Giyuu is walking towards a small village. It is currently winter so he wore extra clothing underneath his clothes. Ofcourse that didn’t work as he has hypothermia from when his sister died. But back to the story, He got assigned to a mission by their master, Ubuyashiki, to go to that small village since there has been missing people there and many people has reported seeing inhuman creatures.
A while after walking, he arrived at his destination. The village was small but had an average amount of people. It was night so he didn’t really pay much attention to how much people were living there. The night was quiet, the only sound heard was his gentle breathing. He decided to patrol for a bit since he didn’t see any demons yet.
There were few people still outside. Some came in groups, while the others were alone. Nothing happened after a few minutes but the longer he stayed there, the more impatient he became. The snow was still present and it became colder as the night deepened.
It didn’t take long before a scream was heard. Giyuu suddenly turned where that scream came from and running towards it. After all, it is his duty as a hashira. As he arrived at the sound of the scream, he saw 4 people looking horrified.
“What happened?!” Giyuu asked, looking at the group.
“SOMETHING! SOME CREATURE JUST FUCKING GRABBED OUR FRIEND!”
“Where did they go?”
“IN- IN THAT HOUSE! JUST PLEASE SAVE OUR FRIEND!”
Without hesitation, Giyuu barged into that house. He didn’t need permission as that house looked abandoned and dirty. As soon as he looked around, he saw the group’s friend, a female. That’s right, most of the missing people were women. Giyuu looked around in the house. The girl was alive, but barely even breathing! It looked like she was on the brink of death.
The scene was not a pretty sight. But that was just normal in the line of demon slayers, nothing is easy. Not in fiction, not in real life.
Hi author here, I’m not good at writing gore so just imagine something bad and the demon is doing something idk
Giyuu had already sliced the demon’s head clean. His mission was done, he treated the girl and brought her back to the group of friends, which they thanked him.
He is now walking back to his estate, he already told his crow to tell their master that his mission was successful. But the mission aside, it was starting to get really cold and the way back to his estate looked really far.
After a while of walking, he finally got back to his home, he immediately plopped on his bed. (Ik he doesn’t have one but pretend he has like a mattress) He covered himself in his blanket, attempting to ignore the cold. He spent several minutes looking at his ceiling, trying to fall asleep but he eventually just fell asleep. The blanket didn’t really help. The cold was unbearable and he was practically shivering in his sleep.
The next morning, he woke up to his head feeling like it was hit by a brick and his nose all stuffy and red. He looked at a nearby mirror.
“Great. Just great. The second I wake up, I’m greeted by a fever AND my hypothermia.” He muttered to himself, annoyed.
He rubbed his eyes and stood up. But then he suddenly remembered something.
‘HOLY SHIT THERES A MEETING TODAY AND IM LATE BY ALMOST AN HOUR!’ He thought, rushing to put on his uniform and haori.
He rushed out the door and put on his usual blunt facade. He arrived at the meeting place shortly.
“Look who’s here.” Sanemi scoffed, looking at Giyuu.
“Tomioka, you are 1 hour late. What were you doing?” Gyomei asked.
"Sorry. I overslept." Giyuu replied in his usual monotone voice.
"Are you okay, Tomioka?" Rengoku yelled out, noticing Giyuu's red nose and him looking like he could pass out any minute.
"Im... Fine." Giyuu simply replied.
"You look rather... Sick, Tomioka. Do you mind passing by my estate after this meeting?" Shinobu asked, noticing his appearance.
Mitsuri nodded at Shinobu's question, agreeing. While Muichiro just stood there, listening to them talk. Obanai looked over from a tree, he usually just hangs around, sitting on a tree. Tengen was beside Rengoku.
Before Giyuu could reply, he suddenly felt disoriented and dizzy. Closing his eyes harder, attempting to make the feeling go away. Without any word from anyone, he suddenly passed out, falling on the ground.
"Holy shit!" Sanemi yelled out, shocked by his sudden action.
"Someone help him to my estate, now!" Shinobu ordered.
Giyuu woke up on a hospital bed from Shinobu's estate where she usually treated people. He took a minute to process what happend. He then sat up, still feeling a bit dizzy.
Shinobu, who walked by, saw him and went inside the room.
"Tomioka, you have a high fever and your hypothermia is acting up. What did i tell you if you felt anything wrong?" Shinobu said, looking slightly annoyed.
Giyuu felt slightly embarrassed. "I forgot..."
Shinobu just sighed at his response.
"What?" Sanemi looked at Shinobu.
"GAHH!" Giyuu jumped from shock as he looked at Sanemi who was sitting on a chair beside his bed. "... How long has he been here...?"
Shinobu chuckled at his reaction. "He's the one who carried you here." She replied.
Sanemi turned red, "DONT TELL HIM THAT! NO I DIDN'T!" He refused to admit.
A minute of silence passed before Sanemi remembered his question that he was gonna ask.
"Oh, Kocho, What did you mean by... Hypothermia?" Sanemi asked, glancing at Giyuu before at Shinobu.
"Tomioka has Hypothermia. He didnt want me to tell anyone so im the only one who knew." Shinobu explained. "Since now you know, maybe you could finally persuade him to drink his medicine next time." She added sarcastically.
"Medicine simply tastes bitter. No one would like it." Giyuu looked at Shinobu.
"You're just childish without that mysterious or whatever facade you have." Shinobu teased. "I'll be leaving both of you now."
She then turned and went to leave the room, leaving the two of them.
"Sooooo... You carried me here?" Giyuu asked, looking at Sanemi.
"WHAT?! NO, WHY WOULD I?!' Sanemi looked away from him.
Giyuu just chuckled slightly, while Sanemi glanced at him.
'He just... Laughed. He looks cute... WAIT WHY AM I THINKING OF THIS?!??!?' Sanemi thought, his cheeks getting redder.
