Welcome 

Some of you are going to scroll right past this and I respect that, but it felt necessary, so here we are.

I promised myself I wouldn't write in this fandom again. My first fic here sat mostly unread for months — it's doing well on the rankings now, which is funny and slightly embarrassing, but at the time the silence was enough for me to pack up and spend a long while in the Glory fandom instead. I needed the engagement to keep going and I wasn't getting it here.

Then early April, one day before an exam, inspiration hit the way it does when it has no manners whatsoever — suddenly and completely. I wrote until I had a rough shape of where this was going and two chapters down before the first day was out. I know better than to ignore a sign like that.

So I'm back. By the time this goes up, my first fic in this fandom will be turning one year old or close to it. It's out there if anyone's curious enough to look.

Here's what I need you to know going in: I am someone who writes for engagement. Comments, votes, even just the occasional keyboard smash in the reactions — that's the fuel. A lot of my fics have gone on hiatus or been quietly abandoned not because I fell out of love with them but because writing into silence is genuinely demoralising and I'd rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise. If you want this one to last, engage. 

That's the deal.

I've been banking chapters, so there's a buffer — but the buffer runs out eventually.

This fic starts mid-Season 1 and runs through Season 2. It centres an original male character who I've worked very hard to fit into this world properly, alongside the canon cast. There will be other OCs where the story needs them. I'm going for every dynamic and trope I always wanted to see explored in this fandom — done right, done with intention, and done in a way that hopefully justifies how long it's taken me to come back.

I'm proud of this one.
