Chapter Text
Jason was tired. I mean. He was always tired but right now more than usual because right now he was kidnapped and chained to a chair.
By the justice league.
In space.
In their super secret headquarters in space.
fuck
It had started off as a normal-ish day.
He had woken up, made himself scrambled eggs, etcetera etcetera until B had called him and asked him to infiltrate and monitor a rising drug ring while he went on a JL mission off world. Jason said yes like a good little soldier and had set off.
He spent pretty much the entire day as red hood waiting for a meeting with the supposed leaders of the aforementioned drug ring, which he had gotten with some light threatening and maybe a touch of violence, and then of fucking course earths mightiest hero’s had to sweep in and ruin it.
Jason had been sitting on a crate waiting in the suspiciously empty warehouse for his meeting when the fucking Boy Scout broke through the the wall. Jason was slammed into a wall, fought back a little bit, may or may not have kicked Green Arrow in the junk, and then promptly got slammed into another wall by Wonder Woman and promptly lost consciousness.
Then he’d woken up here.
In space.
Handcuffed to a fucking chair.
With a soft groan Jason began taking stock things. His head fucking hurts and the bright fluorescent lighting in whatever room they had sure as shit wasn’t helping, so he definitely had a concussion. Every time he breathed he could feel his ribs shifting which definitely didn’t bode well for him, his right shoulder felt funny and he couldn’t move it without extreme agony, and his left ankle was throbbing. All in all not the worst he’s had.
the crowbar makes an awe full scraping sound on the concrete
Jason has to fight to keep his head down and breathing steady he door clicks and swings open with a slight creek.
Immediately a female voice speaks, “no use in pretending red hood, we know you are awake.”
Jason reluctantly blinks his eyes open with a barely restrained groan, and comes face to face with Wonder Woman. Great. I mean, great for the fan boy in Jason but definitely and decidedly not great for the situation he’s in right now.
Also standing in front of him are Superman, Black Canary, the Flash, and Green arrow. Shit.
“Wow,” Jason says, a practiced smile playing on his lips even though the helmet conceals it, “wasn’t expecting such a party for my arrival.”
The Boy Scout begins speaking, “we have some questions for you that you will answer.”
Jason smirks, “Mmmm… see I don’t know about that. Don’t I have a ‘right to remain silent’? Can I get a lawyer up here? Something about this feels unconstitutional.”
Green Arrow growls, “We aren’t playing your games criminal! You will answer our questions then we’ll send you right back to Arkham where you belong.”
Jason’s whole body stiffens at that.
Then he starts shaking, violent and terrified
“No.” He whispers, “no no no no no no…”
he repeats it over, and over, and over, and over
He’s shaking, he can’t breathe. The hero’s are talking to him but he can’t hear them, all he can hear is laughing. Laughing and the sound of metal against bone.
a crowbar scrapes against concrete. All he can see is green hair and a bright red smile. “I guess daddy bats isn’t coming to save his little birdie, so let’s have some fun”
Jason struggles against the cuffs connecting him to the chair. He can’t be here, not with the monster right there, but he can’t escape.
He feels the pressure around his wrist finally snap, and the chair he’s in is falling, and he’s falling with it.
He hits the ground and fuck his ribs hurt, but all he feels is the urgent need to leave, to run, to hide.
He crawls to a corner and curls in on himself. He makes himself smaller so that the monster with the horrible laugh wont see him.
He wont see him and maybe Jason will be safe.
He can’t breathe.
Something’s wrong and the monster is still laughing and Jason can’t breath.
He presses himself into a tighter ball.
There’s a pinching feeling on his arm.
The laughing finally stops and everything goes black.
