Work Text:
Yoongi came home late at night after spending the day producing with Namjoon and was tired. But could he rest? No. Why not? Cause of the stupid college and it's stupid assignments. Arguably, he should have first completed the assignments and then gone to Namjoon's for producing but really, how could he when the mixtape was so close to finishing.
Yoongi quickly walked into the kitchen to grab something for dinner although he was far from hungry. However, he wasn't going to skip dinner because he had made a vow to himself that if his brother had to go through the mental torture of forcing three meals a day down his throat then Yoongi would try to do that entire 'be a good role model crap' and eat as well. The last thing he wanted was for Jimin to go, 'if Hyung doesn't eat, why do I have to?'
He snatched out a pizza and gulped it down, happily noticing that two slice were missing and that neither of their parents were fond pizza. Guiltily, he couldn't help but glance in the bin but his happiness doubled when he saw nothing but wrappers. Jimin really was getting better and he couldn't ask for anything more.
Yoongi made his way towards his room, mentally preparing himself for a long night of useless studying. Jimin's room was in his way and he figured it wouldn't hurt to check on the kid and say hi, most likely he brother was asleep anyway. He knocked softly on the door and peeked in. Yoongi's heart dropped down to his stomach in agony.
Jimin was curled into himself, completely covered from head to toe under two thick covers but underneath the blankets Yoongi could see the shape of the boy who was shaking violently, small sobs choking their way out of his throat. Yoongi grew scared as reasons for this behavior ran through his head. Did Jimin feel guilty for eating? Had he relapsed and vomited? Did someone hurt him?
The boy hadn't heard Yoongi enter and jumped in shock when the covers were pulled away in a rush. "Hy-Hyung." His voice was raspy and rough as he stared at the elder standing above him with wide eyes.
"What's wrong?" Yoongi asked as he sat on the side of the bed, his hand resting on the child's still too thin arm. "Did something happen?" Anger creeped up slowly in Yoongi, someone better not have said anything to Jimin.
"I'm... I'm cold." He admitted and shook his head, the hint of a whine in his voice. "I'm so cold, Hyung, I want it to stop. I hate this, I hate feeling cold all the time. I want to be warm again, Yoongi Hyung, I want to be warm."
At that moment Yoongi noticed how Jimin's skin was in fact cold to the touch under his hand and how the boy was still violently shaking although his sobs had subsided. His heart clenched as he felt despair for the boy. Progress was happening but Jimin was still so thin that heat wasn't generated very well through his body due to the lack of fat. The blankets were useless if his body didn't create heat to be retained by the covers.
Screw college. Jimin was more important.
"Scoot over." Yoongi slid in and pulled the blankets up covering the two of them.
"Hyung?" He asked, confused. "You're staying?"
"Yeah, I'm spending the night with you. You wanna be warm? You get to be warm." Yoongi lifted the blankets to their chins and wrapped his arms around the smaller boy, tucking his head under Yoongi's and laying one leg over both of Jimin's. "Just give it a minute, Jiminie."
"Thank you," Jimin breathed, amazed and overwhelmed by this gesture. He wrapped his own arms around his brother and snuggled his face into the broader chest. "Yoongi Hyung, thank you so much."
"Yah, shut up you brat, you've worked so hard these past few weeks you deserve this." Yoongi said, uncaring that he sounded way to mushy. It was Jimin, the boy deserved all the mushiness in the world... As long as no one else heard... Hell, who cared if anyone else heard, if Jimin needed it then he got it.
Slowly, Yoongi's body heat radiated off of him and onto Jimin, the covers retaining the heat and surrounding them with it. Jimin sighed in relief and his body began to stop shaking violently and calmed itself down, allowing his aching muscles to rest. The hair on his body laid themselves flat and Jimin sunk in deeper into his brother's arm. Yoongi noticed this and petted the younger's hair. A light flush was growing on Yoongi due to him overheating but he ignored it in favour of focusing of the boy who was so deprived of a simple thing such as warmth.
"Jiminie?"
"Hm?" He was slowly falling asleep due to the comfort of heat.
"When you get this cold, you know my room is literally a few steps away right? I don't mind sparing some heat." He reminded him lightheartedly.
"I don't wanna bother you." Jimin replied sleepily.
"Yah, you know me, I don't offer things I don't mean. You got it, Jiminie? Don't hesitate," he ran a hand through his brother's soft hair. "I'm always here."
"Yes, Hyung." Jimin muttered before sleep dragged him away from the world as his body finally fully relaxed due the comforting and reassuring warmth sliding into his bones.
