Chapter 1: Working

Chapter Text

Azul hurries around. For some reason, Jade and Floyd are nowhere to be seen, and none of the other dorm members know what they're supposed to do now that the twins are gone.

Just fantastic. The Mostro Lounge is packed, and Azul is he only one who truly knows what he's doing.

"C'mon," Azul snaps at another poor dorm member, one with short black hair and brown eyes, "You're not so incompetent that you can't give people their drinks, are you?"

"N-No sir, sorry sir," The smaller boy runs off, handing the drinks to the incorrect table before getting nudged by someone to lead him to the proper table.

Azul sighs, frustrated as he walks to the kitchen to take over the cooking. The food won't be as good as Jade or Floyd's, but right now Azul needs to have the feeling of control, and damn right he can get full control of the kitchen.

So that's how the night goes. Azul stuck in the kitchen as he barks orders at everybody, every now and then leaving the kitchen when the recipe calls for a longer cook time to check on the waiters. Even that leads to him getting more stressed, since he then forgets the meal he was making and has to rush back to make sure it isn't burnt (and if it is, he makes sure it isn't too burnt).

By the time Jade and Floyd make it back, the Mostro Lounge is empty. They look around.

"Maaan, Yuu sure knows how to keep us busy for hours," Floyd whines, rubbing the back of his neck.

Jade shrugs with a slight smile, "Hey, you weren't complaining when it came to helping Heartslabyul with their house warden." Jade walks towards Azul's office.

Floyd grins, following Jade, "I can't help it, Lil' Goldfish is so fun to mess with."

"Yeah, well--" Jade pauses, stopping his movements entirely and causing Floyd to bump into him slightly.

"Why'd'ya stop?" Floyd looks at the booth Jade is staring at. Azul is sitting in the booth, though he's not glaring at the twins. He's actually asleep, and the boy watching over him perks up at the sight of the Leeches.

"Is he alright?" Jade walks over with a bit of an acceleration, kneeling beside Azul and checking his pulse.

"Yes, I think," the boy nods, his sea green eyes trying to hide his fear, "Just stressed."

Jade nods and pulls his hand away from Azul. "You're dismissed," he tells the boy, who nods and hurries away. "Hm..." Jade hums.

"You don't make that face unless something's out of place," Floyd points out.

"His pulse is faster than normal," Jade responds, standing, "I think he's been working himself too hard."

"That sucks," Floyd frowns, "Let's get him to his room."

Jade nods as Floyd gently picks Azul up in a princess carry and starts carrying him to his room. "What do you think happened tonight?" Floyd asks.

Jade shrugs, "No telling, but my guess is nobody did their job right, considering the lounge wasn't all that clean."

Floyd nods and sighs, "No fun tonight, this suuucks."

"You already got to torment Heartslabyul," Jade chuckles, "Was that not fun enough?"

Floyd huffs, "No, I wanted to be able to have fun at Mostro Lounge. I wasn't expecting Yuu to keep us occupied for so long."

"Yeah, me neither," Jade opens the door to Azul's room, and Floyd enters, setting Azul down in his bed.

"Can't say I've seen him look so tired," Floyd points out, pointing under Azul's eyes and at the bags. Jade nods and carefully takes Azul's coat off from around his shoulders and hangs it up in the wardrobe, as well as setting his fedora on top of his coat. Only then does Jade take Azul's glasses off and set them on the vanity.

"Come, Floyd," Jade beckons for Floyd to follow. "We'll bother him in the morning."

And so, the twins leave Azul to rest.
