Finding A World That Did Not Exist

Summary:

Years after he lost Derek, Avery thought he was fine, he settled down he had a wife and daughter (I STILL SHIP SLIMEKNIGHT, THEY ARE FOR SAKE OF PLOT! AVERY IS BI [headcanon] I PROMISE YOU'LL GET YOUR SLIMEKNIGHT ANGST AND FLUFF I SWEAR) and everything was ok. That was till his daughter found something on his old computer. Something he thought was deleted. Destroyed even. When she logged on after she was told not to, she would soon be in a situation she would regret being in. Was there a way of getting out of this? Did she even know what she was in? Maybe she would be fine. It was just a game after all right?

*Years after part 2*

 

It had been 20 years after what happened. Avery was older now. He settled down, had a wife and daughter and everything was pretty normal. Yes he thought about Derek almost everyday. Could there have been something Avery could have done, anything to save him? Maybe if he didn't get involved. Maybe if he disconnected when he was supposed to... if he listened.. if he didn't turn left.. what would have happened? No. He couldn't think that now. He needed to focus on the present. Not the past. Like Derek said. "Keep moving forward."

Avery was in his living room watching TV while his wife was at work and his daughter was upstairs. She came down stairs holding a laptop. "Hey dad?" Avery looked up at his daughter Amelia. "What's up kiddo?"  Amelia showed him the computer. "Could I have your old computer? I need a new one since my old one broke?" Avery nodded. "Yea sure let me see it so I can set it up." Amelia nodded and handed him the computer plopping down beside him on the couch. Avery opened the computer and started setting it up. Updates, installing some apps, putting her accounts on there, the whole 9 yards. He was finishing everything up when he noticed an app he hadn't seen previously. Minecraft. It didn't seem out of the ordinary for him as he knew he had it on there. He opened it to put Amelia's account on there when he saw something on the 'load world' screen, 'this world'. for those who need a recap; Avery had stumbled upon this computer in a storage locker. Opening it to find Minecraft, he found a world titled 'this world'. Clicking on that world changed his life. Remember now? Yea figured. The moment Avery saw that world he slammed the computer. "Uhm.. Know what? I'll buy you a new computer just go put this in the attic ok Amelia?" He said trying to keep his voice steady. Amelia got confused. "I thought you said-" Avery cut her off sharply. "I said. Put it away." Amelia huffed and took the computer upstairs. After making sure she was upstairs Avery started pacing back and forth his thoughts a blur. How was that there? The world was destroyed. Derek made sure of it. He DIED making sure this world wouldn't exist. This didn't make sense. He shook his head. It's fine. Everything is fine. As long as the computer is untouched, nothing will happen. Everything is fine. He is safe there. He is safe. Nothing will happen.
