Chapter 1: Power.

Chapter Text

007n7 was not liked. That was something that would always be a fact, nothing would change from that. And sometimes, 007n7 liked that, he liked that there wouldn’t be a change. No one would notice the cuts on his arms—or even care about them, anyway—and they sure as hell wouldn’t care about his mental health either, and he really liked it like that. If no one cared, he could just get worse and worse as time went on.

But there was that part in him that held hatred for all of them. Maybe not Guest 1337, but no one could really hate that guy. He felt hatred because of what they were doing to him, and he knew it was wrong, he deserved it, for Admin’s sake! But he just wanted to be treated normally, hasn’t he shown that he’s changed enough already?.. So why are they still TREATING HIM LIKE THIS?! It… made sense, but at the same time it didn’t. It never did. Nothing in this place made sense.

That’s why when the Spectre decided to offer him something, he was admittedly a bit skeptical. This was the thing that tormented them! Changed his son from the beautiful baby boy he knew to a monster.

It’s either this, or that eternal damnation I know you hate..” The Spectre cooed, reaching its hand out and curling it towards itself. “You know how mistreated you are, don’t you want to get revenge on them? Look at how they treat you, how they look at you. They hate you. They wouldn’t even bat an eye if you were gone, now would they? Wouldn’t you rather make your mark on people again? Didn’t you like the pain you caused them?

007n7 fidgeted with his hands, looking down at the… ground? The place he was in right now had no real ground, it was just swirling spirals of deep red and black.

“I - I didn’t—”

Don’t lie to me, 007n7. I know you enjoyed it. And deep down, you still do. So I’m giving you this offer.

Become a killer, or rot in this eternal hell forever. Go on, keep being treated like waste. Keep being treated like you are nothing more than a speck to them.

007n7 had to admit, he missed being feared. The power he held over people made him feel like he was worth something for once. He had never been treated right in his childhood, hacking was the only way he coped. And hacking now? Sure, he does it during rounds, but not enough to be considered useful. Not to himself or the other.

The Spectre held out its hand.

So… do you accept?

“...”

Yes. I do.

Good choice.

In an instant, 007n7 felt pain coursing throughout his body, he yelled but it sounded like nothing came out. Maybe the sound of his brain screaming in pain drowned out his own voice. Maybe that was for the best, he didn’t have a good voice. But his limbs felt like they were being ripped apart and mangled, then put back together as something new, something better, something c00ler.

But also, in an instant, the pain stopped.

He looked at his hands, how were they? Well, they now had black and red gloves, resembling the c00lGUI. They were also spiky, spider-like. Which made him look towards his sides, and as he looked he saw three protruding spider-like legs sticking out from his sides, which rested on the floor, making 007n7 hover above the ground.

“This is…”

Cool?

“No… c00l.” His voice glitched, and a grin appeared on his face as he realized what he could do now. A small chuckle escaped from his lips, “Finally!” His chuckles turned into full-blown laughter, maniacal in its nature. “What can I do?”

The Spectre snapped its fingers, summoning a small vase of flowers,

Try it.

007n7 didn’t need to be told twice, he pulled up his GUI — just like old days — and typed in a command that set the vase of flowers ablaze, and 007n7 felt powerful. He felt something that he hadn’t felt in a while. In years, in a decade. Ever since he started raising c00lkidd, he left behind all of his hacking, becoming a “better person”, but what good was becoming a better person if people didn’t appreciate it? What good was being a better person if people still hated him? There was no point in it.

“...what else can I do?”

Well, if you must know, you can grab someone and plunge one of those things into them,” it pointed at the spider-like legs, “you can set them ablaze, but it will take a while for you to type the command in. And it won’t last long.”

And lastly, you can have power over them.
