Chapter Text
Things have been tense in the fans' team. Nobody has talked about what happened during the challenge. Something happened in the middle of the challenge, Aiden still wasn't sure what. His breathing got heavy, he started sweating, everything felt like it was spinning. Not because he ran out of stamina or anything either, the challenge had just started. His only guess was that the pressure of this competition got to him in a way it never had before, and his body went into fight or flight mode. Emily stopped the challenge halfway through, and he had to sit out once he finally calmed down, costing his team the win. It's been a bit awkward. Nobody on the team is heartless of course, they made sure he was alright (even people who weren't in his alliance, people he had planned on voting off next.) Nobody really knew what to say though. They thought it was best to give him space.
Aiden crawled out of the spot he was in, the makeshift "tent" the team was sleeping in. The first person he saw outside of it was Ara, trying (and honestly failing) to cook fish. She seemed focused on it, trying to let it not burn. Aiden tapped her on the shoulder. Ara jumped, as if she didn't hear him, the shock causing her to fumble and then drop the fish into the fire, charring it to ash.
"God damnit! Do you know how long it took me to catch--" Ara started, but stopped after realizing it was Aiden. Ara might be mean, but he didn't want to rock the boat with Aiden. "Uh, Aiden. How are you... feeling?" Ara had never been good at comforting people.
"Ara... I need to ask you for a favor. And I need you to tell everyone else. That means everyone on this team. I don't... I don't think I can play this game anymore."
