Work Text:
The gym lights were still buzzing overhead.
The final whistle had blown, and Seonghyeon’s team erupted into loud cheers.
But his eyes were already searching through the chaos for one person.
Junhyuk.
Everyone in the school knew they were rivals.
The heated stares across the court, the sharp shoulder bumps, the way neither of them ever backed down.
It was common knowledge.
But in private, things were different.
They were… friends? Best friends?
They didn’t even know what to call it themselves.
They had turned the old storage room behind the equipment shed into their secret hangout spot.
Yesterday, tucked away on that couch, they had made a deal.
Whoever won today’s game could ask the other to do whatever they wanted.
Seonghyeon had won.
After the game, they went back to their teams, packed their bags in the locker rooms, and washed up in the school showers.
When Seonghyeon finally pushed open the door to their secret room, Junhyuk was already waiting.
He sat manspread on the old couch, arms stretched lazily along the backrest.
His hair was still damp from the shower.
The top buttons of his uniform shirt were undone.
Fuck. Junhyuk looked so hot.
Seonghyeon stepped inside, spinning the basketball on his finger.
He stopped a few feet away from him and smirked.
Before he could say anything, Junhyuk cut in, voice annoyed.
“So? What do you want?”
Seonghyeon looked at him for a second.
Then he threw the ball toward the bin of stacked basketballs in the corner.
It landed perfectly.
“I was thinking of…” Seonghyeon started, crossing his arms.
He walked over and sat down right next to him.
He leaned his arm on the backrest behind him so he could get a better look at his face.
Junhyuk turned toward him, quietly observing.
That confident posture, the sly smile playing on his lips.
Junhyuk felt curious behind that expression.
Seonghyeon pointed to his own cheek.
Junhyuk raised his eyebrows.
“What?”
“Kiss me.”
“WHAT?!” Junhyuk yelped, acting like he never wanted to kiss him anywhere else at all.
Seonghyeon didn’t flinch.
“Hm, I’m waiting.”
Junhyuk stared at him, trying to figure out if he was joking.
He wasn’t.
Junhyuk sighed heavily.
Slowly, he leaned in and pressed his lips against Seonghyeon’s cheek.
The kiss was soft and quick.
When he pulled away, Seonghyeon’s voice came out low and satisfied.
“Mmm… good boy.”
Junhyuk immediately burst into laughter.
“You didn’t just call me that!”
Seonghyeon tried to hold his laugh in, but he gave up after a second.
Both of them were laughing now.
“I’m sorry,” Seonghyeon said between chuckles, still grinning.
After a few seconds, the laughter died down.
Seonghyeon’s face turned serious again.
“I also want one more thing before I have to leave.”
Junhyuk mirrored his serious expression, eyes locked on him.
“What is it?” Junhyuk asked, voice curious.
Seonghyeon didn’t answer.
Instead, his hand moved up from his lap.
His fingers gently caught Junhyuk’s chin and pulled him closer.
He pressed their lips together.
Junhyuk froze for a second, eyes wide open.
Then, after a heartbeat, he kissed back.
Seonghyeon pulled away just enough to catch his breath.
Their foreheads stayed close.
He stared at Junhyuk’s slightly wet lips and let out a soft chuckle.
He had finally kissed him.
Before Seonghyeon could say anything, Junhyuk leaned in again.
He slid his hand to Seonghyeon’s shoulder, pulling him even closer.
This time, the kiss felt deeper, hungrier.
Seonghyeon eventually broke it, breathing a little harder.
“I have to go now,” he murmured, reluctantly letting go of Junhyuk’s chin.
He stood up and walked to the door.
When he reached it, he turned back around and winked.
“Ya! You’re crazy, you know?!” Junhyuk called after him, voice loud and half-laughing.
Seonghyeon only smiled as he closed the door behind him and headed to his afternoon class.
