Chapter Text
You had come to the hotel about four months ago, mostly for reasons surrounding free housing and food rather than redemption, which you didn't really believe in. Even if it was true, you certainly couldn't be redeemed, not with the atrocities you'd committed in life as well as in death.
You were a powerful Demon, but a deal went sour for you, and now your powers were weakened, and you had no place to live. Then you saw that terrible commercial for the Hazbin Hotel. Realizing you had no better options, you decided to stay.
Charlie had a lot more energy than you were used to seeing in Hell. It was almost too much to keep up with, but you grew accustomed to her. She introduced you to the other residents of the hotel, save for Alastor. He, rather extravagantly, introduced himself.
You were sure you had confused him when you showed no fear towards him. He was the Radio Demon. The most feared Demon in Hell. How could you not show the slightest bit of emotion?
You also knew he could sense your power. Though muted, it was still strong enough to be noticed by others, provided they were looking properly.
It had taken a while, but you got to know the infamous Radio Demon quite well. You found that you shared several interests. As well as a great disdain for a certain flat-faced Overlord.
You had gotten to know Alastor's Shadow as well. It became quite clear early on that Alastor's Shadow was a sentient being. You thought it was rather nice, and it seemed to warm up to you as well.
Your friendship with Alastor had grown quite a bit, even to the point where you could barge into each other's rooms, unannounced, without consequence. Your visits included either endless conversations or hours in silence, just existing. There seemed to be no in-between.
Today, you hadn't seen Alastor very much, nor his shadow. You greeted him this morning, but you haven't seen him since.
You had been sitting in the lounge room, watching a movie with the others when you felt something was off. You tried to shake away the feeling, but no to avail.
The feeling only grew, feeling like static prickling against your skin. The others seemed to notice it too, but payed it no mind. It wasn't until the lights started flickering and the shadows grew larger and darker that you finally got up to see what was wrong.
You heard yelling from down the hall the second you left the room. You followed the sounds, only to find Alastor and Lucifer having a very heated argument. The static permeating the air made it impossible to hear a word either of them said.
Finally, Lucifer stormed off to his room, and Alastor to his, taking most of the static and shadows with him. You heard a door slam and decided to give him a minute before going to talk to him.
You went to your own room for a bit, gathering a few things to entertain yourself if he decided not to talk. You stopped into the kitchen before you went to him, grabbing some of his favorite snacks. You heard a trill-like noise from behind you as you reached to grab something for yourself, turning to find Alastor's shadow behind you.
"Hey, buddy," you greeted gently. He looked so downcast, ears back, eyes droopy, and smile strained. "Come here, love," you opened your arms and let him settle against your shoulder. You pulled away after a few moments to look at him.
He looked slightly better. His ears had come up a bit, and he looked at you with doe-eyes. You almost laughed at that horrible pun.
You put a hand on his cheek and he leaned into it. Alastor was almost never one for physical touch, but his shadow on the other hand was an entirely different story.
"Do you think he's ready for some company?" You asked the Shadow. He nodded. "Alright then. Care to help me carry some things?" He grabbed the food while you grabbed the other things you'd brought, carrying them up to Alastor's room.
