Jongho knew he was being childish, getting all whiny and pouty when they were just working, but it was just so unfair, he wasn't picked by his own boyfriend!
Now, in their home, while they were getting ready for bed, Hongjoong wouldn't stop looking worryingly at him, as if that would make him feel better.
"Bear, why are you sulking?" He felt a smooth hand touching his own.
"I'm not sulking".
"Okay, why are you not sulking?" He could feel the little tease through his words.
"Because you –" he stopped mid-sentence, he really didn't want to look like a child to his boyfriend, he just felt a little bad and tired from a whole day of shooting.
"Because I..." Joong turned towards him, expecting an explanation.
"Because you didn't choose me" he finally answered with low head.
"I didn't choose you? What are you talking about?" He seemed genuinely confused so he awkwardly answered.
"Today, during the dating show, you didn't pick me as your first option, you didn't even try to get a date with me...".
"Oh? But you didn't pick me either, we were just making content" He was clearly holding his laugh.
"Because you didn't pick me first! And don't laugh at me, it's not funny".
"My sweet baby, I'm not laughing at you, I just think it's cute that a fake dating show got you all worked up." He took him by the cheeks, looking at his eyes, "you know I love you and I choose you every day".
"Stop being like this, I still don't get it".
"Bear, we got together in the end, didn't we?".
"Only because everyone rejected me, and we were the only ones left".
"And why do you think that happened?" He could see a little smile on his boyfriend's face.
"I don't know, but it would've been nice to at least be picked by my own partner" he hasn’t stopped pouting but couldn't help it.
"Alright, I recognize I didn't choose you first, but I was playing around with my whole goody two-shoes guy persona, I didn't mean to hurt you or make you feel like you weren't my first and only choice, because I am in love with you and that won't change". He gave him a little peck on the lips. "And, if I'm being honest, I think I know why the others didn't pick you either" now he looked kind of nervous.
Jongho was now wearing a light crimson shade on his face, caused by the bold statement from Hongjoong, so he decided to ignore the first part for now and focus on the last one, "why?" He frowned.
"Well, maybe you haven't noticed but, I tend to get all jealous when the others get too close to you, and I know I shouldn't worry about them, it's just... you're too cute for your own good and the simple idea of you realizing you could have anyone if you wanted to gets me so frustrated and mad and sad, I'm not trying to justify my actions, but I may or may not have given them threatening eyes or words in the past, so maybe now they try to keep their distance when we have this type of activities" He certainly hadn't expected that answer and, if he could be honest, it was kinda cute.
"I don't know what to say...".
"I understand if you think I'm crazy, and yeah maybe I am, but I just want you to know and never forget that you are the one that I will always choose at the end of the day" Hongjoong gave him his cute nervous smile that he loved.
"I do think you are crazy, but you're lucky you're cute" he finally smiled back and got closer to kiss him, feeling all his love in the way Hongjoong kept him close by the waist, making him feel special, reminding him that they belonged together.
