Chapter Text
It the beginning of their second year.
Sirius met James just as he climbed in the train, Peter was there too, now they only had to find their fourth marauder.
They walked around the train until they found a compartment with a chocolate haired boy, on his shoulder was fast asleep a girl with similar hair.
"Moony's got a girlfriend!?" Sirius exclaimed before he could hold himself back.
James and Peter were still catching up and as they did, Remus had started to stir, the girl against him didn't seem to share the notion as she mumbled something incorrigible and buried more into his side.
Seeing his friends, ofcourse Remus was happy, but their shocked faces were confusing to him. He quirked a brow.
Sirius who was still gaping, wide eyed, potentially hurt pointed at the girl, James had his fist shoved down his mouth to keep from screeching and Peter was opening and closing his mouth like a goldfish.
"What the fuck?" Remus demanded, genuinely not catching up.
"Mate, you... that's a girl—" James started before he was cut off by Sirius.
"How do you have a girlfriend!?"
That, seemed to clear things up to Remus who laughed, eyes crinkling in a very moony way as he spoke, "she's my sister you twat."
"Woah, that...you didn't tell us that." It was Peter who had finally found his voice and was currently making more sense the other two as he sat down on the other side. The action shook some sense into the other two as well as they too seated themselves.
"I might've forgotten to mention it last year," Remus reasoned sheepishly.
"She'd be in the same year as Reggie, huh?" Sirius pointed out as he watched the girl still fast asleep against her brother's side.
"Oh yeah, where is he anyways?" James quirked up slightly as the topic of Regulus was brought up, he'd always been curious about the boy he's heard so much about from Sirius.
"Little piece of shit is sitting with the slytherins," Sirius explained, his tone carrying a hint of bitterness.
"Don't be hard on him," Remus sighed.
Peter who had been listening until then started opening a box of chocolate frog.
At once any tension died down as they pounced on the chocolates.
"Hey Moony?" James said as he bit off an arm off of the frog.
The other hummed in response.
"What's her name?" James asked tipping his head in the girl's direction.
"Raven." Remus responded.
"Hmm? What?" The girl grumbled instead, voice laced with sleep.
Remus quickly smoothed away his grin as he shushed her back to sleep.
The other boys had their heart on their hands at the sweet display from the boy who usually wouldn't move to save his own life.
Iris brought out the best in him, anyone with functioning eyes could see that. The boy was a martyr, he believed nothing good was ever meant for him, but oh, the things he'd do for his little sister.
For the next hour, she was sleeping like a baby while they spoke in hushed whispers—Remus had threatened to kick them out if they woke her up.
Sirius was still curious about what she looked like, though he had accepted she'd be a smaller, feminine version of Remus. What he didn't calculate was when she finally stirred awake.
Raven had made the softest sound when she yawned, a hand blindly grabbing her brother's sweater while the other rubber her eyes—unlike Remus' honey eyes, hers were a almost green.
"Hey there," Remus said gently as she straightened up, the others watched with battered breathe, unsure whether to interrupt.
"How long was I out?"
"About an hour," Remus provided, gaze following her movements as she grabbed the bottle of water she had discarded earlier.
"You guys must be his friends, I'm Raven," she introduced once she was aware of the world around her.
Remus' protectiveness turned out justified when she flashed an adorably crooked grin, braces and all.
"Sirius Black," Sirius responded first, reaching over to ruffle her hair.
"James Potter," James gave her a warm smile.
"Peter Pettigrew," Peter smiled too, pulling out a chocolate frog from almost nowhere.
"Woah, where did you get that from?" She chuckled accepting the chocolate.
Peter shrugged mysteriously making everyone laugh.
"Soo, little moon, what house do you reckon you'll be in?" James perked up.
Eyebrows were raised at the nickname, but it was fitting, she was a copy of Remus minus the eyes and scars.
"I'm hoping for Gryffindor, but Ravenclaw sounds nice too," she pondered.
"It'd be a blast if both the Lupins were in the same house," Remus grinned at her.
It was a rare sight for his friends to see him be so open. Solely for that reason they wanted to have Iris around more.
"You mean a disaster," Raven teased back.
"Whatever it may be, it'll be fun to hang out together!" James cheered.
"I'm hoping Reggie gets into Gryffindor too, it'd be so much fun." Sirius also added, his eyes bright as his name.
"Who's Reggie?" Iris questioned.
"My little brother, he's also starting this year." Sirius provided.
"Oh, we could all be friends, it'd be fun!" Raven joined in the idea immediately.
The rest of their journey was simply wonderful, they found out Remus was much more playful than they'd gotten to know in their first year now that his sister was there.
And they absolutely loved Raven as a little sister, Peter specially took upon himself to spoil and share chocolates and candies with her—a move met by a grumbling and pouting Moony.
