Chapter Text
Cold, that's all I felt at that moment as I was surrounded by a dark endless abyss, my body felt completely weightless and yet no matter how hard I try, I couldn't move at all, as i slowly regain consciousness I noticed I was laying down on something hard, a blinding light hit me as I open my eyes, that's when I took in my surrounding and realize I was on a ship?
"W-what, how-where am I, How did i get here!?"
As i got up my legs instantly felt like gelatin, almost falling down I managed to get my footing before nausea hit me, I'm almost tempted to lie back down again but despite how much my body screams at me to do that, i began to look around to see for anything familiar, but there was nothing but a vast ocean in front of me, the floor beneath creaked with every step, as I continue to look I suddenly heard a voice above me.
"I don't know, u sure you want to keep it?"
But when I looked up, there was nothing but the ship sail, thinking maybe it's was just my imagination. i went back to looking only to be met with a blue face inches from mine. "He's a little skinny if you ask me."
"AHHHHHHHHHH..."
"AHHHHHhhh... ha ha, ha."
"AHhh... what?" The young boy? Continue to laugh as he floated in the air. "Ha ha, you should have seen the look on your face. You were like, ahhhh, and I was like, aaahhhh ha ha." I back away and stare at it in confusion. He was entirely blue, and his clothes clearly had seen better days as his hood was completely torn from one side, revealing an old shirt and pants underneath and had a few barnacles on it. "w-who or what are you!?" The young boy instantly stopped laughing and looked at me with annoyance.
"Well, aren't you a rude little fella? Isn't it obvious, I am the great pirate king of the 7 sea."
"Really?"
"No, you kelp for brains. I'm a ghost, isn't that obvious."
"What, there's no such thing as a ghost." There can't be, that just something Grown Ups say to scare their dumb kids into doing their homework or eat they're vegetarian. But clearly, this 'ghost' boy didn't seem to agree.
"Really then, what am I, child liver on the ghost side? Honestly, first, you deny my existence before you even ask for my name. You truly are a rude one, aren't you?" He said, turning his back on me while i stood there unsure what to do next, and although still shaken, i couldn't help but feel bad about it.
"Oh, I guess that was kind of rude of me, I'm sorry."
"Well, I guess I could...... forgive you if you tell me your name." He said, turning around with a grin, which honestly made me kind of nervous and almost hesitant to give him my name, but I told him anyways.
"M-my name's Zacharie Storm, but most just call me Zak."
"Dumb name."
And I'm no longer nervous. Irritated now, I still ask, "Ok... and what's your name?"
"Nunya."
"Nunya?"
"Nunya fucking business."
"... your not a very nice ghost are you." Not even a second he suddenly got in front of my face again looking at me like he wanted me dead, as Cold Sweat rush through out my entire body.
"I'm only 'nice' with people 'I' know and right now, all I'm looking at is a human on my ship." But before he could say anything else, an explosion occurred close by causing the ship to rock back violently and tossing me to the side. My head was spinning for a few seconds before I register what was happening and by the time I did I noticed the ghost boy was at the other side of the ship where the explosion happened shouting at something.
"OW, HEY WATCH WHERE YOUR SHOOTING STUPID!!!" I ran over to see what hit us only to be met by a Battleship rising from the water racing towards us.
"Shit, time to get out of here." Disappearing from my side and reappearing at the steering wheel, he gave me a huge grin. "You might want to hold on if you value your life."
"Wha-" Before I could question him, I was suddenly slammed right into the ship walls as we went full speed across the water as the Battleship continued to chase us down. I held on for dear life in order not to be throne off as the ship sharply turned to dodge every attack coming towards us but despite how fast we were going that Battleship was gaining ground quickly.
"Dammit, looks like I'm going to have to take this to the Skies."
"TO THE WHAT!?" Before I knew it, the ship popped out a pair of rockets from its side and blasted us straight into the sky, ones again slamming me back into the same wall again, seriously what is even happening and also.
"WHERE THE HELL AM I!?!"
"Oh..., so you're a new one. Well, in that case, welcome to the Bermuda Triangle... AH." The ship suddenly stop slamming me down to the ground hard but despite the pain I somehow managed to get up and look to the side and notice a pair of hooks lodged at the rocket side, keeping the ship in place and slowly pulling us down.
"Shit." I heard the ghost boy said before reappear at my side, picking me up suddenly, then toss me into a random room. "Stay there and don't touch my stuff."
"Wait!" And once again, before I could ask anything, he slammed the door right in my face.
~ghost boy pov~
After dealing with that stowaway, I reappear at the steering wheel as i try to steady my grip on it, ready to face the music. "Well, time to greet that old bag of bones." Even as we slowly descend from the sky, i can feel those hooks pulling at the engine like a irritated thorn at my side, I'm going to have to take a look at those later, as we landed in the water I let bones and his crew walk on board, their present alone was enough to make one feel suffocated to be around and judging by their leader face (or lack of) it was something serious.
"Clovis."
"Old bag of bones." I greeted him with a playful bow as he simply rolled his eyes at me clearly annoyed at the nickname.
"(Sigh) I do wish you stop calling me that."
"Sure, once you stop being an old bag of bones, anyways, why the sudden visit, I'm not in trouble again, am I?" Despite the Mysterious grin I was giving, I really do hope I'm not in trouble again. This week has not been that great, and this is the last thing I need. But thankfully, that didn't seem to be the case (at least I hope so) as Golden Bones shook his head.
"Are radars picked up a strong energy source coming from this area, and seeing as you are the only ship around, have you noticed anything strange lately?"
"Who knows this is the Bermuda Triangle, after all strange things happen all the time here." Shrugging my shoulder, I tried to act like I couldn't care less, but his common wasn't something to be ignored.
"Mmm.... If that's the case, you don't mind if we search the perimeter, do you."
"Sure, I got nothing to hide, though do be careful. The chaos has been a little bit feisty lately."
"Nodded." Watched bones and his crew walk off, i couldn't help but had a bad feeling, so while no one was looking, I transported back to my quarters where I felt the stowaway.
~Author pov~
Zak storm watched the whole interaction from the window attached to the door as clovis appeared in the room, scaring the young lad, but the ghost boy simply ignored him, frustrated he started rambling to himself. "Fucking hell, first I got a stowaway on board and now there's a weird power source near me, (sigh) seriously what are the chances...." Suddenly as if coming to a realization the ghost boy snapped his head in the young lad Direction pointing his finger at him.
"You! How did you get here?"
"What do you mean how did I get here!?"
"Exactly, no one just simply 'shows up,' meaning you must have done something to get here, so how?"
"I don't know. i don't even remember what happened. The last thing I recall was a weird glow coming off my necklace, and before i knew it, i ended up here!" The ghost boy stood there, his eyes widen as he slowly asked.
"... do you still have your necklace?"
"Yah...? It's right here-" The young lad pulled out a necklace from the inside of his t-shirt, but before he could say anything else, it was ripped off his neck by the ghost as he examine it closer. "OW, HEY, that hurts give that back!" But despite the young lad protest, the ghost boy didn't turn around. Instead, he simply asked in a low tone.
"Why do you have this?"
"Wha-" Suddenly, the ghost boy grabbed him by the collar harshly, lifted him slightly above the ground, his hands wouldn't stop shaken, looking at him as if a great terror was upon them.
"WHY do you have this? Do you even realize what you have here!"
"Ahh..."
"Right, I forgot you're new here. Alright, let's do this." said Clovis as he dropped zak. "Chaos, you mind setting the mood." Just as the ghost boy said that a low rumble could be heard and felt throughout the entire ship as a device with a dome was lowered from the ceiling while the windows shut its blinds plunging the room in darkness, suddenly a hologram appear from the device illuminated the area and revealing a pyramid with weird symbols on it. Zak dusted himself off, was mesmerizing by what he was seeing, as he got closer, Clovis begin his explanation.
"You heard of the legends, right? how planes and boats suddenly disappeared without a trail, especially once crossing forbidden Waters. Well, what if I told you those weren't just Legends."
"What?!"
"That's right, anything that ever got lost at sea, usually wand up here. It's like its own little pocket, except once you enter, you never leave."
After saying all that, the young lad couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was he serious right now he can't be. "This can't be real. This has to be a dream."
"That's what they all say, but dream or not, you're stuck here."
"No no no no no..... wake up, wake up. Come on, please." In desperation he began slapping his cheek repeatedly in hopes of waking up but at last it was useless as it's simply gave him reddish cheeks, while Clovis simply looked at him like he was an idiot, quietly he rambling to himself.
"(Sigh) You think after seeing a ghost and a flying ship, they get it at this point." Clapping his hands together loudly, he gotten the young lad attention as he looked at the ghost boy with tears in his eyes. "Well, I might as well give you the rundown, so listen up because I'm only gonna say this once." He then proceeds to point at the hologram with a familiar symbol on it.
"As you know this is the Bermuda Triangle but we just call it the triangle for short and there are 7 seas, right now we're in the sea of water also known as Beru, there's also Aeria, sea of clouds, Zite, sea of stars and many more, though I do recommend wearing a ton of sunscreen if you're planning to visit Blazz as it does get a little hot over there."
"T-this can't be happening. i-i gotta get home. There's gotta be a way out. I can't be stuck here forever!?" The young lad begged gripping the edge of his shirt tightly, clearly afraid, but the ghost boy just simply looked bored as he couldn't care less about his situation.
"Yah, well, many have tried to find a way out, but it all ends the same. Either you give up and accept reality, or you die, and trust me, even in death, you can't escape this place. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here dealing with you." Despite trying to make light of the situation, the young lad only felt a rising sickness in his guts.
"Oh God, I think I'm going to be sick."
"Hey, don't you dare puke on my ship. At least do that after you get rid of this thing." He said, holding up Zak necklace as if it was a disease, but Zak just looked at Clovis angritely, getting frustrated and sick of his attitude with the ghost boy in front of him that he shouted.
"WHY? Why should I get rid of my necklace hun? For all I know, THAT thing could be my only way out of here." Although the ghost boy had a bored look on his face inside he understand where his anger was coming from and felt a little guilty for being one of the reason for it, so he might as well throw him a bone.
"well your not wrong." He mumbles to himself just loud enough to catch the young lads attention.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, just this thing you got here." He said, holding out the necklace in front of his face. "It might as well be your best way of getting out."
"Why do you say that?"
"Well, for instance what you got here is part of a key, a key that happened to be on this ship, that a certain someone really wants and shouldn't have, because if he gets his grimy little bones hands on it then we might as well kiss are freedom goodbye."
"Ok, and?"
"And...legends says that if you can unlock all seven seas you will be granted full control over it and who knows you might even be able to unlock away out of here, of course it's all just speculation at the moment but it's good to have a little hope sometime." He toss the necklace back to the young lad as he studied his face closely, upon hearing that the young lad eyes shine with hope and determination at the fact that there might be a way to leave and with that he held his necklace close to his chest as Clovis felt satisfied that he managed to cheer up the lad despite knowing the danger ahead, he didn't care as long as it's get the kid off his ship.
"Anyways." Stretching out his limbs, he floated towards the door as the room returned to it's original state, as he was done with the conversation for now. "I think I spent enough time in here, I'm gonna to go see if Goldie Gold and his minions left or not." Before he left, he had one final thing to say. "And just so you know, if I start shouting, there's a hiding spot between the two book cases, ok bye." He instantly disappeared, leaving Zak confused and slightly concern.
"Wait, what?"
Just as Clovis reappears outside his quarters, he is met with Golden Bones and his crew standing in front of him, looking at him with suspicion. "And where did you go all of a sudden? It's unlike you to suddenly disappear during an inspection."
"Oh, you know, just had some extra inventory in the back that needed sorting out. You did catch me by surprise, after all."
"Is that so? well, in that case, you don't mind if we check this 'inventory', do you?"
"Oof course not, in fact I would be delighted for all of you to come in. It's just, remember how I mention that the chaos was a bit feisty earlier." Backing up his back eventually hit the door. He knew he couldn't let them find out about the stowaway, or otherwise, his safety was at jeopardy.
"Indeed, one of my workers has had their head knocked off while checking the engine. Clearly, the chaos is still mad at me for using the hooks on them."
"YES, that's totally the reason. In fact, because of that, the chaos refuses to open their door. Just give me a second. " With a moment of hesitation, Clovis suddenly started banging on the door while shouting at it, almost sounding desperate, surprising everyone on board.
"HEY CHAOS, OPEN UP ALREADY!!!" While banging the door, Clovis tries to listen for anything inside to see if the stowaway heard him while hoping he remembers what he said moment ago.
"COME ON, OPEN UP AND LET GOLDIE IN!!!" A few of the crew members snicker in the background while Golden Bones simply look done with them. Distracted, he listened closely and heard scuttling footstep frantically moving about and a wooden door opening inside. Internally, he breathed a sigh of relief, knowing his cover was safe for now.
"Come on, stop being so stubborn." A low rumble was felt throughout the ship, and whatever the chaos said clearly offended Clovis.
"Don't give me that attitude."
"ENOUGH!! Move aside." Pushing Clovis aside, golden bones slammed his hook on the door handle, forcing it open, but the moment he did, Clovis instantly held onto his arm clearly in distress. "Ow!"
Golden Bones looked back with a moment of hesitation before proceeding opening the door, only to reveal an empty room. Going in golden bones inspected the room top to bottom, but inevidently, he didn't find anything suspicious. "Mmm... It seems like everything is in order."
"Yah, so I guess that's concluding your search. There's no need to spend more time on unnecessary things, yes?" Clovis tries to push golden bones out of his quarters as fast as possible, but due to his large size he barely moved an inch. Golden Bones amuse by the young spectre antics simply picked him up behind his hood.
"Alright, no need to rush. i understand you have places to be and more." But the moment they were out the door a large thud was heard behind them, turning their heads they both saw Zak on the ground cover in cobwebs. Clovis, although hesitant, slowly he turned his head back towards golden bones, and was faced with his disappointment, which he knew at that moment he was in trouble (again).
