Parts of the heart, blood, and immune system:
The four chambers:
- Right atrium - Yosano (bc women are always right): getting the injured (deoxygenated blood)
- Right ventricle - is sending them to the clinic (lungs) to heal them with her ability
- Left atrium: -They get healed and exit the clinic (back to the heart)
- Left ventricle: - And now they are free to go wherever (rest of the body)
Tips for remembering: the atrium is like a courtyard and the ventricles are like the hallways to get there. Atriums are up bc ventricles need to be close to the lungs. Atriums receive and ventricles pump.
Valves: are like the doors of the agency but with kenji guarding them so they can only be opened one way to prevent too many patients from crowding the agency at once. Leaflets open when pressure is too high in one area:
- Tricupsid (like three paper cups u get outside of the nurses office) and mitral are located where the atriums meet the ventricles so that they can allow blood to enter the ventricles and close to prevent blood from leaking back into the atriums (wouldn’t want any patients running away from yosano’s dismembering hatchet!)
- The aortic and pulmonary valves are at the exits of the ventricles. They are between the ventricles and pulmonary artery and ventricle and rest of the body and prevent blood from flowing back into the ventricles.
Pulmonary trunk: Carries stuff from right ventricle to lungs
Aorta: Left ventricle to the rest of the body
Basically Poe and Lucy carrying the agency despite the fact that they ain't a part of it.
Superior vena cava returns deoxygenated blood from the upper body while inferior vena cava returns blood from the lower. Basically patients attacked by the port mafia vs patients attacked by the DOA (doa is the lower one cuz majority of their members are 6 feet deep)
Blood cells (shin soukoku working together on that boat when they combine abilities and the coat goes to atsushi):
Red - akutagawa, like him it takes a more defensive role and just transports oxygen through the body using hemoglobin (rashoumon)
White - atsushi, offensive, attacks viruses and shit idk man, includes neutrophils which are the first defence (similar to monocytes but better!), eosinophils, and basophils help fight (like byakko’s claws and furry shit). These are all granulocytes that release granules ig.There are also agranulocytes: lymphocytes (T and B cells) which destroy infected cells and produce antibodies and monocytes which act as phagocytes to consume the bacteria and shit (like how byakko is man-eating tiger).
Phagocytosis: Like i said, byakko being a man-eating tiger, except the man is the pathogens. She detects it with her tiger senses aka receptors, surrounds it with a plasma membrane, traps that bastard in a “vesicle” called a phagosome and then lysosomes produce enzymes to break it down and so she can “eat” it. She absorbs the useful stuff and expels the rest.
B cells: THINK Q’S ABILITY BUT ONLY FOR MARKING VICTIMS
- Detect a specific pathogen (someone brushing against Q)
- Produce antibodies (proteins) or like that fuckass doll (Q gets injured)
- Antibodies bind to pathogen (oops now Q’s ability is triggered)
- Pathogen gets destroyed (or marked for destruction) (welp they’re fucked)
T cells: LIKE THAT BLOND GUY’S ABILITY FROM THE AZURE KING INCIDENT AND ACTUALLY FINISHES THE JOB (T for tyrone cuz idk his name)
- Recognize infected cells (guy uses his ability)
- Bind to them (he numbers them)
- Release toxins → kill the cell (now they dead)
