"Stay still," Spider Lily Cookie scolded, attempting to tend to the gash on Pink Datura Cookie's forearm.
"Do I have to?" Pink Datura Cookie whined.
"Are you stupid?" Spider Lily Cookie inquired, frustrated.
"Just a little! But that might just be the jam loss," Pink Datura Cookie joked.
"That's not funny," Spider Lily Cookie replied, but she was smiling nonetheless.
"You're just a killjoy," Pink Datura Cookie remarked.
Spider Lily Cookie found that there was no point in continuing to argue with her and simply stayed silent. The silence was familiar, like seeing a close friend after a long time apart. Crashing waves echoed in the background, a constant presence.
Spider Lily Cookie finished bandaging the wound on Pink Datura Cookie’s arm.
“Now that I don’t have to worry about you losing more jam, tell me what happened,” Spider Lily Cookie urged.
“…I fell and hit my arm on a rock,” Pink Datura Cookie admitted.
“Of course you did. In your condition, you shouldn’t even be living here. It’s not safe.”
“It’s an old washed-up shipwreck. Obviously, it’s not safe,” Pink Datura Cookie agreed. “Also, I wouldn’t be in this condition if that lavender dumbass hadn’t stolen my soul jam when we fought!”
“Mhm, sure,” Spider Lily Cookie replied. “Remember that my offer to come to the Faerie Kingdom is still on the table.”
“It’s not nearly chaotic enough there,” Pink Datura Cookie protested.
“The faeries can be chaotic when they want to be. I’d know,” Spider Lily Cookie added.
“Then maybe I’ll consider it,” Pink Datura Cookie replied.
“That’s good.”
Spider Lily Cookie left a few minutes later, leaving Pink Datura Cookie alone with her thoughts. Moving to the Faerie Kingdom wasn’t that bad of an idea, and she’d be able to see Spider Lily Cookie more often.
But Pink Datura wanted to see her desperate, and she wasn’t going to get that by just agreeing.
---
Spider Lily Cookie was sitting alone in her bed chamber, trying to come up with solutions to a problem that didn’t want to be solved.
“Why does she do this to herself? She knows she needs help, but she refuses to accept any,” Spider Lily Cookie complained. “She’s so stubborn. And yet…,” Spider Lily Cookie sighed. There’s no use imagining what could be if there isn’t a path to get there.
However, her mind kept wandering back to Pink Datura Cookie. The way she covered her mouth when she laughed, the way her magenta eyes sparkled in the sun.
Everything about her seemed perfect even though she was far from the definition of that word. Her bright pink hair was constantly in tangles and falling in front of her face, and obviously the conditions she insisted on living in weren’t the best.
But her imperfections had a charm to them. And that charm was luring Spider Lily Cookie in like a siren’s song draws a sailor into the depths of the sea.
---
“So what did you want to talk about?” Pink Datura Cookie asked smugly.
“It’s not safe for you to live here. You need to leave this place behind,” Spider Lily Cookie stated.
“It’s perfectly safe-” a wooden board fell from the ceiling, cutting off Pink Datura Cookie’s rebuttal.
“You were saying?” Spider Lily Cookie teased.
“Shut it.”
Spider Lily Cookie giggled.
“It’s not like you’d be able to smuggle a Beast into the Faerie Kingdom anyway. After all, you’re their queen. Wouldn’t that be a little scandalous?” Pink Datura Cookie said, making a last ditch effort to avoid this.
“It would be, if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve been planning this and have already made arrangements for your arrival,” Spider Lily Cookie responded.
“What about my minions?” Pink Datura Cookie inquired.
“Arrangements have been made for the two of them as well.”
“Since you went through all that work,” Pink Datura Cookie paused dramatically, “fine.”
Spider Lily Cookie seemed shocked that she wasn’t putting up any more resistance.
“Then you should start packing up. I’ll come back tomorrow,” Spider Lily Cookie said as she turned to leave.
“One last thing before you go.” Pink Datura said, sparking Spider Lily Cookie’s curiosity as she turned back around.
Pink Datura Cookie planted a kiss on Spider Lily Cookie’s cheek, and it flushed bright red.
“What was that for?” Spider Lily Cookie asked, trying not to let the excitement show in her voice.
“Do I need a reason to kiss you?” Pink Datura Cookie asked teasingly.
“No…. Anyways, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See ya!”
