversation for this long. He is a Pokemon of a couple words, he doesn't say much outside of a couple words. So it was admittedly a little harrowing and daunting for him. Especially since it was Meowscarada who was talking to him, a Pokemon who he had interacted exactly once beforehand. That being when the two fought against those crazed Steelixes. He noted that they were a pretty good team when they fought alongside each other. Lucario didn't really think much of it at first but now…hm.
Meowscarada gaze was hard stuck on Lucario. This is the closest she's been with him, which allowed her to notice LOTS of things about the yellow aura dog. For instance his height. Lucario was a little short, well compared to Meowscarada at least. Meowscarada didn't really know much about how humans measure their height, but from her shallow understanding of it she would say that Lucario was exactly one foot shorter than her. Not like that was a bad thing, because if anything it just made him more alluring to her. Especially since his overall physical build is like THAT. Like he was quite lean but also very muscular as well. Lucario became even more muscular in his mega form. It was obvious that he took his training seriously. His muscles and fit body was just starting at Meowscarada. A part of her just wanted to stick her paw out and touch them.
Before she could do that though, the logical part of her brain made Meowscarada speak up to break the silence. "So how come you're yellow? Aren't Lucario supposed to be blue?" The grass cat asked. This had been a question that was bothering her in the back of her mind for a while now.
Lucario perked up and turned his attention back towards Meowscarada. "Ah well you see I was just born this way. I'm what they call a shiny Pokemon I believe. Hence why I am yellow, instead of blue." This wasn't the first time that the aura dog had to explain to another the reason why he was the color that he was, and it definitely won't be the last.
Meowscarada hummed. "Oh yeah. I think I remember hearing about certain Pokemon being of a different color from the rest of their species." Wow this Lucario is a shiny and can mega evolve? Just how impressive was this guy?? "Well I think the color looks nice on you." She complimented. Yellow did look good on him though to be fair…
He looked good in general.
"Oh uh…thanks." Lucario was a little stunned. He was used to getting praise for his battling skills, not for well…his physical features. It was strange, but it wasn't entirely uncomfortable…a bit of him kinda liked it. "Y'know in Kalos I was called the 'Yellow Flash' because of my blitzing speed and, well, me being yellow." Lucario didn't know why he added that part. He usually didn't go around boasting about the title he was given, but for some reason he wanted Meowscarada to know. It was like he wanted to impress her. For what purpose? He didn't quite know yet.
"Really?" Dang he had a cool nickname too?? Was everything about this guy dope and awesome? Meowscarada wondered if she could get a cool title like that. Maybe something like, the 'Masked Magician.' Eh. It sounded a bit cheesy. She'll workshop on a better name later. "So then 'Yellow Flash' why are you here, and y'know not with everyone else back there?" Meowscarada said, playing with the invisible stem of her flower petal.
"Well it's not that I dislike being surrounded by others, it's just I would rather use my free time to train and get stronger. I always want to sharpen my skills whenever I can." Lucario's face returned to his normal stoic expression, as he answered Meowscarada's question. "Besides, the view of the lake is quite nice." He gestured out in front of him.
Meowscarada turned to look at the lake in front of her. The sun made it glisten and sparkle beautifully. It was a pretty view, but Meowscarada thinks that there was a nicer view right next to her "I see. I get that." Back when she was a Floragatto, she would use whatever free time she had and train until she was tired. Albeit, it probably wasn't as intense as Lucario's training but nonetheless she can relate. "But why mediation? What does that help train?" Meowscarada asked. The grass cat always thought that training consisted of fighting others and attacking the same place using the same move. Not…sitting still with your eyes closed.
"Well mediation helps me focus and hone-in on my aura." Lucario explained.
Meowscarada nodded her head. "Oh alright, and what is aura exactly?" She asked. Meowscarada's knowledge on aura is quite shallow, so she asked in hopes that Lucario would further educate her…and totally not because she just wanted an excuse to talk to him longer.
"Hmm. Let's see…" Lucario mulled over the question, trying to figure out what would be the best way to explain what aura is. "Aura is the life force that everything has. It's like a wave that emits spiritual energy. It's what allows me to sense others and feel others, while also allowing me to strengthen my physical power."
"Huh. Ok. So is that how you were able to sense those Steelixes, even when they went underground?" Meowscarada was a little curious on how Lucario was able to know where those Steelixes always were.
"Yes exactly!" Lucario confirmed. He seemed pretty animated about this aura stuff. Like he was actually having fun talking and chatting with someone. He even had a small smile on his muzzle and on my Arceus was the most adorable thing Meowscarada has ever seen, and this time that wasn't an exaggeration.
"Wow. That's pretty cool." Meowscarada was genuinely wowed. Aura sounded very interesting and really awesome. She wondered if she could use it as well. "Think I can use aura too?" She asked.
"Maybe. But you'll have to train long and hard to even tap into aura. Aura is something that not a lot of Pokemon or humans can fully utilize, after all." Lucario explained. He was quite the expert on aura, and how it worked.
"Hmm…" Meowscarada put a paw up to her chin, hitting a big of a thinking pose. She was clearly thinking of…something. Suddenly though she gained a slightly sly expression on her face. "Maybe you can teach me."
Lucario was taken back a little and his eyes flew open in shock. "Me? Teach you?" He was surprised. Lucario never had taught anything to anyone, let alone have someone ask him to teach them.
The sly expression on Meowscarada's face grew bigger at Lucario's shocked reaction. "Yeah why not. You seem pretty good at all that aura stuff. Surely you can teach me something. Besides, wouldn't training with someone be more fun than just sitting around mediating by yourself?"
"Well…" Lucario rubbed the back of his head, a habit he copied from Roy. He pondered on Meowscarada's idea. Again Lucario doesn't know if he's even qualified to teach anything, let alone aura, to anyone. That being said, the grass cat does bring up a good point. It would be nice to train with someone and have some company, instead of just being by himself…and Meowscarada is pretty good company all things considered. After thinking about it, Lucario turned his gaze towards Meowscarada and stared up at her a little, straight in the eyes. "Perhaps when I have the time, I will teach you some things about aura."
Meowscarada's smile turned from sly to genuine in a blink of an eye. "Sweet. I'm looking forward to it."
Silence fell between the two again, however this time it was much more comfortable. Visible smiles were seen on both of their muzzles. Lucario turned to face the lake again, deciding to take in its beauty once more. Meowscarada meanwhile, was taking in the physical beauty of Lucario. She could stare at his lean but fit form all day. She didn't even care if it was creepy. Her cat-like eyes roamed all over his body from his arms to his dreadlocks. Eventually, her eyes stopped at the aura dog's ears. What Crocalor told her about Lucario's ears, and how he liked being scratched there suddenly came back to Meowscarada.
She wondered…
Meowscarada retracted a single claw and slowly inched it closer to the back of Lucario's ear.
And then started to softly scratch him.
"GAH!" Lucario jumped and looked at Meowscarada with a bewildered expression. "W-what are you d-doing??" He uncharacteristically stammered out.
"Er sorry. I heard you liked being scratched there. Was…was that bad?" Meowscarada sheepishly muttered. Her expression also turned shy and timid realizing that she might have just done something stupid.
"Uh it-its fine…it's ok." Lucario tried to reassure Meowscarada, he was more surprised than offended. "It wasn't bad at all…actually I…" He paused, contemplating if he should say what he was thinking. It was pretty embarrassing and usually the yellow aura dog didn't get embarrassed…until now. "I…enjoyed it a little."
Lie.
He enjoyed it a LOT.
A sigh of relief left Meowscarada as her face regained a slight sly but still warm and genuine expression. He liked being scratched there huh? In that case…Meowscarada scooted closer to Lucario, their shoulders touching just a bit. She retracted a claw and began scratching him in the ear again. Lucario tensed up for a moment before leaning into it. Usually Lucario would only enjoy getting scratched like this by Roy, as that was his trainer and all. But Meowscarada's sharp claw felt just as great if not even better as it really got into the places where Lucario liked being scratched at. His tail started to wag just a tiny bit, and oh Arceus did it melt Meowscarada's heart. It was soooooooo cute and adorable!!!
"How did you find out about this?" Lucario softly asked, still enjoying the sensation of being scratched.
"Crocalor told me." Meowscarada said, as she continued to scratch the aura dog's ear. "He also told me you like coping your trainer's movements and habits."
"Did he now?" Lucario made a mental note to go and visit Crocalor after dinner. Just to teach him a lesson in telling others his secrets. But…it was true. He did like copying all the things Roy did as he found his trainer to be the coolest person ever, and who doesn't want to copy the coolest person in the world?
"Ehh I wouldn't get embarrassed by it. It's just how you show affection to your trainer." Meowscarada reassured Lucario, she didn't want him to get embarrassed by some that was ultimately pretty normal. "I get jealous when my trainer shows attention to literally anyone but me. Then I try to cling on to her like a Joltik. Each Pokemon has their own unique way of being affectionate to their trainer." She then added on.
Lucario chuckled slightly, a rare thing for him to do. "I suppose you are right." The aura dog took one last glance at the glistening lake before turning to fully face Meowscarada. "I uh…I really enjoyed this chat with you, Meowscarada. I don't really do this with…any Pokemon really." He spoke with a soft and slightly vulnerable tone. The reason why Lucario always trained while the others either relaxed or played around wasn't because he felt left out or anything. No. It was just because he just didn't really see the point of relaxing when you can just continue on honing your skills. Crocalor and Kilowattrel complained that he was 'too' serious and that he 'needed' to chill, but he always ignored their advice. But now he finally understood why they told him that. For the first time Lucario actually enjoyed talking and chilling with someone. He enjoyed…being with Meowscarada.
The soft tone of his voice made Meowscarada's heart swell with LOTS of feelings, most of them were mushy. Lucario got to open up with someone and had fun relaxing because of her. Oh Arceus. Good thing Hattrem wasn't here, or else she would have cried at just how sweet it all was. "No problem. It's important to interact and be with others, especially since it's all that we have right now." Ugh! She sounded so cheesy and lame right now, but it was the overall truth.
Lucario nodded his head in agreement. "You are correct. Having friends and forming close bonds is what gives us strength." How come it sounded so much cooler when he said it!?
"Y'know if you ever want to talk, train, or hangout just holler at me." Meowscarada gently said. She wanted Lucario to know that he was always welcomed to hangout with her, and that he didn't have to always be by himself. Suddenly, an impish grin shaped onto Meowscarada's face, as her voice took a flirtatious tone. "I'm more than willing to do whatever you want~" She then winked at him.
Lucario registered the flirtatious way Meowscarada spoke and the wink she threw at him. The aura dog also noticed the…implications at what the grass cat said. An ever slight tiny faint blush formed at his muzzle. Lucario didn't know he was even capable of that! "Well…I might just take you up on that offer." He responded, the faint blush still on his muzzle
"Good." Meowscarada simply replied.
"EVERYONE DINNER'S READY!!!" Liko shouted.
Both Meowscarada and Lucario stood up, stretching their limbs as they had been sitting for quite a while. "Let's go 'Yellow Flash.' I'm starving." Meowscarada took Lucario's paw in hers and began taking him towards where everyone was eating dinner. Lucario was a little taken back at the paw holding, the aura dog wasn't used to physical contact like this but…he didn't mind it.
Not one bit.
The two Pokemon made it to the dinner area and sat down right next to each other. They were very close, close enough that Hattrem had noticed. The hat looking Pokemon giggled into her tiny little mind for hands. She could always tell what emotions others were feeling, and at this moment there was a strong passionate and affectionate emotion coming from a certain masked grass cat and a yellow aura dog.
"What's so funny Hattrem?" Pagogo, who had just strolled up beside Hattrem, asked. The crystal turtle was curious as to why Hattrem was giggling.
"Well Pagogo." Hattrem paused, giggling once more. "It appears that love is in the air tonight."
Oh she was SO going to tease Meowscarada about this later.
Epilogue
"He's been acting weird lately."
Liko turned to the right of her, towards Roy. "What do you mean? Isn't that how Lucario always trains?" She asked him. Currently the two trainers were up on the deck of the newly required Brave Olivine. They were watching some of the Pokemon train on the ship's battlefield. Which included a certain yellow aura dog.
"Yeah, but he's doing it in an odd way. It's almost like…he's trying to show off?" Roy observed. The boy was confused as to why his Pokemon was acting the way that it was. Usually the yellow Lucario wouldn't be so flashy.
Liko turned her gaze back at the battlefield, this time focusing just on Lucario. She noticed however once in a while the aura Pokemon would turn his head around and glance at the observation deck. As if he was checking he had grabbed the attention of…something. In one instance, Lucario gracefully parried an attack from Quaxwell, and then countered with an equal amount of elegance. Then, the biggest surprise, Lucario glanced back at the deck and…winked??? Roy was right, he was acting VERY weird.
Liko turned her head to the left of her, towards where Lucario was glancing and apparently winking at. It was her own Meowscarada. The grass cat was leaning on the railing of the deck, paws up to her chin, and appeared to have, what Liko assumed, was a dreamy expression on her face. Liko was greatly perplexed at first before…
It clicked for her.
And Liko began to grin.
She knew what Meowscarada's facial expression meant. She understood why Lucario was showing off the way that he was. Liko and Roy did the same song and dance before they became an official couple, and now it seems that their Pokemon were doing the exact same thing that they had done. Liko let out a small giggle.
like-Trainer, Like-Pokemon.
After the training was over, Meowscarada walked up to Lucario, who was panting just slightly. "You looked pretty good out there." She complimented.
"Of course I did. It's me after all." Lucario proudly said, puffing his chest in pride and slight arrogance. Huh. Looks like Meowscarada had rubbed off on him a bit.
Meowscarada rolled her eyes in full amusement at Lucario's bravado. Arceus, how could someone be so cute, yet cool at the same time. "C'mon 'Yellow Dork.' Let's go do some more training…preferably somewhere private." The grass cat said, taking the aura dog's paws in hers.
"Alright. Lead the way, Meowsy." Lucario said, as he willingly followed Meowscarada.
Off to the side, stood both Crocalor and Quaxwell. They watched as Meowscarada dragged Lucario inside the ship to do…Arceus knows what. Truthfully, neither wanted to know what they were planning on doing.
"Huh. Never knew they had a thing for each other." Crocalor commented.
"Really??" Quaxwell incredulously said, as he turned to look at the fire croc.
"Nah!" Crocalor smirked. "It was soooo obvious.”
