Chapter Text
Within the wide expanses of space, a god resides. A being of light who became one with the universe.
Ever since ascending, he had lost conscious. Far too spread out over the entirety of existence.
And yet.
Even in this state.
There is a desire.
To be.
To act.
To be an agent of chaos.
And so, decades after reaching this state, fueled by lingering motivations, a light beams through the dark.
And just like in the past, the light reflects and gets projected.
This time, by the smartphone of a young women who's out exploring an area that rarely gets visited.
She enters a building.
Commits an action that will change her life forever.
And without her knowing, a curious being follows.
---
The first thing Lux notices is a huge red curtain, obscuring his view and hiding him out of sight of whatever hubbub is going on behind it. A slight feeling of nostalgia creeps up. He quickly stashes that feeling away as he overhears a panicky voice. Something about a headset not coming off.
He carefully peeks behind the curtain and sees a being that looks like a cartoon jester.
Not just a cartoony jester that shows panic and working rubber-hose cartoon physics, but a whole cast of beings that don't look human at all.
With a quick glance, he spots a ragdoll who's trying to comfort the jester, a tall purple rabbit guy sporting a grin, a bunch of ribbons resembling a somewhat humanoid shape wearing a teary tragedy mask, a white king chess piece wearing a purple robe and quickly disappearing into a pile of pillows, something that looks like a bunch of shapes stuck together and last but not least a being resembling a clattering teeth toy with eyes inside his mouth who is flying about.
Said teeth being explains with the loud voice of a showman to the jester about the unlimited possibilities of the realm. Excluding swearing for some reason. There are even wacky sound effects and a censor bar containing some symbols and the likeliness of the teeth being to obscure any bloody swearing from the distressed jester.
Well that could explain who's in charge here.
Meanwhile the beings discuss the fact that they aren't able to leave this digital circus.
The lady whose phone Lux has hitched a ride on has now have learn to live in this new home with a new body.
If he got a nickel for every time he observes humans beings stuck somewhere with no clear way out, Lux would have several nickels. Even if that means that some of these nickels were obtained thanks to his own actions in the past.
The purple rabbit then asks to the ringmaster, who is addressed as Caine, about an adventure for the newbie.
Adventures huh? Well at least he doesn't need to be afraid of boredom.
Caine then grabs the jester and shows off his mastery over this digital realm by quickly disappearing into nothing.
Oh how ironic that he, a god himself, has entered a digital realm belonging to a being with several powers.
Sure, he's Lux Imperator, god of light. So what happens within the sparkly circuits of whatever machine that runs this place can be circumvented. Well, at least what it could do to him.
So why not playing along?
This could be entertaining. After all, mortals can be a nice source of amusement. And being among them is much more fun than observing from a distance and barely knowing where his own being begins and ends.
Lux steps away from behind the curtain with his charming smile.
''I suppose there could be room for one more fellow here?''
Several faces look at Lux in surprise.
''There's another newbie?''
