Chapter Text
“Jon, I can hardly believe you’ll make it past 10:30.”
“Dami-” Jon yawns, “I’m sure I can at least last till midnight.”
The boys were in Damian’s room, playing some latest edition of Monk-e Monsters, but Damian hadn’t really been paying attention to which one it was exactly. Nor was he truly paying attention to the game itself. Sure, he was winning, but his attention was fixed on the boy next to him.
He looks over at his partner and decides to make a decision. Not because he cares for his partner or anything like that, but because if his partner is sleep deprived, he would just be a dead weight on missions.
“We’re going to bed.”
“But Dami! It’s barely even 10.”
“I can see the sleep in your eyes Jon, let’s just go to bed.”
Jon yawns again, “Hmm, maybe you’re right.”
They climb into Damian’s bed. Damian pulls the blanket over the both of them. He lies down next to Jon, knowing that he won’t be able to sleep so soon, but alas, it is what his partner needed.
It seems as though in the time it took Damian to ponder this, Jon has already fallen asleep with his back towards Damian. He carefully covers the young super with the blanket, and lies down next to him. He closes his eyes to at least attempt to sleep when he suddenly feels a heavy weight draped over his legs. His eyes shoot open, expecting some form of danger, and his hand already on his weapon, but instead realizes that the weight belongs to Jon’s leg. He tries to shift away from it, and instead of moving away, he manages to shift closer to Jon, who then wraps an arm around his neck and tucks his head into the crook of Damian’s neck. Damian is as stiff as a statue, but doesn’t dare to move further, in fear that he might wake the super.
Surprisingly, sleep finds him easily that night, and he is out in 10 minutes.
Alfred comes to check in on the boys, hoping to ensure they make it to bed on time. What he finds instead is Master Damian wrapped in the embrace of Master Jonathan, while both are fast asleep. He smiles warmly, knowing they both will deny any such sightings of them, and slowly closes the door, careful not to wake the young boys up.
