Work Text:

Surrounded by freely floating autumn leaves, Nagomu sat down on a wooden bench, wrapping his scarf tighter around his neck.

It was starting to get pretty chilly during this time of the year, the breeze was already colder than during the summer. Nagomu didn't want to risk getting a cold, so he wore a red, knitted scarf, and a warm, almond colored coat.

He was here to meet up with Lion. He wasn't sure why, although he wasn't the one to complain. He was the one who got invited, without many additional details. The weather was slightly inconvenient, yes, but it wasn't something he wouldn't be able to cope with.
During his walk, Kazu sent him multiple messages, about if he's really, truly, 100% sure about this meeting.

Well, Kazu didn't know a lot of details. Nagomu was getting along really well with Lion. Probably more than just that. They would usually talk to each other during or after practice, sometimes maybe even go and get some drinks in a nearby cafeteria.
The blonde haired boy felt bad for leaving out his younger brother, although he knew he wouldn't like this friendship. Of course, Kazu would most likely put up with it, “as long as his Nii-san is happy”, but this wasn't convincing enough for Nagomu.

Kazu only accidentally found out about Nagomu’s and Lion's meeting, since he just so happened to see a notification from Lion pop up on Nagomu's lock screen.

“I hope Kazu’s not upset…” He murmured to himself, before looking off in the distance.
They arranged a meeting in a park, and since all of the XLAMV members had a day off today, they could meet up before noon, so they had a lot of time available to spend together.

“Hey,” a voice called out to him from the distance, “hopefully you didn't have to wait for too long.”
Nagomu looked towards the source of the sound, and saw a familiar face, walking towards him.
“Mm, it's okay, Lion.” The blonde smiled, which wasn't met with a smile back, but Nagomu could see some happiness on the white haired man’s face.

“Here, this one is yours.” Lion handed over a steaming paper cup with some kind of beverage inside. He most likely got it from a cafeteria close by.
“Mm? Thank you, what is it?” Nagomu brought it closer to his face, letting the steam warm his cold cheeks slightly.
“Tea. Hope that's alright. I have some as well.” Lion said, before taking a sip from his drink. He quickly pulled away though, sticking his tongue out, huffing.
“Too hot?” Nagomu looked over at him, worried by his sudden reaction.
“Yeah.” Lion, clearly already slightly annoyed, sighed.

Lion treated Nagomu with… kindness. He would rarely get upset when he was around, since he knew Nagomu didn't like his angry outbursts. He would try to smile, even if he usually failed, or got too embarrassed to continue.
The two of them tried to keep this friendship private, away from Issei's “annoying comments”, as Lion called them, and to “protect Kazu's sanity”, as Nagomu more or less implied.
They acted as if they were more than a couple of friends, or something.

“So, Lion… Why did you invite me?”
The man looked away, seemingly embarrassed, as his cheeks turned pink. Nagomu patiently waited, slightly confused, and now progressively getting more worried. Lion was usually horrible with his words, especially if emotions were involved, and he didn't want to hurt the other person.
“Lio–”
“Let's just walk around for now.”
Lion got up from the bench, followed by Nagomu as well.

“The weather is… kinda shit, isn't it.” Lion stated, as he had to grip his scarf to prevent it from flying away. Nagomu chuckled, amused by the absurdity of this. Lion was the one who invited him, after all.
“Mm, but it's alright, if you decided to meet during such a windy day, then it must've been important, right…?” Nagomu took a sip out of his drink.
“...” Lion suddenly stopped walking, lowering his hand with his drink. He was staring at the ground, clearly lost in thought, with frustration showing on his face again.

“Hm? Lion?” Nagomu turned towards him, since he managed to get in front of the white haired man.
“Tsk, whatever, just push me away if you hate it, alright?”
“Wha–”

Lion didn't say anything else, and instead rapidly got even closer to Nagomu, which made the blonde drop his drink.

Out of nowhere, a voice and a rustle came from out of the bushes-
“Nagomu-nii san, your drink!”

Nagomu didn't focus on Kazu suddenly appearing out of nowhere, since Lion was quite literally less than a centimeter away from his face, reaching with his lips towards the blonde. A kiss?!

Nagomu didn't mind. He did love Lion back, most likely. He sort of… melted into it, completely forgetting about the voice he just heard a second ago.

When he got out of the sudden trance though, he noticed Kazu standing a few meters behind Lion, with a confused face. His expression seemed unreadable.

Both of them pulled away from the kiss, looking over at the boy.
“Hey, why are you here.” Lion’s blush from a second ago seemed to turn into an angry fluster instead.
“Hanya?” Apparently, Cuc was here too. He popped out of the bushes, suddenly surprised by how windy it was when the leaves weren't covering him.
“Cuc too…?” Nagomu gave the two of them confused and worried stares.

Why were they here, how did they find the two of them? And did they see anything? Well, they most likely did, but for how long have they been following?

“Kazu, was… worried… So, he invited Cuc!” Cuc exclaimed, getting closer to Kazu, exchanging confused stares with him. It looked like Cuc didn't see the… kiss… or anything similar at all.
“I- I- I wasn't planning on stalking you, Nagomu nii-san! Or anything like that!” Kazu nervously started rambling.
“I never said you were…” Nagomu sighed, waiting for Kazu to continue.
“I just… wanted to make sure Lion wasn't planning anything suspicious, okay? Since apparently the others have been seeing you with him a lot, so of course I got worried! And, you didn't really tell me anything either…”

Now, Nagomu felt bad. Why did he keep everything a secret, really? Kazu would probably understand if Nagomu wanted to meet up with Lion. They're… friends, or more than that. Kazu also has a close friend, which would he Cuc, and he never hesitated to tell Nagomu that he's meeting up with him.

“I just… didn't want you to get upset or worried about me meeting up with Lion, that's all.” Nagomu admitted.
“Why are you two treating me like I'm dangerous or something, huh.” Lion sent them confused stares. “Listen, I will take care of Nagomu, as his boyfriend, okay?”

“Boyfriend?”
“Huh?”
“Hanya?”

“Are we dating…?” Nagomu looked over at Lion, in something akin to disbelief. It wasn't negative, though.
“You two are already dating…?!” Kazu bursted out, with Cuc holding him stable in one place, in case he wanted to throw himself at something or someone.
“Shit, sorry I misspoke-”
“I mean, I don't… mind if you want to be my boyfriend?” Nagomu cut Lion off, looking down at the ground, spotting the long abandoned spilled tea, which stained his right shoe.
“... Huh? You serious?”
“Mm, yeah… Unless I misunderstood something…”
“No, I mean you didn't, I mean… Sure, let's start dating. Or… whatever.” Lion's face was more red than a tomato, but he couldn't care much.

“Lion, if you ever treat Nii-san in a bad way, I will–” Kazu started fuming, but Cuc held him back, hugging from behind to stop him from making any irrational moves.
“Kazu, it's alright! They will… happily date, yes?” Cuc looked over at Kazu, leaning closer to his face, so he could see his expression better.
“C- Cuc, you're too–” Kazu sighed, also getting flustered. “Alright, fine.”

“These kids aren't any better at this shit.” Lion rolled his eyes, seeing how affectionate the younger two were being.
Nagomu smiled, taking Lion's hand in his. He has a real boyfriend now, he still couldn't believe it.
“So… everything turned out well in the end, right?” Nagomu smiled towards Lion, and for the first time in a while, he was met with a soft smile back.
“... Yeah.”

The wind has now stopped blowing, letting the sun brighten up their new beginning.
