Chapter Text
Soft wind shifted through the trees outside as Aizawa sipped his second coffee of the day. This day started out like any other; wake up, shower, eat, go to work.
A sharp buzzing from his pants pulled him out of his thoughts, as he pulled his phone out of his pocket.
Nezu had arranged a meeting for a few teachers regarding the potential presence of new students over the next few days.
Aizawa’s eyes scanned over the file, reading and re-reading all the information in there, before his eyes landed on the names at the bottom. One name in particular.
“Dazai?” Aizawa mumbled under his breath, shaky and slow.
He’s alive?
Memories flashed through Aizawa’s mind, memories of a life he lived not long ago.
Walking up and down stair cases which moved, buzzes of light coming out of weirdly shaped sticks. A life he lived, but not a life he lived.
A small boy, too small- for his age. Sat in the infirmary, as he and Poppy spoke to him, soft voices bouncing off the tiles around. “You need to eat more, sweetheart. You will only get sicker if you keep skipping meals.”
A small, uncovered eye flicked around the room, taking everything in as if it were the first time he had been there.
Of course it wasn’t. Dazai had been in the infirmary for a multitude of reasons, varying from his weird relationship with magic, to his self-destruction habits, even to concerns about his home life.
The last time Snape had seen Dazai, he was practically smothered in bandages, which only got worse each time he would return home.
What would he look like now? Would he even-
Would he even remember me?
The thought bugged Aizawa, more than it should’ve. Why does he care?
Severus Snape was in the past, and it was Aizawa Shota looking at these documents.
If- or when he sees Dazai, he should see a new student, and dazai, should see his new homeroom teacher. Not his old professor.
Aizawa took another sip of his coffee, a migraine setting in already. It was hard enough dealing with him once, dealing with him again felt like a nightmare- and if he was relieved that Dazai was alive, nobody had to know that.
He seriously needs to get some more migraine pills, he was going to need it if Dazai would really be in his class.

Time seemed to slow down at times in the Port Mafia for Chuuya. If he wasn’t on a mission, at the arcade with dazai, or trying to find something- anything to do, he would literally be twiddling his thumbs, waiting for something to do.
It was as if his thoughts could be read by Mori, when he randomly ordered both him and Dazai into his office, assigning them a mission to…
“You will be infiltrating UA, to get a better sense of their security protocols, which will be reported to either Nezu, or myself. You will be posing as ordinary students under hero training while in UA to not raise suspicions.”
..
what the fuck.
“Students, seriously?- And hang on, why are we reporting to Nezu of all people?”
Great question Dazai, horrible execution. Whatever, Mori doesn't seem to mind when Dazai is so blatantly disrespectful to him, whatever reason that may be for.
“I second that, the whole Nezu thing, why are we reporting to Nezu? Isn’t he the principal of UA?”
Mori chuckled to himself, before lifting his head off his hands.
“The principal has a heightened IQ, it would only be a matter of time before he finds out you guys aren't there by pure coincidence. So I managed to pull a few strings, and make a deal.”
Dazai stared, dumbfounded. At least Chuuya had the decency to cover his expression.
“What deal exactly?” Dazai finally wiped that expression off his face, even if it was just to ask a question.
“Im sure you can figure it out.”
I think I now know why Dazai hates the boss so much. Of course he would never say such a thing out loud. But damn, why can’t he be straight forward for once?
Whatever. It doesn’t matter, he has a mission to get to, soon, i think.
“TOMORROW??? Talk about late notice.” Chuuya broke the silence after walking out of Mori’s office, riding down to ground level in the elevator.
“Is poor doggy upset that he didnt get notice… awww… i think i have a few treats somewhere around here for you-”
“IM NOT YOUR FUCKING DOG!! STOP SAYING I AM!!”
“Poor Chibi, you’ll never get a woman if you’re short AND angry. You’re like a chihuahua!”
“SHUT UP SHITHEAD!!”
Chuuya lunged forward, aiming for Dazai’s hair. He dodged, leaning against the ground as Chuuya lifted his foot to stomp on him, Dazai quickly scuttled to the side, narrowly avoiding a foot to the chest.
Dazai huffed, turning his head away and pouting, before Chuuya extended an arm, helping Dazai up
“My doggy is still as loyal as ever!”
“In your dreams, asshole.”
Chuuya turned his head away this time, hiding a smirk with his hair.
Dazai always had some sort of magic that, no matter how “mad” Chuuya got at him, it somehow always just raised his mood. Dazai was weird like that.
Dazai was always weird though.
Whatever. Chuuya needs to pack. No time to think about something as dumb as Dazai.

UA is big. If the way that it swayed at the top despite its.. debatably stable scaffolding said anything, then yeah. It was big. Obviously it is, its one of the most popular schools in the world, of course it needs to be big. Yet, something about standing below it, next to your sworn “enemy”, and not having a port mafia building to scuffle back to in case anything goes wrong was easily off-putting.
Dazai couldn’t help but to poke fun at Chuuya, knowing he felt the same way too.
The wind blew past, grazing Chuuya’s hair as the sun outlined his features softly, lightning his jawline and nose.
Dazai stared for a few seconds as Chuuya, watching as the soft glowing reversed into harsh shadows, which managed to define the same features with even more exaggeration.
Chuuya caught him staring, their eyes locking for a few seconds before Dazai’s eyes flicked away, instead looking towards the scenery in front of the two.
A large living room encompassed around a corner of the spot they were walking through, with a kitchen lined up on the other side. Large windows shined into the room, light reflecting off the furniture, painting abstract shadows across the walls and flooring.
A squeaky voice in front of the two halted them
“This is where you will be staying during your time here at UA. The students are unaware of your true reasoning for being here. Same with your teachers, so just act as any other student here.”
The.. Rat? Spoke, his voice small and pitchy. How is he a principal here, with such an unthreatening presence- and furthermore, how does he supposedly meet Dazai's IQ??
This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
“Your classmates are gone for now, they are in their classes, I'm afraid you might have to take a mini hike to get to your rooms, due to the fact that we wanted to keep it as a little bit of a surprise that you guys would be transitioning into here, and along with the fact that the closer rooms are all preoccupied.” Nezu paused, taking a breath and looking between Dazai and Chuuya, before continuing.
Jesus, does this guy just not need to breathe or something?
“Follow me - ill show you where you will be rooming.”
Mini hike was an exaggeration, all they had to do was go up an elevator and walk down a hallway, it wasn’t even that far away, especially compared to that of a normal hotel. At least now that damn rodent had left Chuuya and Dazai to settle into their rooms.
Dazai had made a big show of choosing between the two rooms, because of course he did. Dumbass barely even said anything through code to Chuuya, just the fact that there weren't any cameras or microphones, through the most obnoxious code ever, by the way, talking about some height difference or something.
"You are going to be collected by your homeroom teacher, Aizawa in the morning, so he can bring you down to meet the students. Please be mindful of any shock they might have, they were not informed that you would be coming."
What a pain, hopefully the gods would take mercy on Chuuya and kill him before the madness of school could burrow into his mind.
Now he was starting to sound like Dazai. Maybe he should just go to sleep for now instead. Deal with whatever torment was waiting for him tomorrow.
