Chapter 1: Who Are You?

Chapter Text

Sasuke stared at the entrance of the cemetery exhaustion and nausea crippling him. Flashes of people dripping with blood, or with swords in them came to mind.He wanted to go in and beg for them to come back. He wanted to stay with them forever. No he can’t think like that. He needs to avenge them. He can’t be sad. He can’t think of them too much he needed to train. So that he could kill Ita that Man. He could return at any tiny deciding that he wouldn’t leave alive his weak little brother. When Sasuke thought of that he didn’t feel complete hatred instead a drop of relief. He wanted to be

NO NO NO he hated him. He needed to kill him to avenge his clan. He needed to

He felt heat beating down on him. How long had he been here? He glanced around his once glassy and unfocused eyes taking the few people with flowers and cleaning supplies. The people clapping his hands with prayers. He wondered if the prayers reached? That’s when he noticed a women making her way through the Uchiha section of the cemetery. Who was she?

Suddenly mustering all his strength he pushed his body that became more exhausted and tired with every step until he got to the area with all the Uchiha graves. He pushed on the gate.

Each step felt heavier like when he would work tell exhaustion to get the fire ball jutsu right. No this was even more. Memories of joyful people with blood spilling down their stomaches, throats, tears. No don’t think of that.

“Is there something I can do for you honey?” Asked someone.

His eyes came into focus and he realized he was by the women and a grave with flowers and had been recently cleaned.

“Who are you?” He flinched when he heard his voice it sounded exhausted and weak. Weak like

“My name is Mio, it is lovely to meet you. When you ask for someone’s name try to introduce yourself and then ask for their name it is quite polite.” She said with a warm smile. It felt like years of her just staring at him. Then she turned back and picked up the bucket and cloth. As well as some more flowers.

“Would you like to help clean some of the graves with me?” She asked.

He didn’t reply he opened his mouth before shutting it. Looking down at his feet as memories of people dying flashed through his head. He felt something grab his hand, it was gentle and warm. He went along with whatever was pulling on his hand his mind flicking through his clan dead dead dead. Why couldn’t they come back? Eventually he looked up when whatever was holding him stopped. He felt a prickle of cold air on his arm. He looked up to see the woman Mio looking down at him with a sad smile.

“Thank you for accompanying me. I was only able to attend to fifteen of the graves. Would you like to come and have some dinner with me or for me to walk you to your home?” She asked.

“Sasuke,” he said his voice quiet. He wasn’t hungry. He was exhausted.

“I see Sasuke it was very nice to meet you. As I said earlier my name is Mio. Please feel free to ask if you need anything. I tend to visit graves on Wednesdays since it is my least busy day but today I took off since I wanted to clean and visit as many graves as possible. To say my thanks for all the Uchiha has done for Konoha. I run a restaurant next to Yua’s clothing store. Do you know where that is?” He mustered a small nod. “Lovely feel free to stop by and have some tea with me. Or help me when I visit graves.” She said with a warm smile.

He nodded and turned to walk away.

Glancing at her once more a brown bucket in her left hand with a rag laying on the edge. Her right hand extended in the air waving with a kind smile on her face. Before turning around and going home. He layed down on his bed. Instantly falling asleep when he hit the pillow only to wake and turn throughout the night thinking of the night where the clouds turned red and bodies hit the ground.
