It was finally ending.
After all this time, it was ending.
This world that Eye had spent so much time in, made so many memories in..
Met him in.
It was ending.
He stared into the void.
The dark abyss that never seemed to have an end.
His breath hitched.
his fists clenched.
No matter how many times he had jumped it never got easier.
He startles as he feels a warm familiar hand slip into his.
He looks up at the man whom he had almost forgotten was with him.
“It will be okay Eye” the man says gently cupping his cheek and smiling softly.
Eye leans into his prince's hand. “You don't know that vista..” He Breathes softly to the other. “I can't lose you, not again.”
Vista chuckles softly “You won't ever lose me my dear.” He says to the man in front of him. “I am yours as you are mine, nothing would ever separate us.” He whispers to the other softly.
They two stay like that, in the comfortable silence, neither wanting to let the moment end.
Finally after what feels like forever, the silence is broken.
“Vista, I'm kind of scared.” Eye blurts out, turning his head to look at the void.
“Of what?” The man questions, following the others gaze into the black.
“I… I don't know.” Eye admits “What if, what if we end up somewhere worse?” He looks back at the other who turns to him with playful confusion.
“How? How can anything be any worse than this stupid place?” He questions with a smirk on his face. Clearly trying to get a rise out of his partner.
Eye scoffs at the man. “You don't know.” He counters. “I mean I guess we’ll find out right?”
“I mean, yeah, we’ve already committed to this like too much.” Vista agrees.
Another scoff. “Yeah, whatever. Let's get this shit over with.”
“Let's go. I’ll see you on the other side Eye.” Vista steps forward towards the void.
“Fuck you buddy.” Eye states, trying for irritation but failing to hide the affection in his voice.
Vista laughed, flashing him a crooked grin. “Okkayy.”
Then he grabbed Eye’s hands and leapt.
Eye barely had time to yelp before they were falling, the void swallowing them whole.
He was falling again.
But this time—
He wasn't alone.
