Chapter Text
For the Dursley family at 4 Privet Drive, today was a very special day.
Before dawn, Harry was dragged out of her warm bed by her aunt.
"Happy birthday, darling."
Harry had stayed up half the night reading novels and was still half-asleep. She rubbed her eyes groggily.
"Birthday... Oh right, today's July thirty-first..."
"Come on, wake up, we've got a lot to do today."
Petunia was in a very good mood. She kissed her niece's cheeks twice and pulled out a brand new light green dress.
"Remember to put this on. Our little princess can't go out in old clothes, can she?"
"I'll go make breakfast. Don't go back to sleep, okay?"
With that, Petunia turned and walked out with a smile.
"Okay~"
Harry watched her aunt leave, yawned lazily, and then slowly got up to prepare for her eleventh birthday.
When she finally dragged herself downstairs, Vernon and Dudley were sitting at the table eating breakfast.
Dudley had an enormous appetite today. He wolfed down bacon and eggs while mumbling: "Harry, we're going to the London Zoo today!"
"The zoo?"
At that, Harry finally perked up. She quickly pulled out a chair and sat down.
"Really? We're going to the zoo?"
"Yes, the zoo." Vernon finished his last sip of coffee, put down his cup, and added: "Dudley has been begging to go for the past month, but Petunia and I thought we'd wait until your birthday... It's going to be a wonderful day."
He glanced at his watch. "Alright, you two, hurry up and eat. We're leaving as soon as you're done."
"Okay, Uncle Vernon/Dad."
Harry finished her breakfast quickly, and then Petunia brought over a beautiful strawberry cake with candles all over it.
"Let's have cake first, then we'll go out. Kids, make a wish."
She smiled at Harry. "You go first, Harry."
"Okay."
Harry closed her eyes, clasped her hands together in front of her chest, and began to wish.
"I hope I can make some new friends this year."
"Oh~ Harry, are you saying you don't like being with me anymore?" Dudley protested immediately, thinking his cousin was tired of him.
"Of course not! You're the best brother in the whole world, Dudley!" Harry quickly placated her pretend-upset cousin.
"And you're the best sister in the whole world, Harry!" Dudley cheered up again and leaned over the cake.
"My turn to wish. Let's see... I want a new computer game, I want to go to the amusement park... lots and lots of sweets, and new toys! Remote control planes, trains..."
Harry stared at him in amazement at this long list of wishes. "Cousin, you're so greedy."
Would all these wishes really come true?
"Kids always have lots of wishes." Petunia said dismissively. "Alright, blow out the candles now, or we'll be late."
"Okay!"
The brother and sister blew out the candles together. After eating the cake, the whole family drove to the London Zoo in Vernon's new car.
Harry sat in the passenger seat, finished solving her dodecahedron Rubik's cube, and then stared boredly at the scenery flying past the window, her thoughts wandering.
Come to think of it, she had been in this world for exactly eleven years!
Yes, Harry was a transmigrator.
