“Tsukki!” Yamaguchi hummed into Tsukishima's ear, making him jump and pivot on his heels. “Happy birthday!” He beamed at him with an abundance of happiness. Tsukki never celebrated his birthday much let alone tell anyone about it. He celebrated his birthday maybe once every like… decade, so of course Yamaguchi had to congratulate him twice. Tsukishima paused, confusion flickering across his face.
“Uhm, thanks again?” He murmured in a low tone, his feet finding their way one step back from him. Yamaguchi let out a breath, a faint smirk still tugged at his lips while volleyballs smacked against the floor behind them.
“Your dreams, they’ll start tonight, right?” Yamaguchi smiled,
“Obviously.”
He nodded, running his hands through his olive brown tinted hair while letting out a sigh and his eyes flickering to his hand. “Right, right hehe…” Tsukishima looked over at him, his lips curved up faintly. He opened his mouth to let out a sarcastic remark before he closed it and made the better choice to elaborate.
“...Yeah, it would be interesting to see how my life will be with my future wife.” haha, yeah… future wife.
After volleyball practice, Hinata found his way to Tsukishima, jumping in front of him to catch his attention. Tsukishima internally scoffs at how he had to jump just to get his attention but Tsukishima reluctantly put his headphones down anyways, giving Hinata the stank eye while looking down at him. “What is it?”
“Tsukishima! Happy birthday!” He beamed, his wide smile burning a permanent hole in his vision. Tsukishima stares at him for a moment, exasperated. “??? You're literally telling me this at the end of the day, you only now remember?” He scowls, looking down at Hinata's pathetic height and face.
“W-WHA?? AT LEAST I SAID IT!” Hinata quickly retorts, subconsciously straightening his posture after he catches his judgy glare, his face flushing. Tsukishima turned away, sliding his headphones back on, the wires passing his slender neck effortlessly with his back to Hinata
“I couldn't have cared less if a shrimp like you said it or not.” He snickered before he walked off nonchalantly, leaving Hinata flustered and pissed.
((ooh tsukishima went to bed omg I wonder if he's gonna dream about his soulmate ahaha))
Tsukishima's vision was a blurred view of an unfamiliar desk with sheets of workpaper on it, he could feel the tenseness and fatigue writhing through his body. Tsukishima could make out the words on the papers, becoming a swirled mess whenever he tried. Everything seemed bigger as well, his calloused finger tips spread on the sheets and his hand wrapped around the pen, even his arms. Then, it hit him like a water jet to the face, he realised what this was: a vision of the future. This could only happen if it was his soulmate dream.
“Tsukki~” A voice rang out from behind him, it was…deep. Yet kind of soothing.. Nowhere close to a feminine voice like he had expected, Tsukishima didn't turn around and only hummed in response. ‘Only Yamaguchi calls me ‘Tsukki’? I probably just let my soulmate call me that since we were so close… Right?... ‘ Internal Tsukishima was already feeling an unfamiliar heat at the core of his body, he wouldn't mind if this dream ended right now to save his dignity. He could hear footsteps approaching him from behind before a pair of arms wrapped around his neck, warm breath spilling from behind his ear.
“You’re all hot and sweaty…” His soulmate whined while pressing soft kisses against the back of his neck, just below his ear. It made him shiver unexpectedly. Tsukishima could feel the heat that rose on his cheeks, shocked that his usually stoic self was so easily affected now. Well, it was his soulmate afterall. Tsukishima finally brought his head back, tilted just enough to get a faint aroma of forest and rain.
“This is what happens after you crash my car and make me do the paper work…”
His soulmate let out a weak giggle, grabbing both sides of his face and turning it up and directly to his face. Tsukishima tried to squint to make out the features, ‘tanned skin… light freckles… green hair and certainly not a woman– ’ Before his eyes could properly focus on the features, soft lips crushed him in a needy or more desperate kiss. Before Tsukishima could even realise it, his hands were moving up to cup his hand with his soulmates, tilting his head back further, deepening the already sloppy kiss.
“Mmh…” Tsukishima involuntarily groans, shocking himself. He could feel his soulmate's lips curl up against his, making Tsukishima turn flustered and a darker shade of crimson.
“You’re so adorable when your all wet like this, Tsukki~”
His body moved again–well more like his tongue. Tsukishima's tongue licked Yamaguchi’s, demanding entry which just left another surprise for the poor guy in his present tense.
Tsukishima's eyes snapped open, his vision still blurred but clearly not in his dream. A slender hand reached out of his blanket, blindly searching his side desk for his glasses before clumsily putting them on his face. “Holy shit..” He cursed under his breath, his blankets sliding off of him as he sits up, evidence of his dream stained pink on his cheeks. His eyes flickered over the clock on his wall, it read 2AM, which made Tsukishima bite his bottom lip subtly, thoughts still whirling through his mind about his soulmate. Fuck, the freckles, skin, even his deliciously sharp jawline…
“God fucking–” He cursed under his breath as he connected the puzzle pieces, Yamaguchi was his soulmate. Who knew? Who fucking knew it took one dream to figure out who his soulmate was? Pretty boring if you asked me, so don't ask me why I wrote it then. As more words and possibilities slid into Tsukishima's brain, the more he kept thinking about Yamaguchi's stupid face he fell into a state of slight panic. Is Yamaguchi aware?... Does he know that… Forget it.
ok I give up.
