Violet Penrose is not quick to anger.
She has made sure of that. Years of practice from her overbearing parents to make sure that she never ruins their family reputation has made each and every inconvenience or argument mean nothing to her. She had been able to keep the peace.
In her household when her sister would constantly argue with her parents over the tiniest inconveniences.
At school where her younger brother would always get bullied.
At the church where one more person was chosen to ascend. Violet never saw them again; she never would.
She made sure she was her parents' perfect little girl. Perfect grades, perfect attendance, perfect outfits.
For their perfect little family.
Violet had made sure she did everything right. Everything they could have possibly wanted.
Been the one they constantly put the spotlight on.
Been their favorite.
