another morning for the two of them.
what woke yizhuo up was a feeling of wetness occupying some spots on the right side of her face, and without opening her eyes, an expression of disgust took over her face and she wiped the spots off with the back of her hand.
she was in trouble when she opened her eyes and saw the brunette with short, straight, dark hair ending only a bit above her shoulders. the eyebrows behind her mess of bangs frowned.
yizhuo groaned, realizing the unintentional mistake she caused and her heart sizzled from the inside. "no, no. kiss me all you want. come here," she tried to compensate. while minjeong was attempting to turn away with a long, sad whine behind her lips, yizhuo hugged her from behind, catching the woman and hugging her close so she could be at least a little forgiven, for minjeong's heart to be at least a little less broken.
"i'm sorry. i thought it was something else."
minjeong spoke of absolute nothing, leaving the air dull though turned only her head back with pleading eyes, arching her eyebrows, exactly giving her what is called "sad puppy eyes".
it was correct. minjeong was a sad puppy. and it was because of ning yizhuo.
"baby." yizhuo pouted while watching minjeong's offended face of porcelaine. "i said i'm sorry." despite this, the broken puppy pouted back at her visibly and put her head back on the pillow, not facing yizhuo anymore. "can i give you a treat? would you forgive me then?" she kept trying too make up, as it felt exactly like losing minjeong which made her heart fall into a void so deep it contained no end point.
minjeong shook her head lightly and yizhuo sighed softly into their air. she hugged minjeong even closer, burying herself on her shoulder, dying to be forgiven and for minjeong's heart to be a bit mended. "i like your kisses, okay? i genuinely thought it was something else."
she was honest. she wouldn't have had it another way. it was minjeong, her puppy, and it was the puppy's way of saying "good morning, i love you."
"really?" minjeong said between a whisper and a murmur, but still facing away from yizhuo. she sounded like she wanted to believe, no, she wanted yizhuo to make her believe.
"i promise."
her puppy turned around in yizhuo's arms lazily, then pinned her nose to yizhuo's right cheek, giving the smallest lick she could there. "does that mean we're okay now?" yizhuo asked with a light, low chuckle.
instead of a proper, humane response, minjeong held onto her shoulder and gave her an only slightly bigger lick. "i got my answer," yizhuo giggled, a little ticklish but unbearably happy that minjeong was better, it was the only thing that mattered to her. minjeong, and her happiness. only they mattered in the world of ning yizhuo.
"does puppy want breakfast now, or later?"
"later," minjeong answered and hid herself on yizhuo's neck, found it as a shelter for herself, he safe space, her home as her right leg surrounded the side of yizhuo's hip, aching to be closer than they ever could be.
"however you wish." yizhuo's hand dipped into the puppy's strands, scratching the back of her head as the older one melted into the boiling warm cuddle.
it was their usual. if she was napping, minjeong would sleep in the huge dog bed inside their room; but if she wasn't, she'd cuddle yizhuo to sleep on her chest. then, she'd wake the woman up with tiny kisses from her tongue, wishing she wouldn't disturb the other too much. she was constantly worried of causing a trouble meanwhile it was so perfect it couldn't have gotten better for yizhuo.
realizing minjeong had drifted into sleep once again, yizhuo pinned her nose and lips to the puppy's fresh smelling hair and inhaled her while putting a small kiss there.
"good night again, puppy."
