Finally! Venus was now ‘done’ being alone with the Sun. Venus hates how he stares everyone. Sun’s eyes would start to shake but not blink. And worse of all, he’s stares wouldn’t stop. But it doesn’t matter right now. Venus was now orbiting with everyone else. Just how he liked it.
Now a new problem a rosed. Venus turned his body side to side. Venus started to gid his ‘teeth’. Because he was thinking…
WHERE THE HECK IS EVERYONE?!
Earth, Mars, and Mercury were no where to be found. Venus was completely alone. Like always. While Venus was still grasping this. A higher, recognizable, maybe even bouncing voice interrupt his thoughts.
“Venus, where are the rest of you guys?”
Venus turned around, signed because he thought he got away from the Sun.
”Helloooo?? Universe to Venus!” Sun said as he was getting right into Venus faces. This made Venus’s eyes squint. For being the brightest planet, Venus wasn’t used to the brightest that the Sun gives off.
“How am I supposed to know where they are?!?!” Venus took in another breath before continuing. “YOU were staring ME down like 5 minutes ago! Do you see them?! I certainly didn’t. So HOW COULD I KNOW?!?”
The Sun made some type of pouty face. Then said,
”Fine! Go find them!”
Little did he know that what’s Venus wanted to do.
Venus took off to the astro belt. Venus thought, Well where else could they be? And there were. Talking in a little group like group therapy. That’s when Venus realized that if basically was group therapy. Venus decided to “spy” on them. The real reason was because Venus didn’t really know what to say if he approach them. Then he started to here Earth talk.
“So Mercury… now that Me and Mars went. You go.”
Mars and Earth looked Mercury waiting for an answer.
“Well… there this something on my mind…”
Earth literally physically leaned in.
”But I can’t tell you guys… it’s to much”
The awkwardness probably doubled in that moment. Earth just stared at him. And he had the right to do so. Earth has been through the deepest of the downs and the highest of the prime. To him, nothing was too much for him.
Then finally Mars ‘broke’ the awkwardness. “Even if it is ‘too much’, we will be there for you..” Mars and Earth made eye contact. “Just like you do for us”
Ew. Was the first word that came to Venus’s mind. The next one was… Boring! I get that we are a kids show and supposed to be all loving and family friendly. But this is just cringy AND boring. God, we need a new plot soon…Venus was about to turn around and leave this be, but then something came out of Mercury’s mouth that made Venus stop in his tracks.
“I can’t tell because…” He looked around, with shame. “It’s about…Venus.”
Venus did a whole 180*. What the heck could he say about me? What could that little planet say about me? With his multi brown colored surface that at some spots it looked like spots, like those spots dog things ( Dalmatians). Heh, he acts and looks a stupid little wanted puppy.
“T-To start. I once said something rude to Venus..” Mercury took a big glup after that.
”Okay???” Earth was clearly lost. “You’re acting like that isn’t what Venus does to you on a daily basis.” Mars nodded.
”I know that! But I said that he was unlovable and it will stay that way…it was something along those lines” Mercury looked completely a shamed
”You know that he probably needs to heard that right?” Earth said while raising an eyebrow.
Then Mars chimed in “Earth!”
“What? I’m not wrong!”
Venus knew Earth wasn’t wrong. Venus knows that he is unlovable. He known it sense Theia. At the time he was inlove with her. Now looking back, he was never in love with her the way Proto was. Venus is even glad that she choosed Proto. Venus realizes that he was only in love with her because Theia was the only one able to love him in any way. Theia was the only love Venus ever got. Yes it was platonic, but Venus knew it was better than nothing. He missed her.
“Still!” Mars responded. Now Mars and Earth were in a little of a ‘argument’.
“That not the point!!” Mercury words made everyone go quiet.
“The point is…” Mercury paused. “ I’m wrong… because I think I’m in love with him…”
What…? Me? what could someone like him, sweet, understanding, patient, mature, like someone like me? Rude, Reckless,Stupid, hot-Head. I mean what’s good about me? He said it himself. I’m unlovable. And never will be.
Earth was wondering the same thing “WHAT THE HELL COULD YOU SEE IN HIM?!” Earth had a look of disbelief on his face. “ Name one thing about him that makes you think that.” Earth paused “ Name one fucking thing!”
“Earth! Don’t swear. If Sun hears you, you’re fried.” For how chill Mars is, he always says something about swearing.
“Mars, I think there is bigger stars to burn right now” Yeah, it was clear that Earth wasn’t going to drop this.
Neither is Venus. From a far, Venus was freaking out. He felt like his own core was pounding and spinning like crazy in his own body. He could feel his breathing get heavier, which is weird because we don’t even have lungs. But you do weird things when you are flustered. But the thing Venus hated the most, was that he kinda liked the feeling.
While Venus was freaking out. Earth was still waiting for an answer. Then Mercury spoke up
”I didn’t you would care, Earth” Earth was in disbelief. With what he just said and the sarcastic tone that came with it.
“Okay, Okay, Okay let’s back track” Mars started. “When did you start feeling this way? And also when did you call him unlovable? I don’t remember that.”
“Well…” Mercury’s eyes went back and forth. “Sense the beginning of I had to be honest” Earth physically didn’t want to believe it, same goes with Mars. Neither of them wanted to believe. “And for your second question. It was when” Mercury paused then continued “when you, Earth, went to go and find Theia and it was just me and Venus in the solar system…” Mercury looked at them. Not because he wanted to see their reactions. It was because he knew that they would need a time to process. “Oh! And the sun… obviously”
”Sense..” Earth bite his lip before continuing, “the damn beginning?”
“Yep”
“What about my old question?” Earth replied immediately.
“What question…?” Mercury stare at Earth. “ You never asked a question?”
Earth and Mars looked at each other, then nodded. Turn to Mercury and said together,
”WHAT DO YOU SEE IN HIM?!?”
“Oh that” Mercury replied “Well to shorten up for you guys…” Mercury now had a pinkish tint “he kinda…adorable”
Earth and Mars jumped back in surprise.
“Out of all the words I thought you would use for Venus. I never thought it would be adorable.” Mars admitted
”You guys just don’t get it.”
“CLEARLY.” Earth jumped in
”And we don’t want too, right Earth?” Mars’s eyes landed on Earth.
”What do you think the answer is Mars?!? Of course I don’t want to ‘get it’!”
“Okay, Okay, Okay guys let’s just forget I’m in love with Venus. And go play solarcards”
”We will try our best” Mars said while looking at Earth. Earth did the quickness nod to exist.
Mercury looked up and saw something he wished he didn’t. One thing about Venus is that he is the brightest planet. Camouflage is not his skills. After Mercury process that Venus was standing there, probably the whole time, he noticed that Venus was literally shaking from the flusterness. He was redder than ever before. He would try to make eye contact to Mercury but would get too flustered and awkward, to the point he ran away like a shy girl in those anime shows.
Mercury took a deep breath in. Now that Venus knows, might as well ‘confront’ him. Mercury ran right after him
Now Earth and Mars are confused as hell. Surprisingly they didn’t see Venus even though he is as bright as a disco ball.
“Let’s just head to our orbits…?”
“Yeah” Earth agreed “Come on, let’s just go”
By now Mercury had catch up to him.
“Venus… I know you heard us”
“W-what are you tal-lking about?” Venus surprisingly was able to grid that out of his teeth. He was stuttering like crazy. That one of the reason why Mercury found him adorable. When Venus getting flustered, he gets stuttery, shaking, awkward, red. Mercury found it pretty adorable. Maybe that said more about Mercury than Venus. Mercury also likes when Venus would show his ‘vulnerability’ ESPECIALLY when it is on accident. For how much Venus try’s to hide his vulnerability, he’s probably the most vulnerable. Made him seem like an angry little puppy. Mercury liked it more than he should. And again this probably says more about Mercury than Venus.
“You know what I’m talking about” Mercury looked straight into Venus eyes even though Venus was trying so hard to avoid eye contact.
There was a long pause before Venus spoke.
“Did you mean anything you said?” Venus finally made eye contact. And with those stupid puppy eyes that He only does in a blue moon because he doesn’t even know that he has them. Another thing add to Mercury list of thing he finds adorable about Venus.
Mercury didn’t back down now. He step closer. Enough to hear Venus’s heavy breathing. “Why wouldn’t I?”
”S-Shut up Mercury!”
“You really can’t handle flirting, can you?” Mercury lifted an eyebrow, knowing he’s right.
a awkward silence started then was broken by Mercury
“I understand if you don’t want to see me at all. I will now always leave you alone.” Mercury’s movements got heavy.
“wait Don’t!” Venus pleaded. Right after that he realize that he made a total fool of himself.
“You want me to stay?” Mercury genuinely was surprised.
“Ye-No-Yes” Venus paused looking like the most embarrassed he’s ever been. “Just for a little. Just be around me.”
Mercury’s eye softened. And then leaned on Venus.
“ Venus?”
“Yes?”
”Can we start over?” Mercury’s eyes pleaded. “No fighting, no bullying, just us.” Mercury bit his lip “we can start slow, and focus on communication…we could be there for each other.”
Venus looked at him with those same stupid eyes and whispered “I…would love that” Mercury gave a smile and snuggle up next to him. Venus leaned back onto him. Finally being able just to take things slow.
