Ada took a day off on the fourth of July. Even a spy like her should deserve a day of break. In this great nation that encourages free will, she took the liberty to conduct a secret observation on Leon S. Kennedy, the secret agent in-training.
She has been doing this a few times now, after learning that he joined the agency. She wasn’t quite sure about his reason. To her knowledge, Leon wasn’t the kind of person who would want to be part of those government conspiracies, and that’s what those agencies are training agents for.
Ada still remembers the day that she met Leon in Raccoon City Police Department’s underground garage. She had warned him to stay out of all this, but he was like a puppy that imprinted on her.
“Ada.”
“Ada?”
“Ada!”
He had called her so many times that night. He thought he hid it well, but those tricks he played sold him out. When she asked how his shoulder was, he answered “worse than it looks”. Too obvious attention seeking. He definitely had a crush on her. Something that could be exploited.
She thought it would be easy, using him to get the G-virus sample, and dispose of him when he is useless. If he is going to cooperate all the way, she will even let him go alive.
But the goddamn Annette Birkin just had to tell on her, and the goddamn Leon just happened to take in Annette’s words.
They were pointing guns at each other now.
“Then you shoot me. But I don’t think you can.” He put down his gun.
And she just couldn’t pull that goddamn trigger.
He’s not pointing at her now so he was no threat, right? So she could still let him go alive, right? She’s a spy that works with no necessary moral conduct, which doesn't mean she has to wipe out anyone that knew her mission, right?
So she lowered her gun too. Then the goddamn Annette shot her. Then the NEST was collapsing, so she took the chance to escape from confronting Leon again. Faking her death.
Such a pity. If everything went as she planned, if Leon had never doubted her, she may even agree to one of the dates he will ask her when they are out of Raccoon City. She knows Leon definitely would ask her, he’s very bold, and she actually likes that about him.
There’s nothing on Leon that doesn’t make people like him. Leon is young, handsome, caring, some kind of character that could only appear in fictions. There’s nothing on him that she doesn’t like. If only anything, that would be he is too keen to what is “the right thing to do”. That is still something cute about him, just that it made her hard to do her job.
She is curious of course, why he would join the agency. Those people aren’t necessarily representatives about what’s right. She observed him from the shadows sometimes when she was free. She knew Leon saw her, by the look on his face that he had seen some ghost. She would chuckle in secret whenever that happens. Still so cute.
He got more built now, with those training sessions. He is always frowning, trying to make himself look like there’s a whole world’s burden on his shoulder. To her eyes, he has nothing changed except for his shape and fighting skills. Soon he will be out of the agency and be in the field, completing missions on his own. They may even be going to see each other again. He will be so surprised to learn she wasn’t dead – yet – and she wonders what will this puppy say to her.
She is going to wait for that day to come. In the meantime, she is going to prepare some leash. She had let go of her puppy once, and she’s not going to let that happen twice, and she’s not going to let anyone else get to him first.

“Ada, can you hear me?” Leon was calling her, and there’s wind and monsters roaring.
“Come on, wake up.” he says, “If you are really Ada, I know you can pull through this. We both can.”
Ah… yes, they are in China. And there’s this Simmons and Carla that stole her identity and made her notorious. She is not easy on letting things go like Leon would sometimes.
“I…I was just resting my eyes.”
“You shouldn’t sleep on the job.” He chuckled, holding her up to stand. She saw his bullet proof vest was pretty torn to shield her from Simmons’ attack. She definitely should award her puppy a little bit.
She saw the bear charm she gave him maybe ten years ago is still dangling on his belt. A bit dirty, worn, but still in good condition. Always this cute. Maybe she should award him a ring this time. She has seen him teaming up with too many other women. He will know the meaning.
“You belong WITH ME, ADA !!!” Simmons is roaring in the background again. She rolled her eyes. Whatever she is going to award Leon later, Simmons and Carla are the first she’s going to finish.
