The Order of the Phoenix was very desperate.

Albus Dumbledore was a in a pickle, he understood that after the death of Cedric Diggory, Harry was in an all time low. Alas, he simply could not allow even a sliver of information due to the miniscule chance of Harry Potter being a Horcrux.

Well, the best way to know, was to ask Harry himself — or an alternate version of him who had won against Voldemort, he supposed.

He had made sure to check the ritual meticulously, and had checked in with some of his old pals during his ex's war effort for a second opinion, good times. All that left was to mani-, make Harry understand the severity of the situation so that he would sit in the, totally not dark arts, magic circle.

Of course, Albus Dumbledore should have known that nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. As he now sat there, with a boy wearing a monocle on his left eye. The end of the young man's lips quirked upwards, as if trying to keep in a laugh.
